I've struggled for years with basic chores like doing the dishes, and I was stuck in a place where I was feeling very negatively toward myself. But because of what I've learned from your channel, I'm finally figuring out strategies that work for me. Now I'm doing dishes every day, eating much healthier, working out, writing a book, etc. Thank you!! This next half year I would like to meditate, work on positive thinking, and work on improving communication in my relationship
I still think that when you put something to wash, when it's done it should go automatically to the dryer. But it's just me. I meditate using an app called Waking Up. I love it. You have a new one each day. I think that you have a trial available. I think that you should try. Look on Google Store. For me it was life changing. You need to figure out if you need to improve communication in your relationship or end the relationship to have someone better in your life. I am just thinking. You will need to figure it out. Success!
Is anyone else experiencing a mid-year crisis? I have been so stressed that it seems I'm not meeting my goals and resolutions. So thank you for this video, appreciate it, and you.
Same here. It's just one "hit" after the other. Starting in October / November last year, and I've just about had enough of it now. And yet I know that others were/are hit even worse...
Yep can definitely relate! Which is why I decided to take it a step further and have an actual tool to WRITE/MAP IT OUT so that I can have a clear path to where I want to go, bearing in mind that I may need to shift and re-prioritise a little but that I can still get there by being intentional and focused!
This pandemic is really something. It think it's the worst thing I did experience in my life. So it's not easy for anybody. The stress level rise. You do not enjoy life like before. You have to find another way to be happy. This channel help a lot. I feel better when I watch her videos. Maybe you should watch the others.
I've actually had a really productive 6 months - I graduated from university, moved in to my first apartment, got a full-time job and during lockdown I was able to work on creative things more than I ever had before (which, hopefully, I'll be able to keep up throughout the year). there are some things I still want to work on, e.g getting better at organising my finances, figuring out a healthier relationship with social media, maintaining a regular yoga/work-out routine, but generally my 2020 has been great already and I think I'm happy to have a more quiet second half of the year!
Wins: I set myself the goal of drawing every day and posting the drawing every day and I've been doing it! I've missed a few random days, but make it up the next day by doing another drawing. What I want to change is I have a lot of fitness goals I want to accomplish but haven't been putting the work into that, so going forward I want to push myself more there to make sure I reach those goals before the end of the year. Loved this video and just what I needed right now!
I think it's great that you don't only talk about prompts and templates, questions to think about, but that you actually share your own answers with us. 😊
Really inspirational! Personally, I have had a huge rethink of my life this year - self-development, experimenting, reading, and documenting all of it via videos. A good time to reflect so thank you x
1. Think about your wins (even the mini wins) 2. Reflect on start-of-the-year goals 3. What is not working? What should you change? remember self compassion❤
I find that I over do it with my goals....and find myself doing none of it because there's just too much to keep track of it....so I have it all written down on a poster. For me to read everyday or when I remember. When I want to make a big purchase... Lol. Just remind myself why I I'm saving, etc. I also like to write down my progress. What I accomplished and it gives me motivation to see that I'm finishing what I wanted to at the beginning of the year. Because of covid. I had relooked at my goals. And I am glad to see that I am still doing what I can and for those that I can't...I will keep in mind.
Thank you so much for the term "comfortable misery"! It describes soo good how I often feel and adapt in a good and bad and ugly way and manner. The impression was on my tongue for a long way but it never coaleced into concept.
Wins: Making more art Staying active Visiting family in the summer Developing more self love Goals: Having most of my loans paid off Interacting in groups outside of school Creating healthy boundaries with family What is not working: My schedule between work/sleep/personal time Communication with family
OMG... getting a cleaner was literally the best decision I ever made when my son was small. In normal times she and her daughter come twice a week for 45 mins. At the moment she is coming once a week due to COVID-19. It improves my mental health, reduces stress, reduces family arguements, and gives me back so much time!!! Up until 3 weeks ago I had achieved very little towards my goals due to COVID and my health. My health improved so I was able to review, make tweaks and I am already making significant progress which is the beat motivation for now.
