You are correct. She is not JUST a singer. Her voice penetrates your soul. Her soul to yours. Listening to her, whatever song she does, is a deeply profound, unexplainable experience that leaves you somehow changed inside.
The original artist is Baby Fuzz. He wrote this song and shopped it around. From what I read Angelina did a demo recording (when she was only 10) but it was never released. The reason is the suicide content. Somehow the audio was leaked. Because of the content controversy she said she would never sing this song again and I totally respected her and her family's decision. A few years later Baby Fuzz recorded his own version. I see it as a cover to his own song, since Angelina sang it first and I don't think there will ever be anyone who could do better than Angelina. Her version is hauntingly mesmerizing. Angelina recorded this demo at the age of 10 (only!), But she and her mother don't like words that refer to suicide. Some fans captured the video in the short time of publication and republished it on his channel, but it is not recognized by Angelina and her family. Angelina said that with these lyrics she will never sing the song again. However, it is a wonderful interpretation. It's funny but I've never once related the lyrics of any song Angelina sings to her herself. From the very beginning she has been singing songs about love, kissing, pain, heartbreak etc and she couldn't possibly have understood the meaning of most of it, but somehow it never mattered. Many child performances can feel uncomfortable and children can be sexualised, or manipulated, or come across as twee or gimmicky, but she is different, she doesn't really even seem to be present when she sings imo, it feels like she disappears and then becomes like a conduit for something beyond herself and we the audience are transported. I'm not a religious person but hearing her sing feels like a glimpse of divinity. She's a miracle for all of us.
This song was the second (I think) Angelina pefrormance that actually made me cry. And it wasn't the first time I heard it - and it wasn't the song _per se_ that did it: it was the seond time I listened to it, after I had learned that it "shouldn't exist", and that Angelina would never release it officially and will never sing it again. That's what made me cry: the thought that this little demo, which could be released as-is as a single, and could be played on mainstream pop radio, and sell a million copies, and break Angelina's career wide open the way that (say) "Don't Know Why" did for Norah Jones (nevermind the problem with that happening while she's still in school)… The fact that this song might just "go away" and none of that would happen. No… not "might", "could", or "would". That none of that *will* ever happen… that's why I cried. As you continue your journey with Angelina you will find that fathoming the depth of her ability to move you is beyond incredible. As stated she is an artist not a singer. There is a vast difference. I have ask myself if she is aware of her ability to move people from despair to a feeling of hope. When we begin to see new songs coming from her we will find the answers. I am 78 and have listened to thousands of songs and with exceptions I can count on one hand I never truly heard the words nor contemplated the meaning. Angelina takes you to a different place and creates feelings within. I have never felt this before. I will not live to see the results but I have seen the beginning.

The bulk of “I’m Still Holding Out For You” was done at a songwriting camp in Oslo, Norway. I wrote the song with some super talented cowriters Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen. I was there for the world class by:Larm music festival in 2016.So yeah, this song had been completed in 2016 and the idea was to try to give it to a big artist. I had sent it to a myriad of people over the last few years, with no luck. I think it was the music industry’s way of telling me I need to start putting out my own songs. Finally, early in 2018, I kind of came to the realization that the demo was pretty strong with my vocal. At the point, I went back in on the production and kind of took it over the finish line. Now I’m super happy nobody else took it, because it feels 100% honest to what I was feeling at that time.- Brandon Lowry ( Baby FuzZ) -- Angelina was 12 years old when she recorded this song!

She knows how to creat drama by holding back on cert4frases, called negative space and then slide into the punchline. I know this going to sound stupid, it won't be the first time for me, but I feel like the scene in the Star Trek movie when Kirk runs into the old Spock in the cave and Spock does the mind-meld, when he stops that abruptly and Kirk staggers off with tears running down his face and he is totally unhinged for a period of time, that is how I feel when I hear Angelina sing. She knocks you off your foundation and you know if you survive everything is going to be different somehow. It's like being filet' wide open and then having your insides stirred around then put back together. Then you ask yourself how can a 7,8,9,10,..year old do this to an adult with some history, 68 years worth, how can this be? I LOVE Angelina Jordan. Thanks for continuing to react to her. It makes me happy that she is getting more exposure recently and more people get to discover her. It would be a travesty if the world didn't get to hear this voice.
This is easily among my top five Angelina songs that I've heard so far. Her voice has so much soul that you can't help but feel the emotion when she sings. Everyone's heard the tired cliche, "I could listen to you sing the phone book", but with Angelina it just might be true.

