Tyres are like that in dry and summer season.
The tread depth is still good. The way you test the tread is get a Penny and put the Bottom of the penny into the groove.
If the groove doesnt reach Lincolns head than you don't have to change them.
Or you can get a tire depth gauge. with 2, 2/3 millimeters you still are good on tread.

Cool Guy Not at all. There's no where in any car manual that has a maintenance guide for tires. Mileage may very on each set of tires as there's a lot of variables that make them wear faster or slower. It seems like the dealer wanted to make a quick buck off of someone who doesn't know anything about cars.
Because when there is a possibility to take money from dumb people then you should do it :D They should have at least made some burnouts before changing...

You could use the old tyres as bumpers at the back of the drive in to prevent you from hitting the wall. Put them to good use instead of letting them rot in storage. Did you know that after a year unless you wet old tyres they would start to emit rubber smell that might even give you a sore throat if in a closed space.

In dubai we have a yearly car test and once the car touches 3 yrs we have to change the tyre for safety reasons in order to pass the test and have the permit to drive around ... Because of the heat out here , its a rule for everybody ..
