Nunez is £64m initial fee, add-ons of £12.8m on appearances and £8.5m on team success. When you break it down like that it seems like a perfectly reasonable deal
@@Lee-ye3ev Without Nuñez performing Liverpool won't hit those team success add-ons, so he's worth the initial gamble and if he performs to that higher level then he'll be worth the add-ons to make it £80m
the fact that this Liverpool club is dropping €100M on Nunez is scary given how well the club is run. I feel like klopp wants to evolve the attack with firmino dropping even deeper instead of replacing hendo with a like for like, and then returning to his 4231 like he had at Dortmund with a goal scoring out and out 9
My thoughts exactly. We came up short in the 3 x finals we played this year as well, 0 goals in those games so I think there will be a system change coming.
@@DeviantDevdog Exactly, klopps no idiot, he knows an evolution will breathe new life into this team. I do feel like Nunez is very similar to mane stylistically when mane plays through the middle too
Pair fab in mid with someone else and play Bobby or Elliot in the number 10. Low blocks really kill us last season especially on the off chance when the opposition actually manage a lucky counter attack
Zac is absolutely enormous. God he's a giant. Great show as always though. Also, can yall suggest new topics for Joe's we need to talk? Getting a lil tired of the ranking videos😂
Have these even watched nunez? He's played in the left and can play in the channels to rotate. Mentioning that Liverpool are basically going for nunez because they didn't get touchameni is incorrect, its because minamino and mane are leaving and origi has left.
Totally agree - and then to praise Real Madrid for strengthening other area of the squad (getting Touchameni when they missed Mbappe) was confusing when Liverpool are critised for looking to a forward when they miss out on a midfielder.
They also question whether he could play against premier league defenses 🤔. He played against Liverpool twice in the champions league last season and scored in both games. Even van Djik has since said that he was a handful.
He’s 8 years younger then Mane and is going to be on half the wages iswell it makes sense to me especially when there’s a player out there who has that quality you can’t just force a move for a midfielder because we missed out on touchameni, one thing about Klopp is he never forces it and is always patient if he needs to wait a window for the player that he wants to become available i.e a bellingham he would rather do that then panic buy a player who won’t improve that position
They always get their calls on Liverpool wrong anyway, a simple fix would be hiring a Liverpool fan to sort them out and give them a reality check on Liverpool - if they're saying swerve, we know this signing is going to absolutely bang. Also who are they to say that Liverpool aren't looking at midfielders too?
@@philiptaylor2950 @Gary Gernon @Safwaan Ali Yeah but the values are not the same. Also I would add that nunez has only had 1 good season in Portugal. Paying something close to 100 million for a player like that is a big risk imo and not at all how Liverpool usually do business this past years. Tchouameni to Real makes more sense to me. The fee is lower and they need to renew that midfiled, Modric and kroos are great but they won't last forever and I am sure they still have enough money avaiable to make 1/2 big signings to cover the holes they have in their 11 (right winger and left back/centralback). That being said I do think Nunez seems a good player and would fit really well in the liverpool tactic plus Luis Diaz only had half of a great season and did great for Liverpool. I just think that the fee numbers don't add up. Usually liverpool spend those kind of millions in players that you know will be one of the best in the world (Van dick and Allison) and I don't think nunez is the same level as them, atleast is seems to early to know that he is.
Julian Ward’s first transfer was Diaz. He’s been working alongside, Michael Edwards for the past 12 months & was put in charge of getting Diaz to Liverpool as the original transfer for him was lined up for this summer.
I'm pretty sure Pat said first MAJOR transfer. Diaz was unexpectedly absolutely phenomenal as soon as he arrived but let's be honest, he was meant to be a squad option. But putting Nunez will be the first big fee player by Ward so the point stands
I just want to say, although I’ve never been a fan of Zac, he was very decent in the Núñez segment and shows how much he’s developed as a member on these discourse shows. He’s absolutely right on how Nuñez doesn’t need to hit the ground running like say, Lukaku had to. Chelsea bought Lukaku because we all saw there was a distinct lack of goals in the team and too much responsibility was being placed on the wingbacks to score. For Núñez he doesn’t need to bear all our goal scoring needs because we’re already really good at scoring, at most he just needs to match Mane’s tally. And the off the ball attributes he’ll bring like occupying defenders on the box and providing more space for Diaz and Salah to score will be pivotal. Also I don’t think a midfielder and attacker are as binary as Joe and Pat make it out to be- I’m sure we prioritized Tchouameni but after being priced out we figured it’d be better to secure Núñez first and then focus on the midfielder once more movement starts across Europe. Perhaps if LFC waited to get a midfielder in before Núñez we would’ve missed out on him, so it’s better to seal it early.
