As part of the “Beauty and Harmony” program, Dimash delighted the audience with the Kazakh song Dudarai composed by Bakhytzhan Baikadamov. Dimash was accompanying himself on dombra and piano to perform the traditional song in jazz style. It was really amazing to see on stage a new facet of his multiple skills, always on point!! 🔝❤️🎤🪕

"Dudarai" is a Kazakh folk song which he started out singing it in the traditional way with his strong powerful lower range, then the switch up to him on the modern keyboard with a funky-jazzy beat, and the sang it in that funky-jazzy flavor with his rift and runs a bit of free-styling thrown in, like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. Yes, those high notes he just shot up there, because he can. They were so clean and crystal clear. AMAZING!

Lol. Not a guitar, its called a Dombra, a traditional Kazakh instrument. Its perfect for the "original" style of Dudarai as it is a Kazakh folk song, but Dimash loves to put a spin on music and this jazzy composition is just perfect. I agree its very catchy, gets stuck in my head and brings a smile to my face.

I had to laugh when you said you'd never seen him play an instrument before, because I knew what was coming up next. Actually he's played piano or dombra in several performances, but this is the first time he played two in the same song. He's played drums a few times, too, and guitar....
