I grew up on PSU but unfortunately was never able to play it online...moved on for a while until PSO2 was announced at E3 (I flipped out) - let me tell you, even though it's been ages since I picked up that game, I can DEFINITELY recognize a Phantasy Star song when I hear it! The only thing I wish is that the older tracks would be polished up with better samples. Even if just the boss battles were remixed with more updated sound samples, that would be awesome. (and make them even more stellar than they already are) It's sad because although the compositions are legendary, the synthetic instrumentals they used for the base soundtrack were/are fiercely outdated, even by 2012 standards.
So awesome! Rushing towards lasers, fighters, cannons - to forget to use A.I.S. laser. But using all other stuff. There's just NO TIME FOR THIS!... I'd love to also hear operator's speech like "ALL ARKS! TARGET IS IN RANGE! FIRE AT WILL!!!" I love this trigger quest. I'm regretting to miss it when it was actual, I'd love to see 40 AIS storming this Battleship. Just like in trailer.
Gonna be honest didn't expect to end up fighting the FUCKING BATTLESHIP YAMATO... Y'know.... only the LARGEST AND ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL BATTLESHIPS EVER BUILT. this game always goes off the rails and i love it.

Two years later, coming back realizing that I only played PSO2 for the AISes. If PSO2 was just AIS giant robot combat, I'd probably still be playing...honestly, I stopped playing because of the limited storage and having to manage inventories and a shop....I game to shoot and slice things, not do civilian BS. Regardless, the AIS missions, and this one in particular, still stand as some of the best boss battles in gaming....like, #8 or #9, with The Boss of MGS3 at #1, Bowser in Super Mario 3 at #4, Megalith of Ace Combat 04 at #6....I should actually make this list at some point....but the Yamato will definitely be in my top 10.
Final fantasy xiv had some epic battles, but i admit pso2 blow my mind every boss i faced on NA IS EPIC but this look foward to pilot my on gundam barbatos

Though Space Battleship Yamato plays up the perceived heroism and legend of the Yamato by rebuilding it as a hero spaceship that saves the Earth. In PSO2 it's more like a representation of the hubris and inability to accept defeat that plagued Imperial Japan, where a phantom Yamato is conjured by the Japanese equivalent of Elon Musk to terrorise coastal cities solely because he's an arrogant, overbearing prick.
@@UraBless Not really. You can solo it quite easily. It'll just take around 20-30 mins. The only issue is you'll never bring down the nukes in time, but all that gives you is a single death with a 5 second respawn.
@Channel07 The thing is that I played the jpn verzion with the tweaker and while I did have game crashes due to the anti cheat, it never messed up my computer. This does every single time. And all I had running was all that plus steam, anti virus and discord.

Yes, there is. You can do Yamato as a trigger quest. Make sure to gather a party. You gonna *need* one.