Pat’s last point about Scamacca’s technical ability and numbers is interesting especially in contrast to Kalasjdzic’s. I haven’t watched a ton of Sassuolo’s nor Stuttgart’s matches, but according to FBRef, Kalajdzic’s numbers paint a very different profile, and highlights don’t really seem the same either. Similar physical specimens, both aerial scoring threats, get into good attacking positions on counters and set pieces, but Scamacca’s numbers reflect much more of a scoring threat, while Kalajdzic is more of a facilitator. Scamacca far ahead in total shots, SoT, NPG, and Kalajdzic better in shot creating actions, xA, and npxG+xA. That said, IMO Scamacca‘s highlights show a lot of technical promise. Good aerial and ground control, some creative flair, and significantly better passing stats than Tammy Abraham; who’d cost a similar fee. Plus he’s able / willing to drop deep. To receive and bring play forward. Looks faster than Kalajdzic too. Comparing fees Kalajdzic might seem cheaper-for-similar option, but Scamacca is ~1.5 years younger AND has a better goal scoring record + almost double the top league experience, AND has more penalty + free kick ability. If Arsenal is to continue building a title competitive side, more money on proven-quality starters and depth players is necessary. IMO, Scamacca at his larger fee is more worth it than Kalajdzic at his. Ofc, I’d prefer they threw as much money as necessary at Nkunku or a middle-Scamacca price option of Schick to go with Jesus as possible, but those seem exponentially less likely. If we can only secure one striker, Jesus. If two are possible (with enough budget for Tielemens), Jesus and Scamacca. But Jesus and Tielemens should remain top priorities.
I see the Nunez signing as Klopp expanding his 'systems' repertoire. Nunez could operate within the 433, but also as a sole striker in a 4231 when needed.
Only 4minutes in but he mentions nkunku as perhaps being a safer bet than Nunez, Nkunku is 2 years older and this is the first season he’s scored more than 6 league goals 😅 klopp saw him up close and personal and liked what he saw. Luis Suarez scored 15 league goals in 44 games. A slow start but look how he turned out. Let’s give Darwin time to grow. We bought him for now but also for the potential he has. He scored 6 champs league goals and they was against big clubs. So he definitely has something about him
Love the fact that the english media believe that Barcelona aren’t trying to figure out the financial mess. It’s really does my head in how stupid the general view on Barcelona is. 5 quick statements: 1. Barcelona generate more money than ANY premier league club (except for Man U) 2. The money Barcelona earn cannot be spend because of the huge dept of 500 million euros 3. La liga is the only reason Barcelona isn’t able to sing or register players. La liga has the most strict financial rules of any of the top 5 leagues (wich is bullshit) and has put Barcelona under a 1:3 rule, that states Barcelona can only spend 33% of the income they on player sales (100 million for frenkie would give us 33 million to spend) This rule will only be removed when Barcelona has paid their 500 million dept 4. The club is working tirelessly to fix this and trying to find some economic levers to pay the 500 million in dept…the club decided to sell 49% of Barcelona merchandise for 250 million euro and 15% of Barcelona’s tv rights for 250 million euros 5. These levers will be activated as soon as the socies vote for them to be activated. When that happens Barcelona in theory would be operating as a “normal” football club again Plz British media, stop being so delusional and self-centred
Fantastic explanation, Friend! I don’t understand why so many people are ignorant regarding Barca’s situation. All this information is readily available, you just have to look it up, yeah? Anyway, thanks for putting it so concisely!
I just dont understand why people think that we wont sign midfielder also :D Liverpool just rushed Nunez so that United dont get him and so Mane can leave after this is done, Liverpool have a lot of time to get the right midfielder in.
@@nikolasavic1525 Bro there is a thing called inflation which is spreading with scarry temps right now. Also there are very few good options for strikers this summer so this is also a thing that increases the price.
Although Henderson and Thiago are aging, they still have the quality. Klopp have tried to mold Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott into that midfield for the last few seasons. No reason to see why he would not continue that trend next season. With Jones, Elliott, Keita, Milner, Carvalho, maybe even Firmino as backup for a midfield 3 we would have enough cover imo.
