Thank you guys for sharing this video...I was working with him over the past few months to establish a social media presence and share more of his amazing talents with the world. Not only was he an incredibly talented rider, but he was a very special person as well and one we need to remember. Please do a Carlin Dunne edition of the new Streetfighter V4 because I would love to own one forever in his honor.
Jaret . . . through your work with Carlin seen on some of your videos posted online, I began to admire Carlin, and see what a great man he was, and what a positive role model for us all . . . and because of that connection you shared with us? this loss hits even harder . . . I gotta admit I shed a tear or two over this . . . he will be deeply missed . . .
Thank you so much for what you did. I went to school with Carlin and you did a great job of capturing his nature. It is all just so sad, but the memories you helped create will carry him on forever.
This video is the only exposure I've had to him. With only this video you can tell he was a very kind and passionate person. RIP. A special addition edition in his memory sounds like an amazing way to honour him.
Exactly the same feeling for me. I didn't want to click on it whole day, but I'm glad I did. Didn't know him, but watched a lot of his clips, such a lovely person :). Ride on Carlin!
RIP..... For the Future i wish you will replace the planned Pikes Peak version of the V4 Streetfighter in to an memorial Version of Carlin... It's so sad that this happens 😢
I agree. Ducati need to have a limited special run of the new streetfighter in memory of Carlin. Maybe the colour scheme he used with his signature on the bike somewhere?
If they donated the proceeds from the sales of a special Carlin Dunne version of the Streetfighter to either his family or some form of charity, that would be fantastic!
Kugel Hupf but what???? A Motorcycle commemorating someone who died on it? I don’t think you have an idea of how superstitious we Motorcyclers are...! We Italians will never do that! Also greater, way greater Champions died during races....
@@paponeable I'm a motorcyclist and Italian and, WOULD buy a limited edition, dedicated to Carlin. It isn't about who is a better motorcyclist either. Carlin Dunne was representing Ducati and was their poster boy for this event and their prototype streetfighter so they obviously picked him for a reason. If you believe in superstitious voodoo garbage then don't buy one. Plenty of others would, me included!
Only met him once in but he seemed like a top guy. I happened to be wearing a Honda t-shirt at the time and he gave me a Ducati shirt to put over it lol. RIP Carlin
Its weird - I just went from big twin Ducs to a Husqvarna single city bike but this situation and knowing how much Carlin did for the sport and brand, really does make me want to aquire a Streetfighter. Simply for the memory of - how much riding does bring joy to my life and in parallel the risks that it brings.
@@johnpark6138 I purchased a left over new 2017 1299 S in January, wanted the last Panigale twin.. in 3.5 months of riding, just under 7,000 miles. I am part of this bike.. Was planing on a V 4 street fighter next , NOW I must in memory of Carlin.. I will NEVER part with my 1299.
John Park I bought a Svartpilen 701 for my wife and have been breaking it in for her. Very fun to step back from the high hp bikes once in a while. I have a V4R, Speciale and Multistrada 1200ST. They are fun too, but sometimes the scenery goes away quicker than I want it to.
I am lost for words, what a loss.......he was engaged and absorbed with the team and his ride up till the end. I only hope in his own mind he had the summit and victory when he crashed. I wish his family and friends the consolation that he was doing what he loved, beyond that there is nothing I can add. God speed Carlin!
Thank you for sharing this video, this shows how humble and charismatic Carlin was. I still cannot assimilate he is gone. A great human, role model and friend. Missing you brother!
CycleCruza That’s the most cliched, Bullshit line anyone can ever say. 🙄🙄 We need more information on what happened , and how he died. What protections, if he was wearing any ether worked as it should or failed. Did he have an air Bag suit,? Would it have made a difference ??, was it head or body Trauma?? What happened?????, that way those of us who ride can learn from the accident.
