If you arrive early and apply some patience, the Grand Palace in Bangkok can be rewarding. Although the palace grounds and Wat Phra Kaew - home of the emerald Buddha - are indeed impressive.

Same thing happend with us that palace is closed and then taxi driver took us to a boat ride which was not at all worth and costly
