- In 1975, Tom Snyder introduced a recorded segment on his program, The Tomorrow Show that was a parody of his own show. In it, Harry Shearer appears as Snyder. Also featured as 'guests' are Michael McKean and David Lander, who were the two nitwits Lenny & Squiggy on Laverne & Shirley at the time. Shearer is a well-known voice artist, still performing voices for The Simpsons.
This recording was originally made on 2-inch quad tape from the NBC network feed, recorded in Columbia, SC.
I haven't seen this in years. Love watching it again!
OAD October 2 1975 (** originally listed to air on a special Tomorrow broadcast Saturday September 27 1975 with guests Jerry Lewis and the Not Ready for Prime Time Players from the soon-to-premiere "NBC's Saturday Night". Several sources lead to the possibility that Dan Aykroyd's impression of Tom Snyder was inspired from seeing this video of Shearer's impression.)
A grainy 3/4" transfer of this video was available during the early years of RUclips, but your upload is a beautiful clean upgrade. Thank you for this!
Thanks for this upload, highly appreciated!
Tom was a true class act
