this is absolutely redonkulously amazing. YOU ARE AMAZING. i think you reduced studying this from 3 hours to 30 minutes and i completely get it now. thank you so much!!!!
My entire developmental anatomy class in medical school didn't give me as much information as you did in this one single video. Preparing for STEP 1...thank you...you are amazing!
Mate this is a fantastic video and your attitude (genuine interest towards embryological development) is infectious. You've helped make a somewhat confusing topic as simple as possible but no simpler, thank you
OK, Ignore that jerk below.....these videos are saving me in vet school. Please make more videos for more difficult concepts!!! These are incredible for visual learners like myself. Also, to the jerk below, please do not reply to this comment, I really don't care to argue with you. I am in professional school and don't have time for catty rudeness. Keep up the amazing work, my friends and I really appreciate this stuff. You seriously have like 1/3 of our class watching your videos.
Thanks! I wasn't too concerned about the comments although it is true that I could stand to drop a few pounds :-). That being said, the microphone I used in this video made all my inhalations sound super-pronounced and it is slightly off-putting. I'll see about leveling sound a bit better in the future.
I have seen many pharingeal archs videos. and for more THIS IS THE BEST ,for its simplycity and logical way of developing events and positions of developing organs. Thank you so much
Absolutely brilliant. You are a great teacher and an asset to any university.Hope you are a lecturer and making anatomy simple for fellow students.I am writing my primaries exams in Orthodontics and find your vid a great help.God bless..............
Nice explanation of that. Just to answer your question in the video - The inferior parathyroid gland is actually attached to the thymus which migrates inferiorly taking the gland with it. That's why it ends up under the other one.
I certainly appreciate this video too. I was having so much trouble following the university lecture and understanding the reading material. Brilliant. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much, now I understand so much better than I ever could have after mugging up 20 pages of it God bless you, and please keep up the good work!!!❣️❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so much for the GREAT VIDEO! Had studied before but after watching your video once, it straight get it stuck in my brain! BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Dental Student from Malaysia!! :)
Excellent video! I was so lost since our lecture was 30 pages of words and I'm a visual/ auditory learner. Thank you SO much for this, helped me understand all this MUCH better.
yeah basically the sup. parathyroid glands begin at the lower 4th arch but don't move down much while the inf. parathyroid glands start higher at the 3rd arch but end up moving down much more so their names reflect their final positions after moving down (not their initial positions) also great cranial nerve pathway videos really helped thank you
Absolutely great! I'm specializing in Otolaryngology and this is so helpful! I can't find any good textbooks that help understand embriology. Now it's all clear in my head, thanks!
really good video! one nitpicky thing, the thymus is where t lymphocytes produced in the bone mature into cd4+ or cd8+ tcells etc. b- lymphocytes mature in the bone.
Not only is this clearing up the embryology for me, its really making it easier for me to organize my thoughts on the adult anatomy. Yet again, your videos have saved my backside. Thank you.
Contd from previous comment. I was really curious about the reason behind the origin of the inf and sup parathyroid gland from the 3rd and the 4th arch and I actually came closer to the screen to listen more carefully and then you go,"you got me! I got no clue about that!" And i had this
Wow....I’m hard to impress, and I’m really impressed. You taught this so well, good on you. Thank you so much, i always say if you understand something at a level of mastery then you can teach it through drawings.
Dude u r the best.. Video is Damn helpful... Am awesome way to teach.. This is the first comment Iam giving since Iam in RUclips... Damn, ur teaching is awesome..
I’m absolutely not a biologist (I’m a geologist) but I wanted to know what theses weird 4 arches were on an embryo on carnegie stage 16. It’s very well explained ! Thank you so much :)
Very nice explanation. Just wondering something at the end of the explanation, about C-cell of the thyroid. I'm not quite so sure if it's from the neural crest.
This was an awesome video, thanks a bunch. Also I think technically the ultimobranchial body creates the "pocket" to where the neural crest cells migrate into to form the C-cells. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Regarding the parathyroid glands and how the 3rd fold give rise to the lower, and 4th to the upper pair. Maybe it's because they attach while the thyroid descends. The inferior part of the thyroid gland will reach the 3rd fold first, and they attach there. As it descends more, the upper part of the thyroid will reach the level of the 4th fold and they will attach as the upper parathyroid glands.
You get cooler in my mind by each video :'D (I am pretty sure you are really cool wherever you are teaching too :) ). I was really curious to know about t

You're too good at explaining this, learned more on youtube than on uni. Greetings from Holland.
Daniël van der Waals greetings from Australia, cheers :)
van der waals?? are you a grandchildren of "the" van der waals??:D
Great video. One correction though, B cells do not become T cells. Immature T cells mature in the thymus, immature B cells mature in the bone marrow.
+Kevin Christopher THIS
Thank you. Seriously. Finally makes sense why the tympanic membrane has so many origins.

Peter J Ward i havent even noticed that! all what i heard is amazing science made very easy.. thank you a Million times!
Sir, You are the real lifesaver . thanks a lot . With gratitude from-India.
I have seen many pharingeal archs videos. and for more THIS IS THE BEST ,for its simplycity and logical way of developing events and positions of developing organs.
Thank you so much
I read about embryos very much before but didn't understand the arches and pouches like now
Thanks a lot

Mind = Blown!! Finally wrapped my head around this whole concept. Thank you Sir!
Nice explanation of that. Just to answer your question in the video - The inferior parathyroid gland is actually attached to the thymus which migrates inferiorly taking the gland with it. That's why it ends up under the other one.
really a very simplified easily digestible and crystal clear description of a very difficult topic i really appreciate
Good
I certainly appreciate this video too. I was having so much trouble following the university lecture and understanding the reading material. Brilliant. Thanks so much.

you are a great gift to the medical science sir... keep educating us like this.
Excellent video! I was so lost since our lecture was 30 pages of words and I'm a visual/ auditory learner. Thank you SO much for this, helped me understand all this MUCH better.
This is gold man, this video deserves a nobel prize!

This was an awesome video, thanks a bunch. Also I think technically the ultimobranchial body creates the "pocket" to where the neural crest cells migrate into to form the C-cells. Correct me if I'm wrong!
Hi,
Do you happen to have your drawing of the developmental and adult phases of the branchial apparatus? It's really good!
Regarding the parathyroid glands and how the 3rd fold give rise to the lower, and 4th to the upper pair. Maybe it's because they attach while the thyroid descends. The inferior part of the thyroid gland will reach the 3rd fold first, and they attach there.
