Hello I'm in Edmonton Alberta Canada when I was in grade six my teacher took us to the city dump for some strange reason I don't know why , one of the workers running a scraper like yours pulled up and asked who wants to go for a ride I was first to put my hand up so off I went . He took me for a little tour and on the way back he asked if I would like to drive. So here was driving this beast of a machine down a steep grade back to where picked me up and the look on the other kids faces was priceless now at 54 I'll never forget that day that was one hell of a story to tell my dad when I got home from school.
I wish I was 50 years younger and your Grand Son as that experience will stay with him for life. Jeff, you are the best grandfather on the planet. Awesome video.❤❤❤
Thanks for this video Jeff. I could feel the boys excitement driving the scrapper, how awesome. My grandpa had a '49 Ford model N tractor that I learned to drive at 9 years old. Never will I forget that. You're a good man Jeff.
Assuming that was a grandson at the helm there at the end. Loved seeing the 3 generations lined up during the unloading process. Kinda made my 61yrs young eyes misty. I recall seeing some video footage and or pictures in a video you posted some years back, with either Jake and or Matt, or your youngest (his name escapes me), operating equipment. Great video, Thank you sir.
Thanks for the video Jeff. Really brings back a lot of memories. I didn’t have a grandfather to teach me but definitely had a father who taught me the same things. I have the utmost respect and love for my dad. He was just an old school hard working and honest man. He taught us to be the same. Really appreciate all your videos and all the work you do. Keep up the good work!!
Jeff, I so wish I had a Grandson!! You are such a wonderful Grandfather to them, they will remember these times with you Forever!! God Bless You Dear Friend, Vic!!
I remember that look. I was in the Hospital for a week having the smile surgically removed from my face when I was 4 years old, and my grandfather finally turned me loose all by myself on the Farmall 450. 🤣👍
Good job young fellow, I remember my first time on a scraper, including the 2 minutes of instruction from my boss that he yelled at me while he hung off the side. I did my first run terrified, but I made it.
Im glad you got some help. After watching you struggle with the first one I was thinkin about jumping in the pu and running out there 1500 miles and give you a hand. Im old and retired and have hauled 637s back in the 80s. Mighta hauled one of them. I figured I could go help you and then go check oh Warren , dang radiator in a 690 eat his lunch. Heck he prolly could use some help too. Then I figured you were like most of these utubers and filmed that a month ago so I decided I would stay at home and just watch yall struggle . Yall just wore me plum out! Glad you got it done. No, I wasnt going to show up but I was thinking if I was there I could have helped you load it. Be Safe enjoy all your videos!
Hi Jeff, still enjoying your content, always interesting, your grandson will soak that up, he obviously trusts you, he could become a valuable team member for your company if he decides to pursue that career, that is how i got my own son interested in earthmoving and now he can hold his own in that type of work.
Nice work MrPayDirt, now the young bloke has driven the scraper you won’t be able to keep him out of it, good way to get around child labour laws as well. Cheers from down under.
Hello from San Antonio, TEXAS! Stupid question as I don't know but do both engines on the tractor scraper have to be on when you are making a simple leveled move?
Most every kids dream. My grandson is getting into operating heavy equipment. My farm tractors were not cool enough for him. But it was good training. 4th generation in training!
Cat found and bought back the first 657 scraper and cleaned it up and its sitting at the edge of the D building parking lot at the decatur plant. It does not even have rops on it, maybe it had one of those sunshade canopies at one time. Its a big girl at 160K ish lbs.
When you told him to hammer down and it jumped a couple gears and took off I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head as wide as they opened Lol... Good that you're still starting them young but in mine and your day you'd be starting him late, supposed to start them out before they get out of diapers. That way they're getting out of diapers as you're getting into diapers Lol...😉🤪😂
I'm still stuck, why not put spring breaks on the back trailer. Use the ramps. Use the air from the scraper or the tractor. And drive the front end on the other trailer. Please help me with what I'm missing.
Well done! Everyone his age should be able to handle a machine, carrying a grade comes with experience! Glad to see the west isn’t following the east example of waiting till they’re 22 to try to teach them something!

DID that lady shown in the passenger car have a cat attack on the highway?
@@FarmerTom-bz6tn This was one of the most funny things i've caught on camera, next time I'm going make a sign that says "show me your t_ts " LOL
The look on that boys face was priceless. Nothing beats the first time feeling of moving big iron. He's your next scraper operator now 😂

I love seeing the boy in the scraper. He didn’t know whether to shit his pants or smile.
Good job young fellow, I remember my first time on a scraper, including the 2 minutes of instruction from my boss that he yelled at me while he hung off the side. I did my first run terrified, but I made it.
Good job giving that young one some operating time! Hope it leads to him taking more interest in operating equipment..

@jtg2737 no, but you don't want to go very far as there's no lubrication for the transfer gear bearings
Great to see You with help moving this one Jeff. Best Wishes to Everyone at Anderson Construction.

16:32 Dam, that's that Switch Blade Turbo Grandad was going on about.
Good stuff
Best schoolday ever.
Jeff, which scrapers have switchblades now and which one has the newer higher HP direct injected rear 3306 power pack?
Fresh blood…. Cool!
What a great feeling to be a kid he's gonna remember this forever not every kid gets to do this
Look on his face,…priceless!
I'm still stuck, why not put spring breaks on the back trailer. Use the ramps. Use the air from the scraper or the tractor. And drive the front end on the other trailer. Please help me with what I'm missing.
Well, looks like Jeff is thinking about retiring🙂 training replacement
Better start looking for another scraper. Unless you’ve got one already!
Nice! What are you building out there?
Loading certainly was a lot easier with the team there to help.
Well done! Everyone his age should be able to handle a machine, carrying a grade comes with experience! Glad to see the west isn’t following the east example of waiting till they’re 22 to try to teach them something!
Very cool!
Jeff was that you when you started scraping?
Moves a lot faster with some help!!!
You ain’t a working man kid if you have no desire to drive big old iron. The bigger the better is what I liked.
