That is the one benefit of living in a house that is truly mobile. If the weather sucks, you can leave. I am sorry to hear you're both sick, but you can drive down again once the storm passes. I would have hightailed it out of there too.
@@staceycarroll7973 Stacey, yes. Major benefit. Though I do miss the safety of our brick house that made it through 23 years of hurricane season 😁
Being sick made it tougher but we are glad we left
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents You had one heck of a house! I debate on whether I want an RV, a real house or both regularly. I currently live in a double-wide, which is neither a house nor mobile. So, it's the worst of all worlds. My biggest complaint on my house is that it can't be moved without great effort. so, if any severe weather were to hit me, I can't move, and nowhere is safe. I did just see that the storm moved more east than north. Looks like you guys missed it! Feel better. Things will look up soon!
Safe travels and healing prayers 🙏
@@traceyhellsten649 🤗
Yes you all did exactly what we’d do. Praying for safety for you both and also that you both get over the flu like sickness you have. Hoping your in a place where you both can rest for a few days🙏🏻❤️
Lisa, we were in a safe spot. But back now safe
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents Great, so glad you made it back safe!!
Great choice to leave! Don’t try to be a hero. That is just plain dumb. Run from a fight to live to fight another day. Be safe, never give up, and trust your gut.
@@Graybeard1405 well put - we have enough fights ahead of us 🤗

You did the right thing. Praying for your good health.
@@DanielDavis-ew1pl Daniel, thanks. Larry has a long way to go before surgery 😞

Hi Larry and Alice, you definitely made the right choice to stay safe as those trees looked like they could do some damage. Wishing you guys all the best from Ontario Canada and fellow Reflection owner.
@@ben8burns Rob, we wish we were in Ontario. But with Larry’s health issues, it was best to stay in US. Enjoy beautiful provincial parks 🤗
Alice
Thinking of the two of you.

We made it back safely
🙏's for better health for the both of you! Not a hard decision to be made about moving away from the woodsy area when a hurricane is in the forecast!
Dan, exactly. Old Oaks, rain and wind are a bad combo
Alice
Considering the trees and low area, you absolutely made the correct choice to evacuate. Safe travels!!
Thanks, John. We did have issues getting back into the site
Alice
Hi Larry and Alice! Of course I would leave with an in coming hurricane coming. I’d pack up my home like fast and leave for higher ground. So glad you packed up and left. Hope you are safe right now! We had a storm come here too Saturday for 10 min. Then cleared up. Now it’s clouding up again. But stay safe. Hopefully you both will feel better soon and Larry will get his operation. Get well soon! Stay safe. Love you both! 🤗😘❤💙💜Seen you soon! Keep me posted!
Sherri, when we had a brick house with boards to put on our windows, we stayed.
But not in an rv. Glad we left.
Back in Florida. Now waiting for dr appointments.
Thanks for being there for us 🤗

No problem! Glad you were ok and glad you got back to Florida for appointments. I will pray for Larry!
Good luck! 🙏
Yep my grandson is on one truck. He's lineman from North Carolina
@@susantaylor8554 Susan, wow. Hope he stays safe. 🤗

I used to live in Jacksonville, Orlando, Boca Raton. Going through even a near hurricane in a sticks and bricks is scary enough. I would definitely have evacuated. I'm very happy RVing in the southwest with no plans of going back east, ever again.
I understand- we are only in Florida during hurricane season due to medical emergency
@@DownsizingMakesCents Yes I've been watching your channel for a while. Hoping you get a break so you can get that taken care of. Sending lots of good vibes.
Wise choice! Keeping you guys and your health in our prayers.

I would have left as well. You folks are making good decisions. I pray that you both feel better soon and that Larry will have a truly successful surgery whenever it finally takes place. 🙏
David, appreciate the encouragement 🤗

I’m glad you guys are doing OK. I hope Larry gets better quickly and you both recover from your calls. I would’ve bugged out and rolls even further north. Stay safe have fun.
Johan, we were ready to head more north if we needed to.
But as sick as we were, we were glad we had a short easy trek there

Love watching you two. I was wondering if you’d do a video talking about how the two of you met. I’m Canadian and know that Larry is Canadian as well, lived not far from where I am now. Tell us the story. I’m sure others would love to hear, or… if you’ve already done that direct me to the video so I can watch… Cheers… Trusting for the best for you both as you outwit, outrun the hurricane. The responsible thing to do is to be safe. Head to a safe place.
@@chrislewis2653 Chris, yes. We knew it would be hard to move, but glad we did
Alice
We full time in Alachua during the winter because my parents live in Alachua. I worry about those trees as well. Last year we stayed during a tropical storm and I had a ton of vegetation on top of my 5th wheel. Nothing damaging though. Might have stayed in the area, but not under trees. Then again, you are already hooked up and can be out of Florida in a couple of hours.
Mark, Alachua actually notified us as RVers to move - we were already on the road though.
Decades of experience with Florida hurricanes - would not stay near trees in an RV
We weren’t hooked up when we decided to move and being sick pulling out of a difficult site was tiring.
But glad we left
Alice
Good move, We are in Orlando so it’s passing us bye, The rain and wind is tolerable so far in our motorhome
Hope you made it through safely
Alice
We were faced with the same decision in 2022 while in Florida. We moved north for a couple of days! If your RV is hit by a hurricane, most insurance won’t cover you because you can get out of the way!
Melodee, luckily we were able to move. Some people couldn’t
And we have excellent insurance for full time RVers
Alice
Better to be safe when it comes to hurricanes.
@@karinhart489 Karin, you are so right. It was tiring to move, but we are in a safer spot

I hope you two get feeling better soon..... Good Video ! Better Safe than sorry !
Larry feels and looks like when I had Lyme & Co-infections..... they said Rheumatoid arthritis, ALS, them MS ended up being the lyme stuff.... turns out not just tics, but one out of every 3 mosquitos has it as well as fleas, biting flies, gnats anything with a gut that feeds on Blood..... get this test. Igenex look it up youtube will NOT allow me to post the Link !
Thanks. Once our cold is over, then concentrate on getting Larry’s surgery.
Thanks. We are safe

You two cannot get a break. So true.
We need some serious good luck charms 😁

I'm kind of surprised you picked GA. Looking at maps, NW FL looks like nothing is hitting over there. But I'm sure you checked it all out and made the best decision for you.

If you are afraid about trees coming down, why not move your RV to a nearby Walmart parking lot for a couple of days?
Decades of experience says not to chance it.

Yes, Marion. It makes sense

Our prayers are with both of you. I agree with you 'bugging out', that was the right move. I wish I could help by driving your 5th wheel where you feel safe. The stress that both of you are under is not healthy. Just in case...our daughter lives on 9 acres about an hour west of Nashville, she has a spot with full hookups and you could stay for free for as long as need be....just a thought. Stay safe!
That’s so sweet. Luckily, we only had to drive a few hours.
You are right. Stress is not helping.
But we are back safe
All the offers from great people like you help more than you may realize
May want that spot next time we visit Nashville 😉