If there’s anything the past 6 months has taught me, it’s that silver lining’s are EVERYTHING 😥🥺👍🏼 I may not be able to travel at all this year as planned, I accomplished much more than I thought in and because of quarantine. Let’s finish this year well, if anything 👍🏼
I’d like to take a minute and let you know that this is my favourite RUclips channel. I’m amazed by the fact that with every single video I watch I will actually learn something new and very relevant to me. I also feel very grateful for people like you who are not afraid to tell the world about their social anxiety. In addition the fact that you share amazing resources and tips on how to deal with it. I’m currently ready the book ‘how to be yourself’ that I found on your website. Would be absolutely happy to hear more about your social anxiety journey. In fact, after coming across your channel I started looking at it in a different, more accepting way. Thank you, you beautiful human! ❤️
Thank you for this gentle kick in the butt. And for the reminder to be kind to ourselves if the current situation has blocked some progress. Time to refocus and get back to it!
I’m making big plans for the rest of the year because I’ll be graduating in December and I’m not quite sure what to do next, thank you so much for your incredible videos!! 💜
1 accepting help 2. Stopped self harming 3 Being gentler with myself 4 reconnecting with friends It all seems small but are huge achievements to me. Looking forward to the rest of the year ❤️
It's so easy to fly past all your accomplishments and forget how far you've come. I like doing this every night and think about everything I got done. I tend to brush them under the rug and only look at what I haven't done
Despite the challenges this year, I’ve actually accomplished quite a lot. My wins are: - Getting prompted and increasing my income - Paying off my car and two student loans - Starting an emergency fund (should be fully funded in Sept) - Following a consistent budget - Taking my first solo trip - Posting my first RUclips video For the rest of the year, I really want to focus my energy into my RUclips channel, outperforming my job duties, increasing my confidence and finding my voice. I also plan to pay off one mor student loan.
I made a similar video that includes a tool for actually writing/mapping it out so that I could really force myself to assess things properly! I love that you actually shared yours and did the exercise out loud, mine was getting too long and I didnt want to bore people but it was so encouraging to hear yours. You are so sincere and honest, love that about watching your videos, thank you for the value you keep adding!! Xx
I needed this!! I set three main goals at the beginning of the year and have been fortunate to achieve two of them but have kind of been left with a “what now?” feeling. It’s time to refocus 💫
I realize that at least once a month I have a few days of existential crisis that I keep thinking about everything in my life and I end up changing my mind and even changing my general idea about many things, which in general is not too bad. Right now I have been trying to remember everything that motivates me to keep going.
Hi there, 1) I love your Channel. Don't overthink changing the style. 2) I'm a fellow Toastmaster So welcome! I just completed my 10th speech in the Competent Communicator. It's a awesome experience and a well run organization 😊
Grateful for all the small wins :) half way through the year. I love to journal I have filled a whole journal already in my second one now. Love to reflect back focus on the opportunity for growth. Thank you for this video :) made me reflect back on the importance of writing for my mental health.x
A big win for me this year has been figuring out what I want; nothing like a pandemic and slow work days and heated arguments with your partner to make you journal until you get to the bottom of what's bothering you. Now all I have to do is work out how to get what I want and what to let go of...
Muchelle has improved my life soo much, she should start a podcast!!! btw are you ever going to continue channel notes? it has helped me so much with my youtube channel and i have watched every. single. video.
Love the idea of doing a mid-year audit!! My birthday is next week and I’ve really been reflecting on what I want to accomplish and how far I’ve come since last year!