S His “Full Race suit” should have had an AirBag, and then an air bag on top of that. Make it work, make it happen , if there’s that chance that you may fly off a fucking cliff, do what’s available to save your ass. And if he had an AirBag suit, and still died, we’ll shit happens 🤷♂️
He high sided after going over a bump, went over the bars, across the road and down 20-30 feet embankment. No one would of survived that, air bag suit or not. Thing is he was already done with Pikes Peak, winning it 3 times already. Ducati is who called him back to ride Pikes on their prototype V4 Street fighter. He was doing film work (what he went to school for) before Ducati called. Should of let him live his life Ducati, 3 Pikes Peak titles isn't enough for ya? Had to ask him to ride one more time and lose his life just for a V4 ' Pikes Peak Edition' huh?! Shame on you Ducati, you greedy fucks. If you didn't call Carlin, he would alive doing film work right now......if he finished he was set to beat the fastest time, but he didnt. He crashed and died, for a race he already won. Great job Ducati, great job!!!

Talented, humble, kind and caring. Was lucky enough to have known Carlin through mutual friends and love of riding. Such a quality human, he'll be dearly missed by so many.
His part in new world disorder 6 literally got me into downhill mountain biking at the age of 14 and I have been hooked ever since I’m now 28 years old and biking and motorcycles have became my obsession and my life. All inspired by Carlin dunne I thank you for pushing your limits and showing me what is achievable on two wheels if it wasn’t for his new world disorder 6 part idk who or where I would be today RIP Carlin dunne always a legend in my book Ride in peace my friend
One of the great things about social media these days . . . is to see the humanity, the humble quality, the gratitude that Carlin and other wonderful people exude . . . watching him in other videos online and seeing his gentle nature, his positive outlook, his "giving" spirit . . . literally in tears over this loss . . . he will be missed terribly . . .
Thank you for posting this Ducati..... Humility personified .... What a nice man , and what a terrible loss , not only to his closest but to 2 wheel fanatics across the globe ... ❤️
I never knew who Carlin was before reading of his departure, but the short insight to his Pikes Peak adventure has shown me what an amazing man he is. What a man, what a human. This guy is a role model
I never knew of Carlin until a few days ago while I watched the lead up to the Pikes Peak event. Then suddenly he is gone. As I watched some of the previous videos I was taken by what a sincere and warm guy he was. Never knew him but still got choked up watching this. To his heartbroken friends and family my heartfelt condolences to you, he was obviously a great man off the bike as much as on it. He will live on....and be loved I am sure.
I've never met this guy in person and i don't know much about him. But after watching his videos and seeing him being so passionate about motorcycles i can just say thank you and sorry for your loss. The planning, patience and hours put into this 1 run is stunningly amazing. I am so sorry for this loss and i truly wish there were more people like him with the passion and drive to do the things he did. R.I.P. Carlin and thank you for all you did.
Thank you for this. I met Carlin when he was barely old enough to race when he came out to Willow Springs with his dad. I will always remember him as being just a great dude. Some people are fast and some are genuinely wonderful people too. Carlin was at the highest level of both. What a great man he grew up to be. What a great ambassador of the sport. What a great example of the kind of person we should all strive to be. I'm honored and very fortunate to have known him. Rest in peace my fast friend.
Thank you for sharing this video. While this is incredibly hard to watch, knowing a tragic outcome is imminent, I couldn't help but feel warmed by Dunne's passion manifesting before a big event. To all the men and women who enter these events, stay safe out there in your pursuits of happiness and bliss.
this loss touched every ducatisti hearts in ways that many wont understand. we lost a true motorcyclist legend and more importantly a great great great human. RIP Carlin. your fan from Italy.
First time I came to see the hill climb, all the way from Belgium. Sad to hear......what a passionate personality. Condolences to the family and friends.
What a great guy, devastating lost, words can't describe, a true hero to those who ever had the pleasure of meeting him .The World will never be the same.Santa Barbara lost a local hero, RIP .I told everbody in my Ducati World how he had won the PIKE PEAK HILL CLIMB mulible times, just a terrible lost but never will be forgotten.
Never met him, but he comes across as a genuine, decent and thoughtful guy. Such a terrible loss for his family. Please know that everyone in the wider Ducati family has Carlin in our thoughts and prayers.
RIP Carlin. I was lucky enough to know him a little bit and participate in his memorial ride with all of his friends in Santa Barbara. He was a living legend and died with his boots on doing what he loved. He will forever be king of the mountain.
