I like Class Action and Guilty by Suspicion. Interesting debate about the violence surrounding showings of New Jack City.

if looks could kill is a interesting spy comedy, im surprised warner hasnt released it on digital as of yet with a proper bluray/4k release

The answer behind the New Jack City violence is simple. Dope boys came to the theater, got a little revved up by the movie, and left feeling and acting like Nino Brown.

Along with reviewing bad movies, the shows when they disagreed were the best because of the discussions that ensued.

True Colors is good, and Spader and Cusack work well off each other.

Gene was so happy to see Widmark's return to acting. Too bad that would be Dick's final performance.

He retired. It was a tragedy. He should have continued acting.

@@I_am_Dane_Youssef I think he got bored by acting because he said he didn't retire, he quit. By the 1970's, he was basically stuck in the same "old grizzled white guy" roles over and over again.

Ebert is right about True Colors, cliches every minute and very predictable. However Cusack and Spader are so compelling. The scene when Cusacks blue collar upbringing is exposed is the best acting in his entire career

I agree, the actors are the best part of the film. The movie itself is ok.

I wanted to love True Colors - I think Cusack is great in nearly everything, I love the Candidate........but it did fall flat. It felt very cliche, by the numbers. Plus the whole love triangle was kind of lame.
Plus I think they were miscast. I think Cusack and Spader should've switched roles and it would've fit better.

Robert Deniro needs roles that don't require skillful acting range ,but rather material that he can play as close to being himself(a dirtbag) as possible.like in the king of comedy .A psycho with no personality and no talent.........And I'm not a trump supporter😐

I feel bad about Gene’s passing and more recently Ebert, but Gene was just insufferable. I would blame Gene more than Ebert for the behind the scenes dislike. He gets it wrong consistently more then Ebert, but what I hate about both of them is their uber-liberal social justice influenced reviews. They were way ahead of their time on that front.

You know I’m definitely not aligned with them politically, and I definitely didn’t agree with a lot of their movie reviews, but I always enjoy listening to their conversations and respect their opinions because they clearly articulate the reasons behind them. Also their political opinions and insertions are for the most part so subtle compared to what you get today on mainstream talk shows. The New Jack City commentary at the end of this episode is probably the most political I’ve heard them get on this show.
