This is awesome! Needs a lot of love again. New tires, new radiator, a lot of new stuff. I hope you give the hilux a new respray, new finished wheels, new finished interior, stereo, speakers and and clean engine bay. Make this truck look new again.😊
Great videos man! I'm new to your channel here. Just a little tip for the heater core, you can install a shut-off valve somewhere in line to keep the coolant from reaching the heater core, or build a cheap coolant diversion system to move the coolant elsewhere until you need the heat. And when that time comes, just open up the valve (or valves) and you have heat again. I've done it a few times on some of my older vehicles and it worked awesome. Keep up the good work and keep these older Toyota's running. We all love seeing them running!!!!!
3m Scotch-weld PR40 --- i used it to glue the gasket back together on my 79 pickup sliding glass window gasket. works a charm my friend. Good job making the one work you have!
that's a good idea! its in there so much better with the real window and real gasket I'm sure it will do great compared to the plexiglass that was falling out
@@redlineranch. The main reason l enjoy your channel you work on older Toyotas and of course there are a lot of older Toyotas around because Toyotas are number one in Australia and people keep them because they don't break down and for many years they built Toyota Camerys in Australia including the first Toyota Camery Hybrids the go to for Taxis in Australia
Think you forgot the windshield wipers. The "Window" hack is to put a piece of string or cord inside the seal, and pull it out while installing the window and it pulls the lip of the seal over the window cutout.
Enjoying the videos! I recently acquired a 74 Hilux so I am definitely learning a lot from you. How is the steering on yours? Mine feels a little sloppy above 45 mph and I think a steering gearbox rebuild or swap is in my future. It could just be that I am not used to manual steering, but I think it's worn gears in the steering box. Any thoughts on swapping drum brakes for disc brakes? Cheers.
You may want to look into under dash universal air conditioning kits, I know vintage air sells them, but there might be units that are more available locally. If nothing else, there are all electric a/c systems in the aftermarket as well, just upgrade your alternator. Peace!!
You can use a hose clamp on the input section to heater core.. just on the hose itself to pinch off and Constrict flow through the heater hose. Loosen and tighten depending on the flow you desire. I seen someone do it before, I usually just c clamp it off entirely 😂 simple effective. Definitely not the right way but whatever works. 😂 greetings from Toledo, Ohio
@@redlineranch. I don’t know about Toyota or Nissan, but a turbo-4 out of a Mustang or Camaro might do the trick. The TDI out of a VW Jetta is a nasty little engine to be so small. Twelve Hundred horsepower is hella fire
can you make add a airconditioner to the heating element so u can have a airconditioneri for the summer. also add a starter so u the gas mixture and connection will work together to start the truck alot better,
Would be cool to see you throw a few coats of clear over that paint. Just as is. Don't clean it as you would with a proper paint job. The point is to keep the "culture" of the truck.
For that age it is quite good and now even usable almost 😂 little more effort and it is gonna be sweeet! btw I got tyres from 2003 in my 1990 Hilux so it is ok! 😁
Pretty sure this truck is what caused me to find the channel in the first place. Great work as usual.
Thanks! I appreciate the support and look forward to making this truck something special!
Same to me. I have a 1973 long bed.
Same
Man, I love seeing you bring this phoenix up from the ashes! Your confidence is contagious, call her Christine!
Christine the 1957 Fury killed people to protect her owner. 😊😊😊😊
I appreciate that! I love getting these old Toyotas back on the road!

Working on it! One step at a time!

13:42 You could also add a manual ball valve mount it in the engine bay for easier access. Love the video!!!
That's a great idea! Would completely stop the flow into the cab in the summer time!
This truck got me to the channel. I'm happy to see it get some love. Content is great.
thanks! I really enjoy working on this truck!
New favorite channel by far!
Cool to see your neighbor helping out. Truck is coming together nicely.
im very thankful for cool !
Another great video bro. Thanks for uploading more content.
No problem, glad to be getting content out more regularly!

Just found this channel. Love it!

@@redlineranch. 100% better for sure. Great work on that
This is awesome! This truck brought me to this channel!

Ran when parked!🤣🤣🤣 Where have we heard that one before?🤔😜👍
My favorite kind of Toyotas 🤣

I knew I was forgetting something! I need to get the wiper figured out next!
@@redlineranch. Yeah, I watched your 500 mile drive thru the rain! Just thought I'd remind you!😜
That engine hums, definitely take care of er 👍🏽
that's the plan, but part of me wants to swap in a v8 or turbo engine, or even a turbo diesel!
Another great video Nicolas :)
Glad you enjoyed it! I enjoy making them and seeing all the people that like to see these classic Toyotas!

the steering is definitely a bit loose, ive been looking into what it would take to get it tightened up!
I have a 78 with plans to drop my 1uz in it. Been a plan for years but one day haha
id love a v8 swap, or a turbo diesel swap!

That would be a sweet addition to the truck for sure!
If you get the kit, please do a video of the install.

That's not a bad idea! I might use that

You gotta take ‘er on Hot Rod Power Tour
that would be awesome! might need a little more power to make it even better!

And here iam waiting for the paint refurbishment
Makes me miss my ‘90 pickup 5 speed, too bad it had the 3.0 👎🏻
the 3.0 engines are definitely a bit complicated and not super powerful, but the 90's trucks are so cool!
Just sell it to me and you won't have to worry bout upkeep!!!
can you make add a airconditioner to the heating element so u can have a airconditioneri for the summer. also add a starter so u the gas mixture and connection will work together to start the truck alot better,
Still needs tires and a Bluetooth radio with speakers
for sure needs tires!

3.4 5vz swap it
that'd be fun, I was debating 3rz swapping it, since I have a spare 3rz engine!
since you got the truck back running, "how" bout getting "cleaned up" get rid of the hippie-rockroll image" you are protraying .
Sweet video can’t wait for the next one 👍👍👍
More to come, excited for the plans I have for this truck!

It’s getting closer to being ready for anything! One small fix at a time and eventually it’ll be “done”