RIP Carlin. Deepest condolences to family friends and colleagues. The world is poorer place without you around, however, your spirit remains alive and kicking and provides a role model for those who follow. You enriched this life of ours. Thanks.
This is so heart breaking, but at the same time very empowering in some ways. Lots of mixed emotions. Rest In Peace Sir, you conquered a lot more than Pikes Peak
For me I know everyone got a plan and there is no accident, maybe you already know you have no time in this world so you just shared every bit of experience and set a bar above the clouds. Thank you champ, you will be missed
This breaks my heart - I never met him or knew about him at all. I was there; I watched him race past me and then only minutes later he was gone. I listened later that day to hear he had passed and cried. It still seems so surreal. He seemed like a great guy - RIP.
Ducati, What an amazingly talented rider and thoughtful person he was! You couldn't have a better brand ambassador, owning a Ducati dealership AND racing and winning on your bikes! Please honor him with something special...he truly deserves it! RIP Carlin...my best wishes go out to your friends and family. We lost a good man way too soon.
The way he talked about not looking back and being sure about the decisions you’ve made and how he felt good about the way the weekend was going and he was confident in the bike sounded like he was giving a farewell speech, and I’m sure if he were to he would’ve said the same things. I don’t know the guy but man he seems like one hell of a man to be able to be around, he will be missed, he passed doing what he loved.
Beautiful tribute. I think a great way to remember Carlin is through displaying his talent, passion, and what he worked so hard to achieve; releasing his record-setting run video just leaving out the accident at the end.
Didn't know him, but took the very first photos of 2019 PPIHC on Sunday morning (0830) at the Ducati booth. I was there for Porsche, but like anything fast. Ironically, one of the pictures shows him walking away with a backpack. Unbeknownst to anyone of us, 2 hours later he would be fighting for his life. I've watched numerous videos of his since to understand who he was. I have to say that he was a true mentor, sharing his knowledge of the road and 2-wheels to those of us aspiring bikers with an itch for speed. I've been considering the 696 Monster for several months and one day I will get on it and think of all the valuable advices he shared. RIP Brother, nothing divine dies all good is eternally reproductive.
I’m not a rider but I used to run into Carlin all the time at the Daily Grind on De La Vina in Santa Barbara. Always happy and positive guy, such a bummer we lost him. RIP Carlin.
Oh man, You know I didn't get the opportunity to befriend or even meet this outstanding brave man, but this brave accomplish man I speak of is the kind of human being this world desperately needs. Yet I didnt know him and I wish I could of gave him a hug, GODSPEED to this BRAVE young man..Too the MANUFACTURER this man represented, how honorable and special would it be to name a NEW model motorbike in honor of this OUTSTANDING man
I read an article on banning bikes at Pikes peak that spoke of Carlin's accident. I'd never heard of him before today but what a loss. From this one video you could tell he was a great guy and a class act. I shed a tear at the end. 😥
I just found Carlin's content last week and have been knocked flat by this tragic news. I've heard of many riders passing on but this one seems to hit me harder for some reason. I've got a feeling Carlin's Pikes Peak legacy will be huge.
Very very sad, from a modest Ducati family member and motorcycle enthusiast, my deepest condolences to the Dunne family and friends. RIP King of the Hill
"We're racing to the top... right there... that's the finish line" - nobody can finish any higher than you did my friend. Respect to you and love and peace to your family and friends.
RIP. Great video. The way he just says things and you us knowing what happened. I think the human soul just unknowingly knows when your time is coming. Truly sad.
#ForevertheKingCarlin Hard and beautiful to watch. So proud of him - as a racer, as a person! My ❤️ is still with his family and friends and team... Ducati - when the time is right - please share his brilliant final run with us, the helicopter footage. Respectfully. Even the accident - we all ride, we want to see how he lost traction... perhaps cut it as he leaves the bike... before the impact... forever the legend now... 😔😢✌️
I only recently started watching him and what he was about. Seemed very down to earth, humble and an all around relatable guy. If a bike were to be released in the same livery as in the promo videos and what he rode, with the number 5 on the tail changed to match the "machine turned" gold #5 on his helmet the day of his accident, I would buy it. I wanted the bike already but I would dish out extra for a tribute model, especially if a portion were to be donated to a foundation in his honor.
