just wanted to say that you, elk and mike got one big heart to reveal so much about the secrets of the golf swing. Without you guys, I think alot of us will still be in the dark on loads of aspects. Thanks Martinez for sharing so much. Jus speaks alot about you guys' character.
That's what I thought. His posture is so good throughout the entire motion. I love how he loads up into the backswing and then seems to stay behind it without flipping it or hanging on to it ! That's some wonderful had action action there !
That is pure. You almost never hear a sound that is better than the one he produces. Sadly, he seemed to never put in as much time with his putting as he did with his swing. If he had done that, who knows how good he could have been?
Love your ball striking, it is so pure, could you please do a video in slow-motion, from start to finish with a close shot to show the positions of your arms and hands from a frontal close up view. That would really help. Thanks!
I've been researching about the arm connection to the chest and arm pit area, specifically the left armpit, and I noticed Elk insuring that position around the :22 second mark. Is this something you consciously feel when you set up to the ball? I remember Hogan mentioned that it would take terrific amount of force to separate his arms and armpits at address.
He may "feel" some kind of bowing of the right wrist on the takeaway but I assure you through impact his secret is the same as that of any great ball striker. The right wrist is cupped at impact. Study what's called "the right hand flying wedge". That's the secret. Period! For ALL great ball strikers !!! How you get there is irrelivent. Get there you must ! It's much easier to set the wedge at setup , or during the takeaway, and then just maintain it throughout the swing until well after impact when it will no longer be possible to hold it due to centrifugal force pulling the club away from you. Dustin Johnson is an extreme example of someone who really sets his right hand flying wedge during the takeaway. No I did not say that wrong. He is famous for a bowed left wrist but I assure you he is not thinking about bowing the left. When asked "why the bowed left wrist " ? He said " I don't know, it's just something I've always done". Yes he is known for not being the sharpest tool in the shed. As Mickelson once said " to be good at golf you have to be either very smart, or very dumb" Lol What DJ is thinking about, imo, is cupping the right wrist into its flying wedge condition on the takeaway, which he does to an extreme, which then bows the left wrist to an extreme.
I've watched several videos on this BS move. Neither Martin nor Elk are even coming close to the move they are trying to produce. Hell, Elk's club head is even a tad bit behind him in his takeaway. If he was rolling his right arm up in the takeaway as he's suggesting then his club head would definitely stay in front of him. Other than that, Elk has always been a very solid ball striker. Not sure why he's pushing all these gimmicks...
He clearly says “that’s the backswing without any movement, that’s what it feels like” maybe when you get that you can see the “move” better. You can’t look at that swing and say they haven’t figured something out even if it’s not perfect it’s damn close
Not seeing the "twirl" at all at top of Elk's swing and I am very disappointed since I spent $35 on the video he and Martin Ayers are pumping and have yet to figure out what the hell they are talking about.
Joe Public- Well said. Elk had the most knowledgeable putting teacher in the history of golf back in 2010 when Elk almost repeated his PGA Championship victory, losing by 2 strokes. For some reason he left Mangum. He has been battling health issues his whole career. "Elkington's career has been hampered by constant battles with allergies, notably to grass, which caused several absences from tournament play. He has had sinus surgeries, constant infections, and bouts with viral meningitis, as well as searing headaches" ---Wikipedia
Swing looks pretty but his head moves too far back after top of backswing, it works well for driver and longer irons but not for short irons and wedges.
It's just pure incomparable class

In my opinion the key to his swing is his spine tilt. Doesn’t change much from address
Awesome. Effortless hammering.

That sounds sooo good
The #1 key with Elks beautiful and repeatable swing is his right arm. It's perfectly at 90 degrees at the top.

I guess this creates a feel that makes his swing work??
The poor turf, it's been obliterated

That is the magic move !
GO ELK SHOW THEM BOYS YOUR STILL ALIVE
Ears hurt.

I agree. Elk has never needed a trick on the greens. He just needed to learn to putt better.
Yeah. It is exactly that. Either bs or a good example of the difference between feel and real which makes golf so difficult.

Just watch his legs. It is like he is marching in time; no attempt to rotate, which is an effect, and not a cause.
Whats the claw thing all about Martinez?
One of the best ball-strikers the game ever had. Gorgeous swing.
talk about a clean hit
Couldn't make out what Elk was drawing to explain the action. Could you make a video / drawing to help clarify?
Not seeing the "twirl" at all at top of Elk's swing and I am very disappointed since I spent $35 on the video he and Martin Ayers are pumping and have yet to figure out what the hell they are talking about.
I have not purchased the video you mentioned, but his lesson with Trent Dilfer explains the twirl.
Martain, does Elk play with standard lenght irons ?
BELLY ROLL, BELLY ROLL, BELLY ROLL!!!
Go Elk.....Shoot dem flags
talk about feel not real, i doint any action resembling what Elk says he is feeling
If only he put as much time and thought into his putting. He may have been one of the great players, not swingers.

This is what happens when a snake oil salesman believes his own bullshit.

The art portion of this video is terrible. I know it's purpose, but out of context it sucks.
Total BS...
Gregg Jackson
Willing to bet you have never hit a ball like that once in your entire life.
bunch of crap.
