The whole “the Warriors have missed the playoffs three times in the last five years” thing is very misleading. They literally won the championship two years ago in 2022. They were in the playoffs last year. Klay is rapidly declining and Draymond’s idiocy cost them the playoffs this year but the framing of this is a little hyperbolic.
They have had the most expensive payroll in the league that whole time. Missing the playoffs is unacceptable for a franchise trying to become a marquee.
Stephen A. tries to say "They missed the playoffs 3/5 years" and "they would be a playoff team top 5 record if draymond didn't get suspended" at the same time... two completely contradictory takes in the same breath. Does he not realize he's contradicting his own point?

Besides Klay’s injury, he let everyone’s criticism of him not dribbling get to him. Now he forces the dribble then tries to shoot, versus catch and shoot (his bread and butter). I’m not saying he’d be back to old Klay… I’m saying get back to what you’re good at.

Steve Kerr, Steph, Draymond and Klay I feel all know it’s over despite their public protestations. The owners need to be careful of them to some extent. What may be going on is that they know the team is past it but they still prefer to wind down their career with each other BECAUSE ITS COMFORTABLE FOR THEM!!!! They are self actualized - if they don’t do a damn thing again they’ll be alright. The owners and management however cannot allow their preference to keep this boys club together. I mean all of this respectfully. They cannot keep this team as is constituted. Put the sentimentality and the friendships and all those things aside. Particularly when hundreds of millions of dollars are being paid. I love those guys. I really do. But this group is over with that big 3. Steph at age 36 needs to play with another marquee player. It makes more sense to blow it up and start a rebuild now with all the picks we have, before roll it back with this core that is no longer good enough to win championships. Throwing the future away by trading for a star when in 2-3 year Steph won't be there anyway and we have nothing to build upon is what a desperate team would do. Better preparing now for the future making painful but necessary decisions and start to build for the next run

I don't know what Kerr is seeing, but he needs to realize Klay is not worth the asking dollars anymore. He has good years left, but they're not GREAT which is what the Warriors need. His defense has fallen off and he's become very inconsistent on offense. You cannot drop a goose egg in a playoff deciding game. That's unacceptable.