As a motorcycle rider (and a father) is always hard to watch these kind of videos. You never know when you're living your last day, do you? Can happen to anyone of us. R.I.P.
“All you can do is just talk yourself out of things when you’re sitting here idle, so you gotta stay moving. You think about all the things you didn’t do, all the things you could’ve done, second-guess decisions you made… So just sitting around… You can lose the race just sitting around. So here we are, we’re walking about.” Gave us a life lesson before he gave his life.
A great set of videos, but sad that things ended the way they did. So close, but yet so far from the finish line. A reminder of how fragile life can be when doing something that we love to do. RIP Carlin Dunne, and enjoy the rides in the sky.
I'm riding motorcycle since two weeks but I watched this guy since the New World Disorder Era! It feels like I knew Carlin for a lifetime now! I lost someone I looked up when I rode my bike and now as I ride moto! Totally heartbroken... RIP my nevermet friend!
RIP Carlin! Such incredibly sad news.. 😢 That stuff he’s says at 0:35, really got to me! I know he’s talking about prep for the race, but feels like he’s being very reflective and talking about life!
What a genuine person. I was at the race for my first time and remember this specific bike pushing so very hard and I thought wow, that guy is serious.
Although a year has passed, I'm still crushed and sad for his family and friends I never met Carlin, never been to Pikes peak But i hoped to do both Motorcycle class is over now ,as is this extraordinary man's life The racing world is a poorer place R.I.P Carlin Dunne See you on the other side
After watching his blogs into the final day I was shocked to read about the fatal accident. Carlin came across as a great down to earth guy who was living his dream. RIP
After I heard his loss of his life on last monday, I couldn't sleep until 4:30 am just to check and understand what went wrong on his record braking last run but haven't found any info other than the news mentioned about his accident. Ever since I've been praying for him and I beleive that it's a big loss, not only just for his family, fans and Ducati Family but also for motorcycle world as well. We will miss you Dear Carlin for sure. Ride in Paradise. RIP.
Life on the edge, one day you may just fall off. As I age I reflect back at all the chances I took, in bad weather, at night, on bad roads and now ride with all that behind me. The guy was on top of his game but like Joey and many others a time comes when you throttle back and watch the others pass by knowing what it's like to be in front but happy to just be. So sad for all he left behind.
It's so sad that the riding community and racing community lost such a great and humble rider. R.I.P. Carlin. You will be missed. I hope Ducati will make a limited edition of his bike in memory of Carlin.
Non ho parole una grande perdita per tutti sia per i suoi cari per amici e stimatori che riposi in pace tra i campioni dello sport perché lui era un grande campione anche di persona sicuramente 🙏🙏

I'm gonna miss you buddy. Ride high above the clouds now brother.
Rest In Peace.
Such a great guy, great heart. Few weeks ago I was watching his videos, can’t believe he’s gone and I feel like a lost a close friend. RIP Carlin.
I’m not a rider but I used to run into Carlin all the time at the Daily Grind on De La Vina in Santa Barbara. Always happy and positive guy, such a bummer we lost him. RIP Carlin.
Sad af 😢 RIP and thank you for your wonderful presence you left with everyone 🙏🏻
Oh man, You know I didn't get the opportunity to befriend or even meet this outstanding brave man, but this brave accomplish man I speak of is the kind of human being this world desperately needs. Yet I didnt know him and I wish I could of gave him a hug, GODSPEED to this BRAVE young man..Too the MANUFACTURER this man represented, how honorable and special would it be to name a NEW model motorbike in honor of this OUTSTANDING man
So poignant, the public outpouring has been huge, clearly a much loved and respected guy, thanks for publishing this.
Respect to you and love and peace to your family and friends.
that part really made a cold feeling through my spine
RIP Carlin. Your passing had all us heart broken but your legacy will live on forever.
