- The Boys and I spotted this home while driving past and just had to stop and see what the deal was. It was super overgrown so we asked the neighbor about it. He said it’s been sitting vacant ever since the person living there passed away 3 years ago. That’s when he told me the crazy story about how the 14 year old son actually tried to blow up the house with his parents inside when they wouldn’t allow him to get married at 14. He hid dynamite in the furnace but thankfully the furnace kicked on automatically when they weren’t home and their lives were spared. This house has been through a lot so we are gonna make it look new again. I got my friend Chris and his boys helping me out today which is great!

That backstory was straight out of a horror movie. But the Blessing Boys along with Chris and his boys just got through spiffifying that property. Does their hometown know that they have a treasure in their midst? They should.

My Dad did not have to try to show me about working, my dad was in the Air Force, he would get in uniform and leave for work, then come home after 5. This stuck with me to the point that felt obligated to go work when able. It is refreshing to see these two Dads showing those boys about honest work!!! I also followed my dad into the Air Force!

We can't always fix the past, but we can start where we are now. Thank you for doing the Blessing of cleaning up that property, giving it a re-start, and for the thoughtfulness of extras, as the neatened carport. Pleased also to see how many people pitched-in help.
We can't fix the past, true, but we can't fix the future either our country is falling apart at the seams, until we get president Trump back theses guys won't be able to afford gas to run their equipment, actually the past was better.

Just curious as to if the home is in Probate or the kids live away. I always wonder how places just become vacant for so long. Did the son and parents ever amend their issues and how the heck did a kid get dynamite. Oh I am as curious as a cat.

Usually when someone mows waist high grass like you did, the remaining lawn underneath is dark tan and looks dead. That lawn was amazingly green for how high it was. They must have got a lot of rain. That's a great before and after look that people are always pleased to see.
I always love the images of a nice cut lawn and a huge shade tree. My grandfather and I used to go sit out in those older hunter green painted metal chairs. He's have some ice tea and I'd get a soda in a bottle. He died in 1985 and I still think of him everyday and how great he was to me. Your videos are always so fun and calming to watch as you transform the lots into fine looking yards again.

That is one huge beautiful piece of property. After you, the boys. and friend got done with it, it looks like a park. I can see a game of flag football going on in this yard along with a big BBQ bash. Sad to hear the back story to this and also sad to see the home empty. It needs new and happier life in it. Kudos to all who worked on making this property look so good again. Too bad you had to put back and not touch a bunch of junk left behind on the porch and in the car port.
The Blessing Boyz added a little sunshine on a sad house and story. The community is so much better off with a big eyesore cleaned up and a little normalcy returned to the neighborhood. God Bless
That's a good size lot and the house could be nice with some TLC. It's a shame that no one did anything with it after the owner passed away. Another awesome clean up!!

God Bless You and your son's for what you do. I wish someone would have helped my widowed mom out. The grass was nothing like your cutting but the city cited her $300 brought city workers in to mow. Took them 5 min. No cutting bushes, trees, or cleaning close to the fence. They left it looking worse than leaving the grass little too high for their liking. She was 80. Shows how her town helped their seniors that had lived their their entire life. I lived too far and am disabled to keep it cut as short as the city wanted her to keep cut. I would cut it when I could. Others had longer lawns but they ignored them. So thank you and bless your hearts for helping people out at a bad time in their life.
