Cool video... I fixed the front end ov my 2015 VNL670 back in 2016.. regret not taking a single video or photo... did all by myself, had to pull motor and transmission out... only had shop do a frame job... by the way, don’t do the sunroof, they are useless... and crack all the time... I drive Volvo’s since 2010.. never had a use for it... all of them cracked.
Always a joy to watch. I have to admit im still pissed that guy stole the car from you. Yall are 2 honest caring and hard working guys that has also given alot back to us your viewers through the giveaways. Keep up the great work you 2 do
Hey Mike when you're dealing with a ton of different connectors, use different colored zip ties. During reassembly just match the colors together. I'm working in heavy machinery and I do it with hydraulic lines that are all the same size and color. Keep up the good work!
I always enjoyed this sort of work when I was a fitter especially the wiring (or spaghetti). No one else liked it so I always got that work. Happy Dayz! You show the patience needed as there is NO 'quick fix' on these sort of jobs. You just have to know its 'first thing out is last thing back'. You seem pretty organised on that. Big step getting that wiring and dash in and having it weatherproof as everything can now be done whenever and not dependent on weather. We are having some rough storms here in the UK right now so I hope you have more peaceful weather. Don't tell 'RustyCracker' how quick you have been doing a Volvo!
If you could check out the WELT documentary on American Trucks they show the production of trucks from Volvo America. That dash goes in as one piece after the wiring harness are run. Logically one would remove the dash first which is a Complete unit in itself and then remove the harnesses. I see too much of the dash taken apart.
Next time, do yourself a favor : Do not gut the donor vehicle all at once. Especially the complex wiring. Take each part out of the donor truck and reinstall it in the new cab immediately.: no wondering the routing of each bit and pieces. I watched "Alex Rebuilds" doing the same swap on a Viper in need of a complete new frame and all. A potential nightmare but he did a great job, transferring bit by bit, wiring, bolts and connectors, suspension, etc one at the time. I did it a few times as a non-professionnal DIYer, some years ago on serious sports cars. With great success. Yes, time consuming but garanteed success !
You do realize that most of the interior and components must be removed first, before any of the wiring can be removed. As for the dash, it is possible to remove the dash and column separately... it's a pain, but possible.
You guys are awesome!👍love the build and the positive additude...truck is going to look pretty good when together you going to 2 tone it? Not leave it solid white? And will you be putting super singles on the rear since it's a road tractor? Or keep it for Niko brothers car hauling get subbed out from copart and ins auto auction...haul for the ppl that buy repairables or get yourselves a driver and have another business to supplement the body shop.....might be something to look into yes?
I would have left the windshield out until the cab was back on the frame, if the cab twists when you are lifting it back into place that will crack that windshield so fast. Not to mention it just makes it easier to work being able to reach through the windshield area, pass parts in an out etc. IMO it was a bad call to install it now. SUNROOF, yeah don't really want a sunroof when you are trying to sleep during the daytime
You know sometimes you need sheet metal to weld in bad spots! Are you going to keep any of the material from the semi for fabrication? There’s a lot of good metal there.
Fellow u tuber on body fender an flipper od cars an trucks an suv said that do not so sew up an not have proper new seat cover the cover is a top back seat cover. He said could severely hurt the person an that could be ur child or wife think it's Mike on 2019 Honda van.
The rear grab handles are on backwards, and it is painful watching you change the windshield.... 45 min tops with only a hand to hand the glass up to me and pull the cord. Plus, fiberglass is not a good product to repair SMC. Panel bond epoxy and work the matting into it completely is best. Even though the resin says SMC compatible.... it isn't. It will fail. Especially if used in a structural area such as the hood. ....and automotive paint on a commercial application? Imron is the only way to fly there.car paint will be riddled with rock chips the first trip out.
Nice to see two brothers working together!
Even watching that dash come out it was an Eureka moment for me, great job boys.
That's a hell of alot of work you guys are doing a hell of a job !
It always amazes me the way that you manage to sort out all the wiring, respect!!
That dash would keep me up at night 😂 I think this is the most accurate representation of a rebuild on RUclips . Great job guys 👍

This was one of the most stressful videos I’ve ever watched. You guys are saints with insane dedication.

Rusty propably crying watching you guys while trucking😊
The Nikos should make him an offer he can't refuse ...
You had to do it one at a time. The robot that puts those in does it within moments!
You know why i ❤ your work ? Cz you are always smiling while working 🙂 and i ❤ that smile on your face 👌🏻👌🏻

Very interesting build!!!!
That looks like a lot of work but doing a great job on it 🙏🏼🍀🍀🙏🏼✌🏽🇨🇦🇨🇦✌🏽👍🏻😱🤔😱
Did you have any assembly manuals, or just went about it bolt by bolt for the main dashboard?

Hi guys when are you releasing another semi video its been real good so far
I want to drive the truck when you're finished with it.
Where did you get the replacement cab?
What are you going to do with the truck when you are done?
I have some build suggestions for you guys, do a camaro and a utv
Nice progress! Was that Ed putting in the new glass?
Love the videos man! Keep up the good work! Maybe we can collaborate one day! It’s Alex Davidchuk from Asheville
nis semi cab keep it going!!
I have the same Volvo... I want to try to remove the lockers(cabinet). I don’t like this lockers that I have . But you never show how you removed it.
I have a question is it possible to switch a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 long horn put a Cummins engine in it?
How long it takes to do it man
👍👍👍
👍
Me quedo chiquito el video un saludo desde Perú.
2018 Volvo Big Rig!
What happened to the rest of the process? Thankyou
You people should fix the the damage cab or send it to get fixed and resell it
You can turn that cab into a tiny home.
👏👏
I dont know if you all answer questions from subscribers lol, but what made you all want to rebuild the semi truck?
If this truck in junk yard she probably will shred thank god you saved her
Please do some kind of "custom" sleeper, don't do a original interior with beds and that stuff. Great videos over all!!
Yes sir that's semi was bad now yall git it right
I would not put the "Moon roof/ Sun roof" in a long trip with the sun hitting you and you will be very uncomfortable.
These trucks has curtains,I own my Volvo and Kenworth and it comes with curtains to block the sun lights.
And the way that itll be tilted the sun will hit the sleeper
They have a sun shade to cover them, but they are also the cause of most water leaks in the new Volvos.
Now i understand why insurance companies total a vehicle, The amount of work to restore one
Why did the dash need to come out?
Its a different bodyshell ...
Gosh not an easy job!
what happened with this project?
Are you selling old can I need driver side?
PART 5 ???????
That truck looks very roomy lots of head space.
Fellow u tuber on body fender an flipper od cars an trucks an suv said that do not so sew up an not have proper new seat cover the cover is a top back seat cover. He said could severely hurt the person an that could be ur child or wife think it's Mike on 2019 Honda van.
Whats the name of music?
First one

Why do people talk so much just work on it and show progress that your doing
The old can be scrapped for $
The Volvo car dashboards are equally ASSSS to remove/replace
I must say.i have a problem with backyard work. How bout you do 80,000 in it before you sell it. Then I have no problem. She's a mixed bag. Risky buy.
add more sound please the volume is too low.
Play on TV for volume.
@@barneyeckert9702 i do and the volume is still not even half the volume of other youtube
channels... ^__^;
You don’t seem very enthusiastic about this rebuild. Might it be too much this one. Will see I suppose.
Hurry up or covid will get me before you get done
Ok you definitely need to stop talking an do more work 🤦🏽♂️😂
