No, the price of XRP is directly correlated to its Market cap due to supply and demand. There's a reason people don't buy thousands of SOL or ETH but they do XRP...once XRP price goes up, not as many buyers. How many XRP would you be buying if it was $5 each? Same as you buy now? Why not? Why do you think other people would? How about at $10? You a buyer of thousands at $20? No and no one else is
@MikeC-my4lf yes but the question is what makes the price of xrp rise? It is not simply people buying the xrp tokens and creating a smaller supply. It is how many items are being transacted on the xrpl....the more items being transacted, bought and sold, the more tokens are needed to be used. You can only transact something that has been tokenized.... the more things tokenized, the more transactions can be had and ultimately more xrp needed to make it run smoothly. The only way to stabilize the value at that point is from a high xrp price. So we need multiple things tokenized and transacted on in order to have a high xrp...so predicting an xrp price is ridiculous without knowing how many things are tokenized on the ledger and being transacted.
@@chrisrobinson4561 2 things...first: price has an impact...raising the price of something there is 100 billion of is way harder than raising the price of something there is 100 million of. Second, the price of XRP doesn't matter for what it does. If everything on earth were tokenized on XRP and all cross border transactions used XRP, it could do everything at a price of 10 cents per XRP. A billion dollar transaction can be done at 10 cents by firing off a 1000 micro transactions and be done in a couple minutes max without it fluctuating the price at all

on exchanges. Instead, they can copy the blockchain and use it for various transactions. So why should the price of the xrp increase?

Just found this interesting document: Per the judge’s statement, Ripple had been selling its XRP token under “Regulation D” in the U.S., which - due to the Regulation’s “bad actor disqualification” provision - it can no longer do. That’s because the $125 million fine Ripple was subject to in the same ruling disqualifies it. Ripple asked the judge to waive the disqualification but the judge declined.
And the disqualification could imperil the use of XRP to facilitate payments, particularly cross-border ones.
