So just to clarify, Jesse was the original singer from 1999-2002. He left due to severe depression and I believe he had just started a family at the time and were missing them which only added to his depression. Howard joined the band shortly after and was with Killswitch Engage from 2002/2003 until 2011/2012. He left due to health issues (type 2 diabetes) and Jesse came back during an audition and rejoined his band. He's been back since 2012. I dont get the whole Howard vs Jesse debate. Some prefer Howard and say Jesse should leave and some prefer Jesse. Doesn't matter because they're both really good friends. You should check out some of their older songs from before Howard when they were really heavy
Didn't even know Jesse was the original! And indeed very clear that they're good friends. And they're both solid vocalists and in the same register so no shocking difference like RJD vs. Ozzy for instance.
I say keep both, if this is a taster of what could be.
@@ChrisPage68 howard has his own band, Light the Torch. Really good band, so I doubt they'll keep both. I can see another collaboration for a song in the future or maybe a tour together but I dont see Howard rejoining the band as a full time member.
Pretty sure on top of Jesse's Depression he had something wrong with his throat and couldn't sing to his full potential which made his depression worse I could be wrong if I am I'm sorry
I got into them before Howard. I love Jesse's voice, I just prefer the sound that Howard puts out. His singing voice is something else
I loved this songs since it came out , seeing both singers together is amazing ... and the instrumental is not letting nobody down !

Great song. Dynamic duo work. Definitely soundtrack material for a motion picture. I see the viking warriors returning home after battle with signal torches lit. 🧙♂️

They are just over all a great band even with the new lead singer. I do go twords the heavier stuff but even the softer clean vocals are just so good you can't help but to listen
Clearly you haven't heard Jesse at his prime with Alive or just breathing Album in 2002 definitely hard as nails. Howard Jones left due to medical condition. Howard Jones is in a New Band Called Light The Torch.
The first album was the heaviest. This song is their biggest fan pleaser. And As Daylight Dies was their most beautiful melodic album. This band can do no wrong.

It’s surprisingly common from reactors to this song being heavier than they think Killswitch normally is. Killswitch always been heavy like this.

Saw them live in 2003. Last Serenade is my favorite track by them. Haven't followed them closely though.

@@ChemicalReactions From 1993 to 2005, is when I saw most bands live. I first saw Metallica live, in the UK, as an 8 year old in 1993. That was my introduction to metal.
The last band I saw live was Slipknot in 2005. I've kept up with the music, just not the live events anymore.

Great reaction! Howard Jones hasn't been out of the game since he left KSE. He started a band called Devil You Know for a couple albums and then they changed their name to Light the Torch. You should check out some of their stuff.

ChemicalReactions! I was aware of Overkill as being a pioneer/ mainstay of Thrash Metal but I’m amazed at how good they are after listening to their last album.
Really good video, I enjoyed. I think that it's important that a band follow their line, you know, in this case Killswitch Engage put their sign in this song. Yeah \m/
I really think they should do more songs together. Howard has a band that I can't remember the name of. ... You should watch the video of the guitarist when he was a contestants on the Price is Right. Will not tell you the outcome in case you haven't seen it before

You should react to Fade in/Fade out by Nothing More it would be the perfect song to react as a father and son. They just released a music video for it, it's a very emotional song and the music video fits it perfectly. It's about Mark's Father and His son, fade in part is watching them grow up fade out part is watching them grow older passing away it is a very intense emotional song.
Great suggestion. Nothing more is an underrated band. As proof, I didn't know anything about them when they were opening for FFDP last year and as such didn't even bother to show up. I heard several of their songs afterwards and really enjoyed.
@@ChemicalReactions I don't blame you for not showing up to hear them, Most people won't listen to something different that they're not use to. they listen to the same things and don't expand their what they do listen to often enough.
I pretty sure most of the bands or songs I recommend to reactors are underrated to try expand their musical library and if I suggest a popular band I suggest their more underrated songs instead of their most popular and iconic songs because everyone reacts to the same songs and in my opinion a bands best song usually isn't their top hit songs that are the most catchy.
Killswitch has ups and downs, but overall a very solid band. This song.. I like a lot! 90% 🤘🍅

Jesse>Howard. They're a better band with Jesse but were more commercial with Howard. Jesse was the og frontman, left the band then came Howard and now we're back to Jesse