Top Pod as Always. Just a suggestion, maybe mix it up for next week's show? Transfer discussion about big moves is getting a bit repetitive. Maybe do a retro episode building best XI from past Era's, similar to the format you guys did for picking the best free agent XI's. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good content 🤝🏼
9:30 how have I not even thought of this, Frenkie de jong at Liverpool would be a force of nature and opposition teams could only shiver and hope for the best.
De Jong's Pressures, tackles and interceptions numbers aren't good enough for Liverpool, that was the reason they were going for Tchouemeni. It's more likely they would go for low profile players like a Caqueret from Lyon or Bennacer from Milan
Your take on Barca’s winger situation tells me that haven’t watched Barca play since Xavi took over. Yes Barca do have many wide options, but out of all the ones who staying none of them are creative and none them are right wingers. Ansu plays of the left and he’s more of a finisher then a creater (and Xavi sees him as a striker) Ferran Torres plays of the left, and all his creation comes from well timed runs. Auba is a striker and doesn’t create at all Memphis does create, but he plays through the center and occasionally off the left. Gavi is a midfielder, not a winger and when he was used on the wing, he was used of the left wing The only wide creation Barca had since xavi took over was dembele, alba and adama. And two of those options are leaving. It has been reported in Barca media that if they don’t sign a right winger this summer, then Abde will the starting option at right winger next season, which isn’t good enough if you want to compete for titles. I will admit that the raphinha signing seems unrealistic since leeds stayed up. Your take would make sense if Dembele was staying but he isn’t so Barca differently need a right winger. It probably end up being Di Maria.
@Ernesto Zavala I wanted to comment on that as well, but felt I had written enough. Also in January when Barca signed Auba they said they didn’t understand the move because they believed he was finished, and now they saying “why are Barca trying to sign lewandowski” their opinions on Barca never line up. They are such prem merchants.
Is nkunku really that much more of a safer bet that nunez? You could say there's been far more transfers from the Portuguese league that have transferred successfully to prem football than bundesliga players in recent years. Although I do think nkunkus style suits Liverpool more.
i think Nunez for 70-80 million would be fine. if they can talk Benfica down to like 70 million + 15-20 million in add-ons that would be a good deal. he has the potential to be a star. he's big, fast, a good dribbler, and a good passer. and it seems like his finishing improved this past season. i think Liverpool should get the deal done if they can sign him and still have money to potentially add a solid midfielder as well.
I think Chelsea should look at Gouiri, Jesus, Dembouz for attackers. Sangare, Palacios, Camara (Salzburg), Fofana (Monaco) in midfield. Obviously Kounde is heavily linked. We should take a punt with Koulibaly and try ease in Colwill. Some other defenders as well depending on how things go
Barca are losing Dembele a RW and Zac is talking about not needing one because we have Depay, Fati, Auba all who prefer playing on the left. Pat even mentioned Gavi and Ferran Torres both are not elite wingers in the slightest.
i think you guys should actually look into the barca finacial situation if you are going to keep talking about them.500m must be generated to get back to the 1:1 rule that normal clubs are on which if the socios votes agree on would be settled plus some with these economic levers. every club is in debt were not in financle ruin were just restricted by laligas rules
Thank you somome actually laying the facts about Barca and not just "what are they thinking? Their broke". As a comment here said it's lazy coverage. Also Joe doesn't seem to understand the concept of having squad depth to compete, hes acting as if signing 28+ year old players is a crime and that Barca are meant to have a full starting XI of Under 20's playes
Such cliche nonsense. They need another striker, Mane wants to go, Firmino will leave and Mo may or may not go in 1 year. If they sign him now, he has time to settle, he is not expected to hit the ground running. Which is how we like to do things. He is 100 mil because he has a sell on value. 5 years time, he's 27 and can sell him for full value. Plus they will get 50 mil for Minamino and Mane. Liverpool need a midfielder, but not a replacement for Hendo, you can see there is a plan for Elliott and Cavarlho, Jones too. They want Bellingham, he's not moving this year. It makes sense to wait till next year. They will buy a defensive midfielder... Sangare is being touted. He makes for a good backup for Fabinho. The Liverpool midfield has experience and 3 really exciting youngsters, Elliot, Jones and Cavarlho. It's exciting.