Thank you for this!! I'm in the final six months of my masters degree and I've been feeling sooo unmotivated. This helps so much and is a great reminder to celebrate how much I've already accomplished. ❤
I just signed myself up for a presentation in my old school where I tell the students more about being a police officer and training to get one. Presentations are something i really struggle with so that's one win for me. Talking in front of people for 90 minutes straight... I'm glad it's a topic I'm very passionate about :)
My theme for 2020 is healthy. It has been so hard to stay healthy during quarantine and it feels like I've failed. But seeing your video just now, and thinking about these past 6 months, I can see that I've made so much progress! I excersise regularly, I do plenty of self care, I've worked hard in therapy and I've even started working on my sleep! There's still a lot of goals I need to work on, but I have come so far already I can hardly believe it. You are one of my all time favourite youtubers and this video was amazing, just like you ❤
Wins: I wrote my thesis this year and it worked out really well in terms of time management - I wasn’t really stressed 🥰 I still don’t have a grade but I really hope it went well. I also managed to work out even when in quarantine and I’m proud of that! Goals: I didn’t /really/ set a lot of goals and some of them were set around travel 🙄 but one goal was to finish my thesis so ✅ I‘ve also wanted to eat healthy and I’m especially doing it this month so that’s good :) Also I’ve been reading even more books than I’ve set myself as a goal! Not working: I need to be on social media & my phone less!!!! I’m left with very much free time and feel like I’m not using it well at all. I also need to actually do some of the cleaning I’ve been meaning to do - like windows!
I loved this video! I think that this is exactly what I needed to realize that I have had some pretty cool wins and I also have actually been working toward some goals whether I realize it or not! Thank you for creating such amazing content.
An life without reflection is a life half lived- mid year review: mine is monthly!!! 🤣🤣🤣 my wins- started studying have been reorganising my home- removing toxic people placed and things from my life- purchasing new white goods & being alive & kicking got the lady 47 years!!!! Woohoo!!!!
Wins: applied for grad school, declutter my wardrobe, reading more books, seek therapy, becoming more active, have a better relationship with my in-laws , accepting myself, New goals: have more confidence, save money for a down payment for a house, appreciate my family and friends, eating healthier .
I am clinging to your content, at this point... You, deliver. The fact that you show up authentically, resonates, inspiringly. Deep gratitude for your decision to be vulnerable, especially as an introvert, myself. For myself, people-ing, drains me. Inevitably requiring, recovery time. If you have a similar experience, I am curious to know if filming, has a similar effect*, as to spending time in public. Thanks in advance, B
can't believe it's been 6 months already! with the pandemic I've had to pivot my whole business to full-time video editing (usually I'm doing full production/filming and photography) and it's been hard to re-establish myself but I'm hoping in the next 6 months I can bring on enough clients to stay afloat.
Best thing I did this year was sit down in Mid-march and totally re-write my goals list. I'm going to achieve things this year I wouldn't have expected to (bye bye car debt), and some things I wanted to achieve in January are on pause (career moves). Of the new list, three months in and I've already ticked off two goals and I'm comfortably on the way to the other four. There's nothing wrong with making adjustments when life throws you curveballs, being rigid with your goals in a year like 2020 is a sure fire way to stress. Adapt and thrive, and return to those paused goals when it's feasible to do so! 👍🏻
I'm watching this right after I trashed the 5 years plan I did this past January and spent the last 48h redoing it. The coronavirus switched so many priorities... where I want to be in July 2025 is now very different than where I had planned to be in January 2025.
My win is being consistent with saving money. I am so proud of consistently saving money over the last six months. Every year I set a goal to save money but this is the first year I've really done it.
I’d love a video on how to choose goals, the ones I always have are so far in the future they don’t necessarily fit in a mid-year review because they still need to be fulfilled.
Wins: got married! despite Covid cancelling our plans, made good progress on 3 of my novels, wrote 50 pages for future e-book, having a clear direction/aesthetic for my writing and fitness socials, recording RUclips videos far more regularly than previously, I have a plan to start working for myself, blogging more regularly. Goals: being more consistent with socials, got married, formed some writer to writer relationships, writing more consistently while working, started a fitness blog and intentional living blog. What isn't working: too much screen time/spending too much time browsing the internet.
Loved this Michelle! I was thinking to do a mid year audit myself and now you’ve inspired me to really sit down and think through the past 6 months, and plan ahead for the next 6!!
