    Master Calligrapher Narayana Bhattathiri speaks about his life journey from a fine art student to a calligrapher and graphic designer. He shares his experiences in various fields he left his mark as a calligrapher, including publication design, film and video, exhibitions, motion graphics etc. This biographical talk takes the audience to unexplored areas and applications of the wonderful art form of Calligraphy.
    Narayana Bhattathiri graduated from College of Fine Arts, Trivandrum India, in painting. In 1982 He joined Kalakaumudi group of publications as an artist - the first person in Kerala to be designated as a calligrapher.
    More than four decades he played, explored and expressed with Malayalam alphabets, ‘lettering’ the titles of stories and poems.
    Bhattathiri is a recipient of the Jikji Excellence Award in International Calligraphy for 2017, 2018 and 2020 and has conducted Several exhibitions at art galleries and educational institutions in different parts of the world.
    His works are exhibited in the prestigious Calligraphy Stone Park in Herbin, China among the best of the world and also at Calligraphers in Conversation (5th Annual International Calligraphy Exhibition, Sanfrancisco)
    He is the chief organiser and Festival Director of kachatathapa, First National calligraphy Festival of Kerala
    Mr Bhattathiri designed a permanent exhibition of calligraphy works based on the legend O.V.Vijayan’s Malayalam classic “Khazakinte Ithihaasam”, which is a first-of-its-kind calligraphy series, based on a novel, in any Indian language.