The take on Liverpool and Nunez is terrible. They probably wouldn’t be going for him if mane was staying. Mane stays, sees out his contract, leaves next year, Liverpool spend 40million as usual on his replacement who’s a raving success and everyone says Liverpool have done it again. Well their basically bringing that forward and saying Jurgen by the way where going to get 30mil for mane so if you want to buy someone who’s 70 mil go ahead. Also have you not watched Liverpool in transfers over the last years, I know 100mil sounds good for the press but it’s euros and they will prob able pay 60 and then add ons which are based on success, which will be worth it if he’s successful. Your basically looking at a 40mil transfer which is the bracket they usually shop in. If mane stayed and they still bought Nunez at that price then some of your points might be valid but to be honest when do they get transfers wrong Klopp knows what he is doing.
Well liverpool losing origi and firmino not being the same player he used to be kind of makes the forward line more of a priority than the midfield since they have curtis jones and elliots that are bedding in well in midfield already
My left field shout for a young English squad player for City's midfield to add to their home grown quota would be for them to go back to Villa for Jacob Ramsey. He is hugely underrated and has such a high ceiling. Pep could easily and quickly mold him into the sort of versatile player who plays his own style! Would be better than spending 60 million quid on Kalvin Phillips and he has his friend and former mentor/captain Jack Grealish there already as well! I think he could be developed into a player who can play as a mix of all four of 6, 8, 10 & covering full backs because he is still so young to be a blank canvass for Pep! Still growing physically as well! I think Villa would sell him for circa 35m-45m, if not less. Then they would use that money to get one of Gerrard's other targets as he clearly wants to bring in his own players more than he wants to keep any of the decent players he has inherited!
What are you smoking that villa would sell Ramsey cheap? No chance. He's just signed a new deal and Gerrard loves him. No way Villa would even entertain offers but even if they did you would be looking at 60 million plus
Pat saying its strange Liverpool are signing a forward after missing out on a midfielder then 10 minutes later saying he loves how Madrid have missed out on mbappe so moved those funds to sign a player in a different position is a bit weird no ?
Lads, the window is not closed yet. Midfield enforcement will still come in for Liverpool & City will further strengthen. The top 2 might just run away and do their own thing again next season
Not sure why everyone is saying Liverpool should buy a midfielder instead of Nunez? All the talk from Journos out of Liverpool is that there will also be a midfielder signed on top of Nunez. It's not one or the other, Liverpool have the finances to do it and it's the first summer since Klopp signed his new contract so it makes sense this would be a big summer.
The thing about the fee for Nunez, and I know I'm not alone here as a Liverpool fan. I don't care how big it is. Mainly because FSG aren't a club that give the manager a set transfer budget every year and let the manager go wild with it. For the most part Klopp has brought in a lot of money through sales since he got the job. The wage bill at the club is not astronomically high and we do well in Europe so the financial situation of the club is very secure. What I'm saying is if we don't sign Nunez for 100 mill then it's not like Klopp will still have 100 mill to spend. So it's not like for instance he has a 100 mill transfer budget and he's blowing it on one player. I just look at it like the board are finally putting a bit of cash back into the club and we get a new striker and he's really good and I could care less about the fee. Also if we gave Mane a 300k per week four year deal that's a lot of money on the books. We're talking over sixty million right there. Nunez will probably get half that, so that's a 30 million saving along with a potential 40 million fee for Mane. So then you're paying around 30 mill for a 22 year old replacement who's only going to get better while Mane declines.
At this rate, Newcastle will win a UCL before PSG. They’ll show them that you need to spend your money on a coherent team and not Superstars. They should’ve let Mbappe go, sold Neymar and kept Messi. Get Sterling and a good striker or move Messi to CAM and get a whole new frontline with 2 workhorses behind Messi cause the frontline would press as well.
What good would letting Mbappe go bring to the club? He's got a decade of being arguably the best in the world ahead of him. I agree with selling Neymar, I think his window as one of the top 5-10 players in the world has closed and they should just get something back for him. They need better CBs and DMs, they're sorted with that along with signing Zidane.
Madrid probably needs a RB more than LB because Mendy injury record is quite similar to Carvajal but we have Alaba a bit more freed up because of Rudiger, Miguel G is decent aswell
Problem is that whenever you have Conte, you can't just assume he'll be part of the plan for the long term because he's never stayed for too long so you have to consider whether the player fits in the squad even w/o Conte.