I knew you were going to a post a video like this and I've been waiting excitedly for the past few days!! Thank you! Going to try to sort out my life now lol
I love your videos! Thank you. I was actually waiting for this video lol i enjoyed the idea of a mid year life audit so much last year. I basically lost my list of goals for the year but i remember most of them. I haven't learned a new song on guitar every quarter so far, but I'll try again! I did do a lot of painting which was one of my goals. I've also attempted to switch up a lot of routine things with changing settings and all you suggested in your video at the beginning of the year. Such a good video! It has made my life richer and i have gone back and watched it several times lol
So my year of “me” got put on hold, but is starting up again this month with kids back at school (after school holidays), and my bachelor course @Uni Trimester 2 beginning soon. The first half of the year though, my studies being put on hold, kids at home - has allowed me to review what I’d planned in regards to course direction for my degree, and to plan out my home, start a fitness plan, and to actually start those hobby projects (sewing). And I feel so much more grounded for what is yet to come, so all good!
I have recently found and subscribed to your challenge. I absolutely love all the videos I've watched! They fill me with inspiration and motivate me to make positive changes in my life. Thank you so much for doing what you do!! Can't wait to watch more
Love this video. I do the same!! Maybe because my birthday is at the end of June which is perfect for a half of the year audit. I will check that “toastmaster” thing because I am not good at public speaking and don’t have opportunities at my workplace to present and practice so I have been looking to learn how to speak in public.
I have been building up to one of these! During lock down I didn't have a job and was waiting to move and finish this big training course I've been doing so I feel like I've been in stasis for 6 months. I'm excited to try and find some wins despite feeling like I've done nothing and to plan for the next few months :)
Covid is responsible for some new achievements. Its definitely changed my perspective on some things! Some covid created accomplishments are consciously making sure we are not so busy, so downtime is available. Quiting shopping as much as possible! It's amazing how you can improvise! Also, learning to wash hair much less often ( weird one, I know but better for my scalp)
OMG Muchelle, I did a mid-year audit yesterday and I am so delighted to find out you made a video about it! I am excited to see what your take on it is.
Hey! I legit just started watching your videos and I'm hooked. I've been struggling with alot of procrastination lately, and as much as I want to do things, I blame it on the pandemic and feel like we should push everything to next year!😂 but now im really hopeful that the rest of the year will go well, as I've started really narrowing down my goals and seeing what works for me, I loved your previous video about discipline not working, but rather to kind of play with your mind a bit, with small habits. I will be doing a personal audit now and hopefully things will work out just fine:)great work! love from South Africa 🇿🇦
I can't watch this video yet because I'm putting my little one to bed and there are no subtitles. Can you turn them on for future videos? I'll still watch it, i just can't right now when i want to.
Drafted a Life map (idea of what I will do in life) I'm studying in college Recently I decided my carrier I was confused about choosing what to study (Msc ,PhD Biotechnology finally decided ) And Im planning&wishing to convert my other interests (some law, stat, data science, techincal writing, futurology) into side hobbies esp learn them when I'm free I used ikigai, common knowledge which I know through RUclips & browsing I made a distraction free study space for me (Now I can study what ever I want without losing focus, before that I used to sit in my hall get distracted by whatever happens in my home all day)
OK literally going to put mine in the comments like you said to bc I know I won't remember to re-watch and write this down like I want to hahaha. Wins: I started consistently studying Japanese for six months now and completed a book I've wanted to complete for ten years. I learned how to do my taxes! I got myself to go to the dentist and get cavities filled, as well as getting my cat to the vet. I got employee of the month at work. I started doing online one on one Japanese lessons even tho it scared me so much I was crying for like an hour after the first lesson lol. A student I had years ago emailed me and told me I was her best teacher ever 😭. I painted something I'm really proud of. Made it through the hardest three month period of my adult life. Goals: met my goals of improving my Japanese for my trip (which had to be canceled due to covid, bummer), learning how and doing my taxes, setting up and going to my appointments, completing that Japanese book I mentioned, and kind of starting a creative exploration habit (calling it a habit is probably a bit much but I think getting over the discomfort hump took a while and was important). What's not working: waiting until 10 pm to work on my goals lol. Feeling stuck at work - time to learn some new things to reinvigorate the designs I create. I've been having trouble getting myself to exercise and I really need to for my mental health. Have to continue focusing on being really present and self-compassionate.
