Excellent video, Marius and Elena. Very good overview of the principles of sensual bachata. I found it very helpful to reinforce the principals I have learned little by little over the last seven years. This will help my dancing and also my teaching. Thank you also for adding a small comment about the Korke and Judith, and about Daniel and Desiree. I have had the privilege of meeting them and taking a few classes with them. They are wonderful people, and their teaching has helped the dance community a lot.. Also, thanks for clarifying a bit better for the guy how to be in sensual bachata position without invading the body of the lady in the wrong area. It's tricky, but it is an important thing to really try to master. Sensual bachata is one of the most beautiful dances that exists, in my opinion, but I know it can get instantly creepy if the guy doesn't learn how to lead it correctly. That's why I really appreciate all my instructors like both of you. Thanks for all you are doing.
Thank you. Korke&Judith, Daniel&Desiree are awesome and really humble. Had the pleasure to dance with Judith and Desiree, and they are awesome followers. They don't care about doing flashy stuff, they just enjoy the dance... And yes, Sensual Bachata can get really creepy, really fast if there is no respect between partners... especially from the guys :D
This is a really good detailed tutorial! It got me at "My leg is not in paradise" haha!!!!! I'm not sure if I missed it, but since this is fundamentals perhaps you could also add where the body weight is... many times on the dance floor I feel I'm on the wrong leg and the guy tries to move me and I feel like tripping :(
Good ideea about the weight but usually you go on the "basic" like weight on 1 on right as a girl. The best think would be to pay really close attention to the boy and try to see where he wants your weight (and if he doesn't lead very well... Try to guess :🤣)
Gracias por el tutorial esta noche la voy a poner en practica .la bachata sensual esta en auge ;) saludos .me gustaria verlos bailando en algunos clubs con buen ambiente .gracias Maestrosss.
Bachata sensual is Bachata by Korke. Korke has her own training system, where there are clear rules and certain basic movements with names and systematization. I believe that the training system should be unified and there is no need to "reinvent the wheel".A unified training system is a common language of communication between dancers of various dance schools and this is very important.
Wow I just discovered and immediately subscribed your channel. You are doing great job. I wish you could do a video about head-body rolls/dips - especially those you can destroy your back if done wrong haha Much love from Poland♥
Thank you. Check out our bachata body-movement and bachata partnerwork playlist (in our channel) we sure have some videos about that :D But will also do new ones, thank you for the idea. :D
Nowdays that is the general conception but what would you say if I told you "modern zouk" got it's move from hip-hop dance styles and belly-dance? 😁 Research the years when the styles emerged and you will be amazed by what influences what. But besides that... Yeah, it looks like that 😁
Definitely no! I don't do that even with my girlfriend. This makes the difference between a guy that the girls look for and that they evade. 99.9% of the girls dance because it feels good, not because they want something else...
@@humanyoda yeah but that is not a general rule. There might be a couple in a few hundreds. Anyways you do what is best for you, but I recommend being respectful and caring. I hate girls that start to grind on me... I go into combos and don't come close to them.
Don't stand like that, don't stand like that. If they are so worried about it, they should not do sensual bachata. Let them go make plates. This dance is a sex dance. 🤨
Well, it seems quite absurd to me to differentiate dance styles by how much you move your body and by what distance there is between the dancers. From what you say in this video it seems to me that "normal" Bachata would be the style for people who can't dance well (it would be a bad idea to get closer to each other then) and the "sensual" version is just the real thing, where you can move as much as you can and want to dance the music (in "normal" style this is "forbidden"??). Then you have to rethink a little your concept of what "partner dancing" is about, as it is not the guy who makes the dip, it is the lady who does it - and she of course does not do it, if she has pains or simply doesn't want to do it at any given moment - so you don't have to be afraid about anything here, actually. This is about fundamentels, so you really should check your understanding, as the dip example extends to many of the other things in this video (yes, saying that "the guy turns the girl" is equally wrong understanding of lead&follow obviously, check your wording please!). Nice studio, good luck on your way!
