  • Experience the electrifying performance of rapper MAVI at the 2023 Brown University Black History Month concert, presented by the Brown University Black Student Union and the WBRU 360° Experience in Sound. With captivating visuals by Jack Stein, Maiya Jannah Ramsaroop, Andrew Stevens, and directed by Jack Stein, the concert showcased a celebration of self-love, dialogue, and music. Production Director and set designer Namoo Song crafted a visually stunning stage for the performers.
Starting with a dynamic performance by student artist Teniola Ayeni, the concert's annual tradition of bringing together a community of students of color was evident. MAVI took the stage and wowed the crowd with a 20-song set from his latest album, Laughing so Hard, it Hurts, featuring hits like "Doves," "Self Love," and "Chiasma." Throughout the concert, MAVI's personality shone through, as he joked with the audience, slow danced to his own songs, and expressed his appreciation for the BSU organizers that brought him to Brown's campus.