Even if these 6 months have been full of anxiety and mental health struggles, remember that we are here today and we have overcome that state ! This is a tough year but everything will be ok :)
Hi! This video was extremely motivational and makes me want to take a look at my goals for the rest of the year. Also, question, where did you get your lapdesk from @ the 8:20 mark?
We've got half a year to go. Don't let the past define your future. Make the most out of these next 6 months!!! ❤
Thank you for the pin! You're a big inspiration Muchelle!
love this! you don't need a full "perfect" year to grow and change your life, six months is enough :)
I like your glass half full attitude about life 👍
Yes!!! Love these words! Completely true 💪🏼
😍🥰🥰🥰
I've struggled for years with basic chores like doing the dishes, and I was stuck in a place where I was feeling very negatively toward myself. But because of what I've learned from your channel, I'm finally figuring out strategies that work for me. Now I'm doing dishes every day, eating much healthier, working out, writing a book, etc. Thank you!! “A comfortable misery” - I’ve never related more!

Awesome... I've had personal development on my mind for a bit

2. Reflect on start-of-the-year goals

Wins:
Making more art
Staying active
Visiting family in the summer
Developing more self love
Goals:
Having most of my loans paid off
Interacting in groups outside of school
Creating healthy boundaries with family
What is not working:
My schedule between work/sleep/personal time
Communication with family
Journaling was so important aspect of my journey this year. Highly recommend it to improve yourself!
This is fantastic! I have been doing a lot of adjustments around finances. Being "trapped" at home has really got me focused.

Yes the past NEVER dictates your future. Make the best of the next 6 months Elisha 💪🏼🌟
My university had a rock wall. I LOVED climbing in the past. Such a great, fun full-body strength & cardio workout!!

Not working: I need to be on social media & my phone less!!!! I’m left with very much free time and feel like I’m not using it well at all. I also need to actually do some of the cleaning I’ve been meaning to do - like windows!
Congratulations on completing your thesis!
I had just sat down to do a mid-year reflection when this video was uploaded and I didn't know where to start. Thank you.
Woohoo!!!!
Wins: applied for grad school, declutter my wardrobe, reading more books, seek therapy, becoming more active, have a better relationship with my in-laws , accepting myself,
New goals: have more confidence, save money for a down payment for a house, appreciate my family and friends, eating healthier .
I am clinging to your content, at this point...
You, deliver.
The fact that you show up authentically,
resonates, inspiringly.
Deep gratitude for your decision to be vulnerable, especially as an introvert, myself.
For myself, people-ing, drains me. Inevitably requiring, recovery time.
If you have a similar experience, I am curious to know if filming, has a similar effect*, as to spending time in public.
Thanks in advance,
B
can't believe it's been 6 months already! with the pandemic I've had to pivot my whole business to full-time video editing (usually I'm doing full production/filming and photography) and it's been hard to re-establish myself but I'm hoping in the next 6 months I can bring on enough clients to stay afloat.
TheEmzies brilliant, it does feel great to be in control of your finances.💰
Thanks a lot for this great, practical/actionable and motivating video! Watched it again w pen and paper and doing my first life audit thanks to you !
Working out at home has really been helping me, but I won't go to the gyms yet as it's not safe there rn.💗
I knew you were going to a post a video like this and I've been waiting excitedly for the past few days!! Thank you! Going to try to sort out my life now lol
I absolutely love this! Making sure we are on the road we want to be on! Thank you!!!
