- On the evening of May 1, 2010, a bomb was lit in New York’s Times Square. As thousands of tourists and workers were in the area that quiet evening, a street vendor called 911 after he noticed smoke coming from an SUV. Authorities raced to the scene to secure the area and stop the bomb from exploding. Then the chase was on to find out who did it. In this “New York Gritty,” host Sal Bono speaks to the FBI agents who appear on CBS’ hit series, “FBI True” about how they captured the terrorist. The episode of "FBI True" featuring the Times Square Bomber airs Tuesday at 9pm on CBS.

Had never even heard about this incident before. That's how you know law enforcement did a great job, you don't hear about their success stories.

I was surfing the TV and was following the 2013 Boston Bombing like I was a special agent I was hooked trying to figure out who in the crowd. But when this happened I was so focused on School I had no idea at the time it blows my mind what you can be ignorant to for so long. This is what they mean by ignorance is bliss

You're patting the backs of law enforcement but what about the street vendor? He saw what was happening and due to his military background he also knew what he was looking at. I wonder what was in his voice that made the 911 operator believe him. Still, how about patting him on the back??

Yea, him and I could’ve been friends potentially had I not invested heavily in the Garfield plush market and dropped my classes to Bridgeport. Pretty incredible how well my life has worked out in comparison to his given we were on similar paths. He must have been small minded and missed out on the largely profitable graf plush bubble.

I want to praise the FBI but I am constantly reminded of the many tips they received about the Florida school shooter and how they ignored it. Or the Ford hood shooter who was supposedly on their radar but didn't nothing about it. And then there was a Florida nightclub shooter.
And the buffalo shooter, and the Uvalde shooter. Evert single one of them was on the FBI's radar. And everytime they were able to commit their evil acts. How convienient.
They purposefully allowed the shootings to happen just to accomplish their goal of gun confiscation. Then, they say only the govt should have guns all while they proved themselves to be utterly incompetent in stopping these sickos.
All these shootings have one goal: Gun confiscation.
The US is not a police state. If you want a police state where they detain based on risk factors, you’ll like chinas system. One example is those reeducation camps.

In May 2010 when I was home from college, my mom told me about this event. I live in montville, New Jersey which isn’t far from nyc. My mom mentioned that the guy was from Pakistan and his wife’s last name is Mian, that’s my last name too.