About the Barca situation, the Lewan rumours starts after Leeds seems to be able to survive this season. This means their budgets are around 25-30 mil. If they sell Frankie for 60 up front, it will enable them to register new players, and maybe add 10-15 more to the transfer budget. Hence, it will be either Raphinha or Lewan, not both. Edit: let's face it, Ferran Torres has not performed well in the last 10 games of the season, Dest is dull, Depay does not suit Xavi's ideal wingers, same for Auba, and Gavi last time playing in wings for Xavi were not as effective as his usual CM role. So the real choice for the wings are Fati, Pedri and Dembele. If Dembele leaves, it make senses to buy Raphinha
@@hopperoonsterrino3448 In normal time, yes. But with Barca current financial situation, the board are really tempted at 85. Xavi also does not want to sell, so it's up to the board now.
Liverpool bringing in a player that is more of an out and out striker is not out of the ordinary, they played with Firmino who doesn't interchange on the left or the right and that system worked well for them
Nunez is moving for £68m with potentially £20m in add-ons over the next 5 years. Where's this £100m coming from? The above fee in total is equivalent to 98m euros.
@@krish4246 Not at amortised cost it's not. Also in GBP it's a maximum of £84m as it has been confirmed today the initial fee is actually £64m Stop misrepresenting currency. £1 is not the same as €1
Funny how people criticize Klopp and LFC. Just look at their recruitment. No signing is guaranteed, so will just have to wait and see. Also, is it possible for this lot to be accurate with their facts; €80 million (approx £68 million) plus add ons. However, I do think we need to strengthen our midfield though.
Think Nunez is a good signing anyway as it means other teams can’t sign him that need a good striker e.g. Man United or Chelsea. Also there aren’t many good strikers especially young that can move this summer and I think Liverpool aren’t really banking on him hitting the ground running as he’s still young so he can still learn and will be elite in the future.
@@piperzl1997 United are linked to every single player...do you honestly think United would sign a centre forward for nearly 100m whilst they have Ronaldo and have massive issues in midfield to fix...honestly stop reading transfer rumours they are just click bait
Hay guys thoughts on richarlison going to spurs? 51mil I'm scratching my head at it I'm a toffee but I'm resign to losing him now just see spurs as an odd destination..
I think people are massively overestimating how much money Nunez is costing Liverpool, he’s joining for 100 mil Euros which is 85mil pounds and only 65 of that is upfront plus he’s on less than 100k a week ( less than half of what mane would be on if they gave him a new deal ) overall Haaland for example will cost city more money than Nunez will cost Liverpool because of the massive wages he’ll be on
The Barca board and it’s fans keep blaming Bartomeu and his staff for ruining the club but the new board is doing the exact same thing the last one did except now they don’t have Messi to keep the entire organization afloat
No they are not, stop talking out of your ass.Barca is going for low cost marquee signings and free transfers precisely because of the financial situation.Di Maria,Lewandowski,Kessie,Christensen. These are all low cost signings and free transfers that can short term help the team while we develop young players like Gavi,Fati,Balde,Torre, etc.
@@generalaladeen1159 how exactly are DiMaria, Kessie and/or Christensen “marquee” signings/targets? And how is targeting and offering $50m for a 33yr old Lewa on the last year of his contract a low cost/free transfer? How’s it different from what the last presidency would’ve done? Even targeting overpriced players like Raphinha/Neves is something the last presidency would’ve gotten shit for
AWFUL takes on the Nunez deal. Firstly, Mané, Minamino and Origi are leaving, how can you say we don’t need a forward? Next, comparing him to Lukaku and saying pressure will hinder him, classic Chelsea bias by Zac, Lukaku isn’t performing because he’s a lazy, egotistical bastard, not because of his price tag, Liverpool don’t sign players with attitude problems Finally, why is Nunez being called an £100mil deal, it’s only £100mil in pounds even if you including add ons and six years of wages, if we’re going down that route then Lukaku is £51mil + £40mil in agent fees + at least £10mil in adding + £100 mil in wages over 5 years so around £200mil in total
If Spurs are so set on a left footed CB, is Nathan Ake not an option? IMO starts for the majority of Premier League teams, fairly certain he worked with Conte previously at Chelsea? Along with the fact that City have apparently told him he would be allowed to leave.