I absolutely love your videos! You’re so compassionate!
you are so inspiring!!! I'm 24 and so glad I found your channel this year! it really helps me a lot! xx from Brazil :)
Your videos have helped me become a more productive person, thank you for helping me find the motivation to focus on my goals.
1. I'm almost ready to graduate from uni! I feel more confident, which I could not imagine 3 years ago
I have recently found and subscribed to your challenge. I absolutely love all the videos I've watched! They fill me with inspiration and motivate me to make positive changes in my life. Thank you so much for doing what you do!! Can't wait to watch more
My life sucked till now but now its time to change my habits and life❣
Love this video. I do the same!! Maybe because my birthday is at the end of June which is perfect for a half of the year audit. I will check that “toastmaster” thing because I am not good at public speaking and don’t have opportunities at my workplace to present and practice so I have been looking to learn how to speak in public.
This is exactly the video I need right now!! It’s my birthday next Saturday and I’m treating it like a new age new me. Love all your videos 🥰
I have been building up to one of these! During lock down I didn't have a job and was waiting to move and finish this big training course I've been doing so I feel like I've been in stasis for 6 months. I'm excited to try and find some wins despite feeling like I've done nothing and to plan for the next few months :)
It's so fun to see what's different and what's similar in the mid-year reflections that are popping up today :)
you are so creative and productive i love your content
I also don't love cleaning lol I have to motivate myself to clean. Yeah Hiring Help is best 👏 💯
Your videos really help me in my life feeling much better and we all hope that u are fine.
OMG Muchelle, I did a mid-year audit yesterday and I am so delighted to find out you made a video about it! I am excited to see what your take on it is.
Have so much fun to boulder. I love the sport and go twice a week.
I just found your channel and social media and I love your content and concept!! You must be a Virgo ✨💖
I'm glad you posted it, we all need to revise January goals...
Just the title, grabbed my attention! Thank you!!!!
I can't watch this video yet because I'm putting my little one to bed and there are no subtitles. Can you turn them on for future videos? I'll still watch it, i just can't right now when i want to.
as a virgo I definitely look up to you. ❤️
Drafted a Life map (idea of what I will do in life)
I'm studying in college
Recently
I decided my carrier
I was confused about choosing what to study
(Msc ,PhD Biotechnology finally decided )
And Im planning&wishing to convert my other interests (some law, stat, data science, techincal writing, futurology) into side hobbies esp learn them when I'm free
I used ikigai, common knowledge which I know through RUclips & browsing
I made a distraction free study space for me
(Now I can study what ever I want without losing focus, before that I used to sit in my hall get distracted by whatever happens in my home all day)
I look forward to your videos all the time! 💛
Loved seeing you on Notions 'Office Hours'! You and Marie Poulin are both so lovely :*
i found the worksheet from last year's myla video really helpful!!
I needed to hear this today! Thank you Muchelle
Starting my RUclips channel was my biggest win, I planned to post 6 YT videos by the end of June. I've posted 16!
never give up! it will take time but it will be worth it
found your content super useful recently, especially your other channel about youtube. when i get time ill watch lots of your videos :)
omg this couldn’t have come at a better time, thank you !! xxx
Even if these 6 months have been full of anxiety and mental health struggles, remember that we are here today and we have overcome that state ! This is a tough year but everything will be ok :)
This is timeless and very helpful❤️
I've also tried to get away from weekend work. It's been hard to not just think "I can just do that on a saturday" type thing.
I love your videos! Keep up the good work!
Hi! This video was extremely motivational and makes me want to take a look at my goals for the rest of the year. Also, question, where did you get your lapdesk from @ the 8:20 mark?
So proud of you.
Yass 🙌 I was just about to watch an old one to see this upload ❤ Thank you
I know this is the third comment, but I like your videos. They do help, even though I feel like I fail a lot with my goals and what I want to achieve.
great idea i really need to do this
Haven’t watched yet but love already! 🥰
I just love your channel
Mid-year wins are finishing my Masters degree and staying alive, getting by amid the virus. That's enough for me. :)
Thank you, I really needed this! For real