Aurora - She's from Norway just like Angelina. They have very different sounds, but are similar in the way that the music seems to be a part of them...as if it flows through their veins. As you continue your journey with Angelina you will find that fathoming the depth of her ability to move you is beyond incredible. As stated she is an artist not a singer. There is a vast difference. I have ask myself if she is aware of her ability to move people from despair to a feeling of hope. When we begin to see new songs coming from her we will find the answers. I am 78 and have listened to thousands of songs and with exceptions I can count on one hand I never truly heard the words nor contemplated the meaning. Angelina takes you to a different place and creates feelings within. I have never felt this before. I will not live to see the results but I have seen the beginning.

There is a lot of opinions and speculation about this video, but here are some cold hard facts about it : It was a demo of a song written by artist Baby Fuzz. The demo recording was stolen from Angelina and "leaked" in this video. Angelina has said that she will never sing this song again due to the lyrics, and does not support the existence of this video

The bulk of “I’m Still Holding Out For You” was done at a songwriting camp in Oslo, Norway. I wrote the song with some super talented cowriters Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen, and Frida Amundsen. I was there for the world class by:Larm music festival in 2016.So yeah, this song had been completed in 2016 and the idea was to try to give it to a big artist. I had sent it to a myriad of people over the last few years, with no luck. I think it was the music industry’s way of telling me I need to start putting out my own songs. Finally, early in 2018, I kind of came to the realization that the demo was pretty strong with my vocal. At the point, I went back in on the production and kind of took it over the finish line. Now I’m super happy nobody else took it, because it feels 100% honest to what I was feeling at that time.- Brandon Lowry ( Baby FuzZ) -- Angelina was 12 years old when she recorded this song!

What Kham Vo said is the truth about this song. I wan't to add that a fan "took" the demo and put the video together with some real photoshoots she's done all along her life. Some awesome photoshoots BTW. One of her best songs. It is a shame that she "apparently" decided she wouldn't sing it again because of the content. One thing that I'm kind of doubtful about because she has sung other very strong songs. Anyway, this is a masterpiece by Angelina.

Hey guys, yeah! Your right, not a singer, not an artist weve just been given a master class. This girl is a storyteller & she uses song to deliver. She knows how to creat drama by holding back on cert4frases, called negative space and then slide into the punchline. I think if you settle in on each song as a story you'll find a few more adjectives to allow you to react, it's a whole new segment of art. But, sometimes you feel your watching a painter produce a Rembrant. Yeah!, go figure. Ciao!

I know this going to sound stupid, it won't be the first time for me, but I feel like the scene in the Star Trek movie when Kirk runs into the old Spock in the cave and Spock does the mind-meld, when he stops that abruptly and Kirk staggers off with tears running down his face and he is totally unhinged for a period of time, that is how I feel when I hear Angelina sing. She knocks you off your foundation and you know if you survive everything is going to be different somehow. It's like being filet' wide open and then having your insides stirred around then put back together. Then you ask yourself how can a 7,8,9,10,..year old do this to an adult with some history, 68 years worth, how can this be? And whoever comes up with the answer, I'm not sure I'll be around long enough for that. Angelina does this to me, and yet I can't wait for the next song she puts up. Sometimes, I think I'm nuts, then I realize I always have been. She is magic, it's the best explanation I have. Thanks both of you for your reactions.

To bring a grown-ass man to tears is not a common ability among any singer, much less a 10 year old girl. And I've read dozens of comments from grown-ass men saying they were brought to tears listening to her songs.
She sings with the soul and passion of a person who has been broken a thousand times. Somehow, we can't help but believe her. I don't believe in reincarnation, but damn if all them old gospel and soul singers of days and decades long gone, have found a home inside this girl.
Angelina has this ability to draw us in. To cause us to trust her. And we can't help but become vulnerable and allow her voice to move us. That, is special.
She is a once in a lifetime artist and I am glad I'm here to appreciate her.
