that sandblaster is seriously impressive
It's a dream!
Especially with aluminum oxide as abrasive material
So glad to see you be able to knock out some old school resto videos. All your new tools make it seem so easy now and give such a nice finished product. Excited to see more and more of the workshop upgrades in the future. Cheers from America. 🍻
Thanks McFunnyBone! It feels great I must say. There is one final workshop update coming soon for this build and then who knows in the future :D Cheers! 🍻
I always hear he words “it’s only original once”
That is unless it’s made as good as new again, therefore it can be “original twice”
👍🏻👏🏻
Many thanks, Maverick!
So good to watch the your videos again without any voice overs
my dear Another successful job. All your new tools now make this so easy and produce such a beautiful finished product. Well done!!!!
Man that air compressor has some kick!! Beautiful restoration as usual
I can feel it in my chest when it does actualy kick in and start pumping up, its crazy. And thanks!
0:00: I don't care about an old kitchen scale. 21:59: OMG how gorgeous 😍 and what an enjoyable way to spend 22 minutes 😊
Haha, thank you, Cap! Appreciate the comment!
What a sense of detailing. You don't just fix it. You make it even look better than it was when it was new. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 😊
Very kind of you, thanks Remyaworld!
Nice video, cant wait for the e30
Wow. Awesome. Better than new.
I’m a big fan of the restoration videos but I do miss the narration 🥰😍🤩. Awesome video as always 👏🏻🙌🏻
Don't worry! All other content will have voiceovers. I'm working on a 3/4 part mini series that is completely narrated! :) And thank you as always, Tinman!
Merry Christmas 🥰😍❤@@RestoreIt
I actually love the silence of his old, classic videos. I miss it.
Thank you! Was concerned about the peening of the base. Excellent job! Be safe
Thank you! I was too, but soft aluminium is so much easier to work with than steel. You too!
Really fun restoration!
Glad you liked it. Cheers!
Phenomenal restoration
Nice video. Congratulations
Thanks very much!
Perfect !
Thanks, Rick!
Interesting scale. Nice restoration.
Thanks, jt!
Wonderful job you did restoring the kitchen scale. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.
Thank you, George!
Well done 👍
Great restoration well done 👌👌👍👍
Thank you! 👍
That was a really lovely restoration. I love that you kept the original scale
Another great restoration. Your sandblasting is probably the most incredible I have ever seen, truly amazing. It's quite therapeutic to watch. 😊
👏👏👏👏👏 I’m home sick with a cold just hoping you would post something today 🎉
I'm glad I did, feel better soon!
One tip from my side, never sand filler with a soft pat. Always use a sanding block with a hard surface, the result will be much smoother and straight. Anything else perfect job! And in terms of the originality, I might think an original is worth more but nobody can resist such a pristine looking but obvious old scale, beautiful!
Great work friend, have a great 2024 !!!.😀😀👍👍!!!.
Thank you, Cradley! And you too!
That is an awesome restoration
Thank you, Eddy! I appreciate it.
Very nice job
Très très belle restauration 🤩
Félicitations 👏👏👏
You need some Engineer Neji-saurus pliers for stuck screws like that.
I will check these out, thanks for the tip!
Loving these restoration side projects man! Great job.
Thanks, Jamman! I'm glad to hear it. An e30 mini series is coming next!
good job👍. You should lubricate the moving parts..
Beautiful restoration and color 😊
Thanks, Andrew!
Excellent looking restoration and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
I also subscribed to your chsnnel
Beautiful job! Also, this is a nice and unintrusive way to promote your sponsors. Congrats on that!
Thanks, MyTubeSVp!
nice job
Thanks!
I can just imagine Corporal Jones saying "a bit o' something extra, Mrs.?"
Love your work. Inspiring 👍
Thank you!
I miss the E30😭
You'll be pleased with whats coming next don't worry!
Very nice!
Thanks, Razorboy!
As always a restoration that is excellent! Really enjoy watching all the detail you go into for these projects. I really hope you'll invest in a powder coating system at some point, the finish that they produce is incredible in smoothness and shine. It would give your projects an even higher professional look in the end result! Good luck on your future projects and Happy New Year!