It was an honor to know you my friend. So down to earth but with super human abilities. You will always be King of the Mountain... RIP Carlin
RIP. Great video. The way he just says things and you us knowing what happened. I think the human soul just unknowingly knows when your time is coming. Truly sad.
#ForevertheKingCarlin
Hard and beautiful to watch.
R.I.P. My condolences to the whole family and Ducati America. A big hug from Spain.
Come qualcuno in rete ha lanciato l'idea : una versione speciale, una dedica, un logo che lo ricordi sulla nuova Streefighter!
assolutamente 👍💗
Concordo in pieno,grazie carlin RIP
Sarebbe una bellissima idea
As a motorcycle rider (and a father) is always hard to watch these kind of videos. You never know when you're living your last day, do you? Can happen to anyone of us. R.I.P.
Thank you Ducati for making this video series about Carlin.
I haven’t followed Carlin long , but was recently inspired by his charisma and love of racing. Carlin and his family will be in my thoughts.
“All you can do is just talk yourself out of things when you’re sitting here idle, so you gotta stay moving. You think about all the things you didn’t do, all the things you could’ve done, second-guess decisions you made… So just sitting around… You can lose the race just sitting around. So here we are, we’re walking about.”
Gave us a life lesson before he gave his life.
A great set of videos, but sad that things ended the way they did. So close, but yet so far from the finish line. A reminder of how fragile life can be when doing something that we love to do. RIP Carlin Dunne, and enjoy the rides in the sky.
RIP brthr.. you'll be missed..😓
No words... Simply no words... Speechless 😓😓
RIP Carlin Dunne. Such a humble person with an amazing talent losing it all with what he loved doing. Never forget
Hard to watch - can't imagine what his family is going through. May you find comfort in a difficult time!!
This was heartbreaking to watch ..What a guy ! Strength to those who knew him and loved him !
Such a lovely guy 😢 RIP Carlin and please watch our back while we are riding
I'm riding motorcycle since two weeks but I watched this guy since the New World Disorder Era! It feels like I knew Carlin for a lifetime now! I lost someone I looked up when I rode my bike and now as I ride moto! Totally heartbroken... RIP my nevermet friend!
RIP. Legend. So talented yet so humble. A wonderful human being.
Make a Carlin model even with the same paintjob
I am wishing for the same. I will Purchase one for sure.
Rest in Peace mate. My sincerest condolences to your family, friends and team. Another man gone where all must go.
He was an asset to the motorcycling community, our country, and the human race. RIP sir, your name will be etched in history.
RIP Carlin! Such incredibly sad news.. 😢
That stuff he’s says at 0:35, really got to me! I know he’s talking about prep for the race, but feels like he’s being very reflective and talking about life!
Forever immortalized in pikes peak folklore... RIP Carlin Dunne!
What a genuine person. I was at the race for my first time and remember this specific bike pushing so very hard and I thought wow, that guy is serious.
Although a year has passed,
I'm still crushed and sad for his family and friends
I never met Carlin, never been to Pikes peak
But i hoped to do both
Motorcycle class is over now ,as is this extraordinary man's life
The racing world is a poorer place
R.I.P Carlin Dunne
See you on the other side
After watching his blogs into the final day I was shocked to read about the fatal accident. Carlin came across as a great down to earth guy who was living his dream. RIP
RIP to this great racer. He pushed it to the limit and died doing what he loved.🙏
Deep condolence from the bottom of my heart 🙏
Rest in Peace, brother. What an amazing energy Carlin had.
RIP.
I remember you from MTB Disorder 5/7 profile many years ago... Such a great guy, Rest in Peace Carlin.
Thank you for sharing his story on this day. :(
Really sad. May his soul rest in peace. May Almighty give strength to his family
💔 great guy and one hell of a rider. He will be missed. I believe he’s now rippin the turns in heaven now. Rest easy sir.
I had this deep ache in my heart the whole way through this video.. What a terrible thing to happen to such a great man.
RIP friend, respect from Canada🙏
We All Love you, Carlin...
Rest In Peace...😇
Amazing soul and great video capture of his last free day on in this existence! Fly on Carlin~"~
