I love this little thing, I just got it this week. Thanks for the great video, especially the mapping function and set up detail. I may end up with one upstairs one downstairs and its still better value than one rumba :)
Yeh, I love mine too. I saw a video where someone put those big fake googly eyes on theirs so when it roamed around it looked like it was alive, I'm thinking about adding some to mine, LOL
I just bought one. I’m hoping it will make it over the lip from kitchen to hallway and living room. I’m a disabled Veteran and getting the dust bunnies under my bed is really wicked on my injuries and arthritis.
How did it work? If it is having trouble making it over the lip then there are these cable guards on amazon that work as ramps that might be worth trying: amzn.to/3Msel4v
@@GadgetOwners hi, it works great. Not just good but great! Way exceeded my expectations. I was about to get this exact one, but I cancelled that order and picked up the K3 version for the mop. The mop is only “ok” but since it cost 107 dollars on Amazon I am very happy with its performance over all.
It will only map when in the "Right Bow-Shaped Path" mode. If you follow the instructions in the video exactly, it should be working. If it's not you may want to contact the manufacturer for further troubleshooting steps, or maybe a possible replacement.
If you set it up the same way as the video and its still not working, try sending it back to the home base, wait 10 seconds, and then try the routine again by clicking the vacuum button we created on the home page of the app.
Thanks for the video! Question: If you move it to another part of your house, say your upstairs how does that work with it learning the layout of your house? Thanks
It remaps the layout each time it starts so I would imagine it would map the upper floor separately from the lower floor. I only have one floor in my current house or else I'd test it out right now.
I have the k3. She gets lost a lot. It takes her forever to find her home base. I didn't know you can map it out. Im not great at electronics. I live out in the country and the wifi is low. But I'm going to try and do what you just taught me. And yes. I did call her a she. Lom
Mine finds the base pretty easily, I imagine the mapping function plays a big part in that. Also the wifi connection is pretty important for them while mapping. I hope this video helps you out! Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
I can't get mine to go back to the charger? Does it need to be set for each area? I have a large open area but pick it up to do an area that is 2 steps up to do another level. Does that mess up the memory?
So far it has been working great for regular dust, lint, and hair in my home. I'll have to make another video testing out a few different materials with this unit.
Thanks for the set up it works great but I can't figure out how to connect to my eco dot. Smart life doesn't carry this brand. Only thing I could find is like the Google hub or whatever lol
I haven't personally tested the K3 yet but it looks like the setup should be the same as the K2. Did you follow all of the steps in this video and then enable the smart life skill to your Echo device through the Alexa app?
It might be. If it's not working at all I would recommend reaching out the the manufacturer or the Amazon Seller directly for further troubleshooting or for a replacement device.
I need to ask a dumb question, your video was amazing thank you. I have mine all set up thanks to you except I can not open the remote control to put the batteries in. Is there a trick to it?
@@GadgetOwners so I tried that as well but it won't budge. I was trying the wrong end..lol. I read somewhere that someone used a knife to pry it open but I haven't tried that yet.
I just took my out of storage for my office. After setting everything up, the vacuum has been blinking red for over 2 hours. Do you know why this would be happening?
The battery most likely needs more time to charge if it's been off of its base for awhile. Let it charge until the light turns blue or purple, then try again.
You just have to download and sync the Smart Life skill in your alexa app. Then, if you followed every step in this video, you can say "Alexa, Start The Vacuum" to start the cleaning program we just created.
After your house has been mapped, does the robot vacuum just in the areas it already mapped then go back to its base, or does it keep vacuuming until the battery is low?
It vacuums everything it can and then does a pass around the edges to make sure it got everything, then goes back to the charger. To do multiple passes just restart it once it gets to its base. Also, if you have a large house and its not able to finish the job before the battery runs low, it will go back to its base automatically to recharge for awhile, and then go finish the rest of the house. They're so convenient! lol
To be honest, I don't have much experience with google devices yet since I only have an iPhone and Alexa. I plan to get some Google devices soon so that I can include them in videos like this. For now you may want to reach out to the manufacturer, they usually have instructions they can email over for this type of issue.
Potrebbe essere finito in un unico passaggio. Può anche tornare al caricabatterie per ricaricarsi automaticamente se necessario, e poi continuerà fino a quando l'intero pavimento non sarà pulito. Sto utilizzando Google Translate
Anyone happen to know if there is a Google voice command to have the K2 robo vacuum immediately stop and return to docking station? When I say “..stop…” it pauses the vacuum. Although, eventually when the battery gets low it will to back to the charger on its own obviously. I just got it so maybe I am just not being patient enough after asking it to “stop”, until it returns to charge? Other logical commands aren’t recognized by Google to get to to go there right away. Thank you for any help in advance!
You want to let it fully charge before trying to connect it. If your still having trouble then turn the switch to off for a few minutes, then back on and try again. If that doesn't work then you might want to reach out to the manufacturer or seller for some more troubleshooting steps or maybe a possible replacement unit.
Yep, just press the button on the top and it will go into "Auto-Clean" mode. This mode is not as efficient as the way mentioned in the video, but it will get the job done if a smartphone is not available.
Great review my friend! I appreciate you going through all of the setup steps! Thank you!
I love mine! I named her Rhoda. It really works well. Just make sure electric cords are out of the way.
Many thanks, I spent a long time trying to get it to pair and you provided a clearly explained path to success
Just received this robot today and thank goodness I found your video! Great instructions! Just started using it right now! So far so good! 👍🏼
Great to hear! :D
Cool

Right! I still can't believe how well they work! lol :D
Thank you for this great review ;0).
Now I wish there were a duster for furniture that is good!
You and me both! If they ever make one I'll review it on the channel! :D
This was sooooo helpful. Ty for your time!!
Glad I could help! Thanks for stopping by!
Best review, I was having trouble with the dust bin
Dude great video! Thank you
You bet!
Love this Robot. I have the OPK2 !

Thanks so much for showing how to do the mapping! I’ve had this robot for a year and could never figure it out!!!
My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by!

Alexa, invent a good furniture duster that vacuums dust!!! lol
Hahah! "Alexa, give me a million dollars!!! xD
Have you considered a miniature blimp with smart dusting wand?
@@TheBigburcie Where do you get this dusting wand? ;0)
Great video! Is there a way to set up a “no go” area? My couch is the perfect height and it always gets stuck under it.
Can you specify a specific room/area?
thank you!!

Thank you
I can’t get mine to map on the app, suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong?

Have you determined how automation works? I tried and it does the random path cleaning and not the Bow path, even though I set it for bow path.

I've just received this robot and this video is very helpful; so the OKP life App isn't that good? Thanks
I prefer the Smart Life app but the OKP Life app works pretty well too, they are similar in many ways.
Are you able to name room sections once mapping is done and just have it vacuum 1 section?
Suction test?

It's the one without the dip unlike most remotes.
