    VA is best among all..
I got interviewed today for sales...
    The conversation:
    1) He explained all about company and wanted me to ask questions....
    2) I took control and asked following questions in order.
    - Whom do you think your competitors are... (but it wasn;t first questions)
    - I talk about profits unlike others are costs. So I sell value instead of price.
    - By when do you want to hire sales people. He answered in January...May I ask you a quesiton, I might b wrong but are you the decision maker? Yes but I will find if I am 80% convinced, I will make my decision if the case is 65-60% convincing, I will get my team onboard to judge the candidate.
    - by when do you personally think you are going to take the decision? In December.
    My pitch:
    - As you see that I am more concern about your profits instead of costing and I have set a figure of incentives in my mind with $$XXX/day. I will close X amount which is more to what you are closing currently. I guarantee the X amount. With the long hiring cycle, you are losing x- current amount every month which will be 3 times till january. Mr Customer. Do you have leverage to lose that big amount?
NO but as per our schedule WE will hire by january.
    - I agree with you mr customer but as I am being interviewed by you. I am also being interviewed by your competitor ........ and they are pretty agressive on hiring. By that time I will be in your competition but I want to eat their lunch and bring to you.
His Response. Excellent communication but we will close in january ...
    Damn.....

Again, nice material Victor. In Germany, it could be considered somehow odd if you ask that question directly. Now, there are people who do it anyway and it sure works for America. I myself developed a sales style where I create a natural atmosphere by avoiding to sound like a salesman. I just wrap my qualifying questions in a natural conversation, like that: Ok Mrs. X, so I'll send you our material via mail today. Should I send it to someone else as well, like the person who eventually makes the desicion? Or do you decide yourself?
Of course, you can use a lot of variations of that specific example.
That's a beautiful example of the different business cultures in Germany and the US. Lot's of sales reps fail because they take US strategies and don't adapt them. They get hung up and start hating cold calls. Which is awesome, because businesses come running to my sales agency. It keeps bringing my bread on the table :)

This has worked well for me: "Besides you who else will be involved in the decision making process? "

@Thirty3rty ... Hi Albert, what's the name of your agency and are you hiring right now?

    • @TrentonErker
      @TrentonErker 6 лет назад

There's really not much of a difference, people in America are not accustomed to direct questions either.
Victor frequently goes over how to sound less pushy by doing what you say you do - throw in questions during the presentation.
However, waiting until the presentation to know if the prospect is a decision maker is a great way to waste your time. If you are too scared to be direct then phrase it like this, "Who else will help make the decision?"

Victor you are awesome I couldn’t stop listening your podcasts
I think u are totally different from grant cardone simply because he never digs deep into daily salespeople problems, he is only talking about himself and his “great achievements “

This is interesting. I wonder how it could relate to your podcast "Let me think about it". In which you have asked You either don't like it or you like it but are not sure, which is it?.... My thought is on how to incorporate this with that to find out if a customer is stalling because they are not the only decision maker.

Great question! This is just another approach that you can use. There's alway more than one way to advance a sale :-) Let me know which approach is more your style and keep me posted on how it's working for you.

Thanks for replying@@VictorAntonioLive I am trying to help my team find ways to close the deal now. Some of my team are not comfortable with asking someone if they are the only person who can make a decision about buying furniture.

  • @vksprings9860

Thanks Victor for the great information. I understand that the question has to be asked. How ever asking it wrong will kill a deal and fast.
I am the decision maker and I will tell u that how a sales person treats my gatekeeper. Will determine wither I buy or not. In fact it is one of my tests of a company's integrity.
If I purchase a product. 9 times out of 10 it will be my staff using the product.
10 times out of 10 it will be my staff dealing with customer support.
If the company's salesmen does not respect my staff. I assume that their customer service will treat my staff just as poorly.
Again I understand the need for the question. But from experience most salespeople do not ask it correctly.
The tone, timing, even their assumptions, come across as insulting.

These Sales Videos on YT are misleading, because there are different techniques for: B2C, B2B, Enterprise, Midnarket, Soho, Technology / Consultative sale. I.e. the “Salesy,”, “always closing” consumer/SOHO sale, is horrible if applied in a I.e. corporate consultative sale.

Each video is for a specific market/type. Other videos are for b2b, agency, SasS, mid-market, contractors,...etc. My channel is a la carte, a buffet if you will. Take what you want,...leave what doesn't fit.