I understand your point of view, but I got to say that, from what you said, you got a lot of things wrong. 1. If you didn't caught from the way I was speaking... I will write it. All over the world, the "Sensual" style has a closer position than ... again... "normal" Bachata. And by normal... I mean what is thought in the first months (and first months for me are like 6 to 10 months of dancing... ). I don't think that a beginner goes to a dance school and starts learning waves, and head-rolls from the first day. Nowdays you see "3" main Bachata styles (and I say BACHATA "STYLES") : moves and combos, footwork, waves-isolations-headrolls-bodyrolls-etc.... name them however you want (normal, dominican, sensual, fusion, moderna, crunchata, or simply... bachata). 1.2. If you don't think that "how much you move your body" is not a criteria that makes a difference between styles (not by itself) that tell me why reggaeton has more body-movement than waltz? Or why Jive is different than Samba? (just by watching the dance and not hearing any music).... because you have different patterns of moving your body and how much you move it... Or bboy-ing vs popping. I could go on. But again, I wasn't talking about only "how much you move your body" . 2. "Normal" Bachata is for everyone... I don't know from where you got the idea this is only for those that can't dance. I dance "normal" Bachata, I dance "european"-dominican, I dance Sensual, I dance Fusion... I dance-whatever-name-there is ... because I don't limit myself to just 1 "style" . I repeat... you choose the info you want to get... 100 people can get the good info, and you can get the bad info... That's fine. Look for someone that suits what you need. Clearly we don't. 3. Partner-Dancing is dancing with a partner... I can do that from 2 metres away... or holding 1 hand, or into a freaking embrace. You dance with someone = partner dancing. 4. About the dips .... clearly you don't know the real dance scene around the world where girls are "destroyed" every night by MACHO WANNABEES that FORCE dips and acrobatics and unconfortable moves just because either they like it, or they think they look cool. Next time you go to a festival open your eyes and you will see that what I said in this video applies very well... You are talking about a utopian world where the "girl does the dips... if she doesn't want do, she won't do it.." . Get real. 5. The guy turns the girl... He gives the signal. It's not telepathy. P.S. Girls, let me know in a comment, to help others see the true face of social-dancing... That between awesome dances, you also go through bad ones where the guy doesn't care about you, and he physically hurts you... either being a dip, or a head-roll or a bad wave, or a bad move, or a combo etc...
@@MariusElenaBachata Thanks for the answer! 5. You can give signals as many as you want to, it's still the girl who decides that she will then turn and she is the one who does the turn. There is actually not much to discuss here, it's basic knowledge. 4. This "destroying" is just a result of wrong teaching/understanding, see 5. - and yes, I have seen many results of wrong teaching up today, this will change though as more and more teachers start to think about what they do. 3. yes, sure, so what? :-) 2. and 1. Well, don't be upset on this one too much, there is sometimes crap all over the world, so this is not completely your fault indeed, you are just one of those who don't resolve yet the confusion. For me, Bachata is the music and dance is what someone does with that music. As you say, we can have two or more meters distance or we can be totally close in any moment, to any kind of music. I can move my hips more or I can move them less just as I want - no sane mind would come up with the idea to tell me that I'm dancing this style now and the other style in the next moment because of distance or how much I move my ass ;-) or if I do a head roll (my own head of course) or not - "sensual" is not a dance style, it's a personal decision of the moment. So what you write doesn't change much from what you say. When you say "normal" Bachata is what they teach beginners then this is the same what I say - people who can't yet dance well. Sure, "normal" Bachata is for everyone. But not because "normal" Bachata is "normal", but because there is no such thing as "normal" Bachata. There is Bachata only - the dancing to songs of certain type. "Sensual" Bachata is surely not for everyone. 1. Because of position and 2. because of detailed body movement. But it's not a different dance style, it's again just advanced dancing abilities - you can have close position only if you are able to dance in close position and this requires greater body coordination. Waves, head rolls, extended hip movements, all advanced stuff. There is no "normal" and "sensual" Bachata dance style - there is a beginning dancer and and there is an advanced dancer.

@@MrMinime576 Well, for some reason, most people don't, because they can't. Who can, definitely does. You'll probably know that reggeaton or the other dance elements come from not out of thin air but from corresponding music, so it makes sense to relate your movement in one or other way when said musical elements come up in the given song. I personally don't care much if you do reggaeton moves at times when there is no obvious relation to the music (of course, stuff obvious to you doesn't need to be obvious to me), but I do for sure like it, when what I see relates to what I hear on a detailed level.
