I just want to say thank you for all you do. I am a level 3 horder (by USA standards) and have asked for help for years, but there is no help for someone in my area. I found your channel a month ago and your videos have inspired me. I have cleared an area so cooking is easier and safer. I now have an area cleaned so i can wash clothing and a clean area to store them. On good days I remove between 3 -5, 13 gallon size trash bags as well as any "new" trash. At my current rate it's going to take me around 6 months to completely finish. Less if i can find help to move out the heavy objects. Thank you again for motivating me to start on the road of recovering my home. Update: the house is almost done one closet and one dresser to go. I have been slowly making repairs and hope to be able to paint and do the floors in a few months time. I have to say it's a very freeing feeling not to be weighed down by all the "stuff" I was buried in. I feel my mental health is better as well as my physical health. Thank you all for your encouragement and well wishing as I truly believe that it kept me motivated.
Final update: I finally finished. Repairs and painting complete although I'm still replacing furniture. Just a warning to people like myself, it's super easy to back slide. Got new living room furniture and had an awful time getting rid of the old. "Oh I have plenty of room to keep this end stand". Gah I bought 2 news ones and was still arguing with myself. I can see this is going to be something I will struggle with for life. We need a horders anonymous. 🤔😄 thx all.... keep cleaning.

@@christinajimenez9324 The cat chooses the love of a broken person, without judgement.
Most of the pets of these broken people would return, if given the opportunity. A broken person usually has few human friends, often, they worry far more about others than themselves.
You want to deny them even their last loved non judgemental relationship. Cats or dogs judge people on kindliness, gentleness, trustworthiness. Not cleanliness and wealth and how full of self love and self protection dominates their thoughts.
These animals often have a choice to stay or leave. And they stay, happily and loyally.
I run an animal rescue - and there are a lot of animals that leave very clean, neat homes, because the people are ug ly inside. Many dogs would leave, but are prevented.
I don't know how many dogs live outside with no attention, rubbish food, no vet visits, not even a warm place to sleep and escape the worst weather, whilst owners live in neat houses and proudly identify as good Xtians.

As someone who has lived in the home of 2 drug addicts (both of my parents, my mother being a hoarder) these videos heal my inner child. Our previous home got to a point of no return about 2 years ago. Their addiction consumed every part of our lives and our house was destroyed. Being surrounded by and living in filth for years of your life changes you. It really does traumatize you. I've been battling PTSD and depression ever since we left that house. My parents are both sober now and we live in a new home, but it's still hard for us to clean. I can't see the floor in my room anymore and there's piles growing in our bathroom. Thank you for helping so many people like me. I know you probably will not see this, but your videos have inspired me to keep trying. You really are an angel.
    (update september 16th)
After posting this I hit a really difficult time in my life and eventually ended up hospitalized after the ending of a 2-year relationship. Since then, I have made many achievements in my mental health, got sober, began a healthy loving relationship, and for the most part have taken care of my room. My bedroom is still a bit of a mess, but I'm learning how to clean and take care of myself through therapy and the support of my family. Thank you all for the kind words

Get a dry erase board calendar and put it up. Designate days for certain chores, and mark garbage pick up day. Make a list of daily chores as well. Keep it simple. For example, Monday, bathroom, Tuesday, dusting, etc. Daily chores could be dishes, put away hints at the end of the day, cat litter. Base it off of your home and your needs. Decide who does what, and have them stick too it! It takes a little time and practice, but it beats waiting until chaos ensues!

I am so excited seeing the "after" pics and giddy thinking about her coming home to sort out her items and place them in treasured spots in her clean home. This was the most cathartic of your videos ever, Aurikatariina! While there was so much to do and that was lovely, I think the best part was hearing Olga's beautiful letter. Olga, I don't know if you're reading this, but you have a vision of better health for yourself and you are going to make it! Your letter said it all: you have observed your history, taken inventory of your resources and supports, identified what else you need to grow and effectively communicated your need for help to make it possible. You're amazing and you've got this! Nothing will stop you.
Auri, I'm just so grateful you do this service for people: the cleanings themselves AND the videos for everyone. You take a part of the health improvement process that many may find difficult and shameful and make it joyous and exciting. The real, earnest joy you feel while helping people get their homes in order becomes a part of their journey where there might have been struggle and pain instead. You are literally a gift.

I struggle with complex PTSD. So getting energy and motivation to clean is something that’s hard for me. I’ve suffered with this for a long time. I can relate to a lot of the people you’re helping. I didn’t get that kinda help. I got torn down from it. Mental illness is a struggle most will never understand.
I found your videos and I was amazed. More people than i realize go through the same thing, but they’re all ashamed and don’t talk about it. I’ve made it to a point where my house doesn’t get too bad.
But I do watch your videos before cleaning my house. It helps me feel better about myself because I’m not alone. Your positive attitude and energy gives me the motivation and energy I need for household chores. I find myself actually having fun cleaning because of your videos. Lol. I’ve even quoted things you say in your video while cleaning.
Thank you for helping the people you do in your videos. And thank you for helping people like me who are on the edge and just need that little push forward. You’re amazing. You have no idea how much you really help people.