Sangaree Enzo Fernandez and De Jong with the return of Garner and keeping McFred is enough squad depth at United for next season then look at a cheap prolific striker like Scammaca or Kalajdzic as well as either a CB or RB
Inter were indeed a better side than Milan this season if you watched 0 games in Serie A. This Patrick guy has some insane takes. Sterling > Mane is another one!
Inter have been better than AC Milan. Points totals are not complete reflections all the time. If you replayed the season 100 times, Inter come out on top more often. Their xPoints total was considerably higher. And he never said Sterling was better than Mane, he said he was a better investment. Maybe try to understand what he’s saying before spewing off.
@@MashiatCOD99 If Milan has been top of the league for 30 out of 38 matchdays I can clearly say they have been the better team. They got clutch and a bit lucky in some games but Inter were literally gifted points in at least 2 occasions during the season which would have resulted in way worse ranking. On the other hand Milan were penalized this season by referees in at least 2 games but you would need to be carefully observing the Serie A in order to know that and just watching at statistics and saying Inter should have won Serie A is an incredibly bad take by a pundit. It shows they have no clear idea of what happens in that league and therefore their opinion deserves zero attention. Inter had 3 good performing players this season and that was visibly not enough for a title. Milan currently possess the most expensive Serie A squad due to he fact each individual improved this season and carried the team to the title. But If you only watch premiership and haven't been observing the whole season that just went by I can understand people being biased towards Inter based on merits from past seasons which play no part the current competition. The Sterling one, obviously even in the studio he got an immediate reaction, and I'm glad people do confront him usually whenever he says something that makes less sense.
Nunez isn't going for 100 million, he's going for 61 million plus potentially 20 million in add ons according to Fabrizio Romano. That's worth a shot for me
Still overpriced for a one season wonder. Liverpool fans are the gift that keeps on giving. They slate United for spending 80 million on Maguire, slate City for spending 100 million on Grealish, but then try and justify Liverpool spending 80 million on a one season wonder in a farmers league. Literally couldn't make it up.
@@Lee-ye3ev I'm happy to explain it for you. Liverpool don't have as much money as clubs like Man Utd or Man City. We have to sell players in order to sign them. Over the last decade, Man Utd have spent 1,5 billion euro, Man City have spent 1,7 billion, and Liverpool 1,1 billion. That's 400 million and 600 million less. But where the big difference is is player sales. City have sold players for 700 million, and Utd only 470 million. That leaves their net transfer spend at Utd: 1,1 billion, and City: 1 billion. Liverpool in the same time have sold players for 800 million and have a net transfer spend of 347 million. That's roughly equivalent to Newcastle and West Ham, and almost a hundred million less than Everton. Let's get that straight, both City and United have essentially net spent more than two and half times the amount that Liverpool have. That's a huge difference, whichever side you stand on. When United or City buy players, they just buy them. They don't need to worry about the finances. They are covered from insanely rich owners. When Liverpool sign someone, they have to cover it with the sales of other players, as we will do with the sales of Mane, Minamino, and likely Oxlade-Chamberlain as well. This is where the frustration comes from with Liverpool supporters. That's why there is a significant difference in United buying someone for 80 million or City for 100 million, and Liverpool doing the same. Liverpool cover the cost with other players, United and City simply send over a receipt to their owners.
@@Lee-ye3ev my man, it's hardly a farmers league. The last five years saw three different winners and it hasn't had a repeat winner in 6 years. This last year it went up in the coefficient ranking to 5th place. But yeah I agree, it was a big fee. Not the 100 million euro fee everyone was reporting, and we don't know what the 20 million in bonuses applies to, but regardless it was a large fee for a relatively unproven player. I do, however, trust Liverpools scouting and analyst teams and if they felt that price could be justified, I back them on that. Same thing was said about Salah and van Dijk, and they turned out alright. We'll just have to wait and see
It’s £84m for Nunez not £100m. So let’s not compare with Lukaku and Grealish with this price, ignoring that it’s €100m not pounds. He’s less than United paid for Pogba five years ago…
And 2 of those were proven in the Premier league and pogba along with Neymar was the best talent in world football at the time. 84 million for a player from the Portuguese league who massively overperformed his xg so likely wouldn't repeat that in Portugal let alone England is mental
@@mitchellbrough1615 Pogba wasn’t proven was he? United let Juve take him for free because he couldn’t get a look in. He never played in the Premier League. United bought him back totally unproven in Premier League. Also I don’t disagree with you on Nunez. I’m worried about it. But the argument is the price, which I’m pointing out is nowhere near £100m. But Pogba cost more than Nunez and was a total failure.