Hey Bartman. I agree with you 100%. The powder coating set up and professional oven has been secured. In the workshop as I type. Will show you soon! :D
Overall nicely done. Did you just put the weights back in the tube, or something else? How well is it calibrated, in other words. Also another question I had, did you not straighten the bowl? Or am I just immediately forgetting things (that's very possible).
Bro very interesting to know the inside of a scale like that, loved the green color .Next video how to restore diabetes .God bless I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you a a happy new year.
I really didn't know what to expect, but it was more complicated than I thought it was going to be. Thank you as always, mate, you as well.
Restaurada balanças de cozinha 😉
Thanks!
I think you were right to keep the scale and original bowl great video as usual
Thanks, RIS!
Nice.
Got a set of scales identical, my grandma's.
need to get impact screw driver dead blow hammer bit of a turn and evap -o rust. reusable. things to add w-d and kryoil different lubes sprays that way you don’t damage antique to stubborn screws. Sometimes soaking the part that has rust eliminates the rust before attempting heat etc.
Thanks for the tips, Mark. I tried an impact screw driver on it, but the body was quite weak being aluminum. I soaked it with w-d for some time to no avail. My issue is time. I have to produce these episodes as quickly as possibly and I just know heat will get the job done. Cheers!
I think for small part you should paint using powder coating
I have to agree with you, which is why I now have an oven and a poweder coating set up. Coming soon!
"this machine is a beast"
my brain: this machine is a blast
ba dum tss lol
Haha, I do have a blast every time I use it ;)
Love a good scale restoration.. what do you use to keep your sandblaster so clear? 👍👍
Thanks! And a three phase extractor
@RestoreIt thanks, mines cloudy as anything.. Will look into 👍
🤗
Thanks!
I love your video's and your job. I prefer Autos restoration...Happy new year anyway...
Auto restorations stuffs coming up next! :D You too!
Great watch as ever 👍🏻 gotta say though there's a slight annoying static sound all the time in the background. Can hear it when it's quiet. What is it?
I'll look into this rebug, thanks for letting me know. I think I know what you're talking about. It might be time for a new camera!
Were those additional “weights” inside the tube for cheating? Or were they for calibration?
Not a 1kg, but a 2.2lb bag of sugar... because despite going metric in 1971, we still prefer lb, oz and pints 🙂
Amazing job as usual.
I see other restoration channels use powder coating instead of spray, what do u think about it?
Thanks! I think I have a powder coating oven and guns ready for the final workshop build episode! :D
@@RestoreIt long for it 👍
which cold blueing are you using? I have always problem to get such even finish.
Super Blue :)
If it helps it's from the company Birchwood Casey. Timestamp 15:06
Nicely done as always but I think sometimes preservation rather than restoration is the way to go. Keep the social history of the piece.
This is why I didn't redo the dial. But the scale itself definetly needed restoration. It had been dropped and a lot of the paint was missing.
Where i can buy the super blue?
eBay should have it! :)
👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍🥃🥃🥃
Thanks, Roger!
What a strange design. It's like someone had a personal vendetta against the rack & pinion and was determined not to use one.
Haha, tell me about it. Clever, but maybe not the best way of doing it.
When are you going to rebuild the rebuilt m20 engine?
I have already done so, check out the 325i Sport playlist.
@@RestoreIt You must fix a lot of the errors
why didn't you remove the paint from the surface this time, but immediately started sandblasting? In the last video you said that it is not environmentally friendly :)
It's only not environmentally friendly (to your lungs) if the paint contains lead. This paint didn't so there is no risk of breathing it in
Maybe phillips screws aren't the best for this restauration project.
When is the e30 video coming 🥲🥲🥲🥲
E30 mini-series coming next!
"A 'FIELD' PRODUCT" rotated to much CCW. Letter A lower than letter T.
Made in Britain, so I'm thinking it's in grams, right?
It's so old its actually pounds and ounces.
Interesting, as the object has less value than the skill and labour put into its restoration
Yes, it was £5
