The scene in MSCL where he's dancing with Delia is so perfect,first time I ever heard Haddaway-What is Love? as well. Ricky unashamedly proclaiming himself,dancing his heart out,Delia surprised,then joins him in dancing the same moves. The show was so ahead of its time. btw I can't hear that song without remembering that scene. Best scene of the whole series...imo

I feel bad Ricky and Wilson had to grow up in the mid 90s as a gay teen/young adult. I loved the 90s, but I didn’t have to deal with the homophobia. 2021 would’ve been a whole different mood.

They didn't read the room very well when they cancelled such a great show, there were 6 seasons of Dawsons Creek, there was so much more potential for MSCL, all the teens watched it religiously including me at the time, it was huge in Ireland. Every teen had Jared Letto and Claire Danes posters in their room, they were so beautiful together.

I'd read how that episode was based on his real-life experience. Horrible to watch, not only proof of the violent treatment he endured from his father, but how little support he got as every adult in his life seemed puzzled over how or even whether to help him.