@@ShaunLevett no pogba wasn't Premier league proven but like I said (which you just chose to ignore) he was one of the top two talents (along with neymar) in the world at that time. 84 million isn't that far from 100 and pogba was 89 which is the same ballpark as 84. The Italian league is a much better league than the Portuguese league.
@@mitchellbrough1615 so you’re argument basically is Pogba was one of the best players in the world and cost a packet, then was a massive failure. Panned out ok didn’t he?
@@ShaunLevett no you're taking the smallest part of my original reply and running with that😂. its not a smart transfer, everything about him suggests a massive drop off for him next season. But keep focusing on small parts of my argument like pogba and ignore everything else I said👍
Why do they think Liverpool need a midfield player other than that there was rumors of Bellingham? Liverpool signed Carvalho, they have, Thiago, Fabinho, Hendo, Harvey, Jones, Ox, Keita... and others??? Liv are losing three strikers this summer!
Nunez is going to cost £68 mil tho. The add ons only happen if he’s banging in goals and we win things. I would rather try to sign Bellingham for 80 tbh, we need to replace Henderson so badly.
@@milannn6799 I’d say Bellingham needs another year or 2 of consistent game time and developing a bit more physically before going to Liverpool. But trust me I’d definitely want him and he’d be just as good or better than Tchouameni since we missed out on him.

Nunez is £64m initial fee, add-ons of £12.8m on appearances and £8.5m on team success. When you break it down like that it seems like a perfectly reasonable deal
And it’s 6 years. Plus I’m guessing his wages won’t be ridiculous.

No it doesn't. He hasn't done anything to warrant being worth £80 million.

Pat is back!!!
Klopp is evolving the front 3, the false 9 role seems to be ending in Liverpool nd city, plus the price is the going price for strikers now
I see the Nunez signing as Klopp expanding his 'systems' repertoire.
So he definitely has something about him
Crazy how many people don’t know the difference between £100 and €100
I do but im confused how much is nunez in euros and how much was vvd in euros?

Love the fact that the english media believe that Barcelona aren’t trying to figure out the financial mess. It’s really does my head in how stupid the general view on Barcelona is. 5 quick statements:
1. Barcelona generate more money than ANY premier league club (except for Man U)
2. The money Barcelona earn cannot be spend because of the huge dept of 500 million euros
3. La liga is the only reason Barcelona isn’t able to sing or register players. La liga has the most strict financial rules of any of the top 5 leagues (wich is bullshit) and has put Barcelona under a 1:3 rule, that states Barcelona can only spend 33% of the income they on player sales (100 million for frenkie would give us 33 million to spend)
This rule will only be removed when Barcelona has paid their 500 million dept
4. The club is working tirelessly to fix this and trying to find some economic levers to pay the 500 million in dept…the club decided to sell 49% of Barcelona merchandise for 250 million euro and 15% of Barcelona’s tv rights for 250 million euros
5. These levers will be activated as soon as the socies vote for them to be activated. When that happens Barcelona in theory would be operating as a “normal” football club again
Plz British media, stop being so delusional and self-centred

Although Henderson and Thiago are aging, they still have the quality. Klopp have tried to mold Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott into that midfield for the last few seasons. No reason to see why he would not continue that trend next season. With Jones, Elliott, Keita, Milner, Carvalho, maybe even Firmino as backup for a midfield 3 we would have enough cover imo.
Botman does not want to go to Newcastle but lille want to ship him to Newcastle because they offered 55 million compared to Milan’s 30 million.
I think West Ham £100m upfront for Rice but with Nunez, LFC is giving a €100m package which is £85m. £64m upfront and £21m as add-ons.

For a long term project to replace Henderson? Sure
Your take on Barca’s winger situation tells me that haven’t watched Barca play since Xavi took over.
Yes Barca do have many wide options, but out of all the ones who staying none of them are creative and none them are right wingers.
Ansu plays of the left and he’s more of a finisher then a creater (and Xavi sees him as a striker)
Ferran Torres plays of the left, and all his creation comes from well timed runs.
