I have for the most part of my adult life made a living fixing things others gave up on, I love the thrill of the chase of troubleshooting, fishing reels are just as exciting as any other piece of equipment, if not more so
Kudos to Arnold!! He attempted to service his own reel after watching your channel! This is what your channel is all about! If we fail we put it in a bag and send it to the master! No harm no foul. Thanks Dennis your much appreciated!
I have the same reel but my issue is that when I crank it fast enough a weird grinding sound happens. I opened it up and it all looks good. I’m thinking it’s the braking system going off but I don’t really have much insight. Got the reel for 40 bucks. Anybody have something similar happen?
@@2ndChanceTackle Thank you for replying. It seems to be going from the actual pinion gear area. When I give it hard cranks it’s makes a skipping sound. I’m going to open it again to see if maybe something is too loose. I have a revo winch gen 1. Looks very similar inside going to compare them to see if maybe something has too much play ?
When you open the reel again, make sure to check the groves between the teeth. It is quite possible that something, like a small piece of broken line or hard grease, may be causing the issue if it is stuck none of the grooves
Sometimes it's not as easy as you make it look dennis. Nice work getting that abu back together!
Thanks 👍

Thanks - There is something to be said about giving the equipment a 2nd Chance! - Thanks as always for reminding me - Dennis

I appreciate that! Thanks
Nice Reel when it is put together properly.
the eared washer on the main gear looked off when you reassembled it. That may have been the noise till it seated itself.
Maybe. Sometimes it's just a mystery! Thanks

It is hard to say without hearing and pinpointing the noise. Is it coming from the spool? Sideplate - Which one? Line guide?