Auba is a striker and doesn’t create at all
Memphis does create, but he plays through the center and occasionally off the left.
Gavi is a midfielder, not a winger and when he was used on the wing, he was used of the left wing
The only wide creation Barca had since xavi took over was dembele, alba and adama.
Some other defenders as well depending on how things go
Chelsea should look into Lewandowski as a striker for sure.
Fantastic content. Look forward to it every week! Big up the FD boys
Barca are losing Dembele a RW and Zac is talking about not needing one because we have Depay, Fati, Auba all who prefer playing on the left. Pat even mentioned Gavi and Ferran Torres both are not elite wingers in the slightest.

Sadly only those with common sense would comprehend your comment. But then again most of football fans are lacking it…..
Hope Pat gets his voice back. Great episode once again

Madrid probably needs a RB more than LB because Mendy injury record is quite similar to Carvajal but we have Alaba a bit more freed up because of Rudiger, Miguel G is decent aswell
Spurs have to spend that 150 million before the end of the season or the owners won’t see an increase in ownership stakes.
I think Pau Torres would be good at Spurs just because of Conte he'll push him so much
Problem is that whenever you have Conte, you can't just assume he'll be part of the plan for the long term because he's never stayed for too long so you have to consider whether the player fits in the squad even w/o Conte.
Darwin Nunez fee confirmed by The Athletic and Paul Joyce at The Times as £64m, not €100m.

AWFUL takes on the Nunez deal. Firstly, Mané, Minamino and Origi are leaving, how can you say we don’t need a forward?
Next, comparing him to Lukaku and saying pressure will hinder him, classic Chelsea bias by Zac, Lukaku isn’t performing because he’s a lazy, egotistical bastard, not because of his price tag, Liverpool don’t sign players with attitude problems
Finally, why is Nunez being called an £100mil deal, it’s only £100mil in pounds even if you including add ons and six years of wages, if we’re going down that route then Lukaku is £51mil + £40mil in agent fees + at least £10mil in adding + £100 mil in wages over 5 years so around £200mil in total

Sangaree Enzo Fernandez and De Jong with the return of Garner and keeping McFred is enough squad depth at United for next season then look at a cheap prolific striker like Scammaca or Kalajdzic as well as either a CB or RB
Joe's t-shirt made me realise that Cantona looks like Ted Bundy
They already got carvalhjo in January and have Elliott returning in the mid
Also it's not £100m, it's €75m with €100 reachable with add ons.
@@Tom-lr1if Regardless, there's no justifying paying 80 million for a guy who's had one good season in a farmers league
We'll just have to wait and see
@@Tom-lr1if The Portuguese league is definitely a farmers league mate.
So Nunez who will cost less will also be a failure for some reason because he’s not in the top 2 strikers in the world and come from Portugal? Ok got it. Luiz Diaz also came from Portugal. Panned out ok didn’t he?
@@ShaunLevett no you're taking the smallest part of my original reply and running with that😂. its not a smart transfer, everything about him suggests a massive drop off for him next season. There are various better options who'd cost half that, from better leagues with stats that suggest they'll repeat that. But keep focusing on small parts of my argument like pogba and ignore everything else I said👍
Just an FYI, the deal for Nunez is £64 million guaranteed. Then its £21 milliom in addons based on team success and individual performances.
Why do they think Liverpool need a midfield player other than that there was rumors of Bellingham? Liverpool signed Carvalho, they have, Thiago, Fabinho, Hendo, Harvey, Jones, Ox, Keita... and others??? Liv are losing three strikers this summer!
Please fix the audio Lads , I always have to max the speakers watching FD,
Except wntt cuz joes mike is good
I like darwin nunes a lot I see him play week in week out but for Liverpool I would rather have Nkunku for 65 70 mil. Cheers
Trust in klopp
nkunku was not avaliable i think leipzig refused to sell him
Nunez is going to cost £68 mil tho.
@@milannn6799 Still hating on Henderson 😂 😂
I need my Van Straten podcast back
did we now what we were gonna get when e got van dijk ? even then everyone was blaming liverpool for that transfer
Top Journos close to Spurs say that the majority of the 150mil is gonna be in addition to player sales and what was made last season by getting champs so wouldn't be surprised if spurs do make a couple 50mil+ signings
The disrespect towards Sangare is insane. Wonder what Tifo would say 😂😂😂😂.
Love the discussion on curry!!
