i’m insulted if nintendo really thinks pocket camp is what’ll hold us over til the next one asdfgjeidk (slightly joking but not really) ;o; it makes sense though. i remember when new horizons came out, i got a survey question on the pocket camp app that asked if id still play pocket camp after acnh releases. 😏 it’s a cute game but veeeeery grindy if you don’t wanna spend all your irl bells.
I'd argue that Happy Home Paradise could have been the "spin-off" of the New Horizons generation, but was just scaled back and packaged as a DLC instead of a separate game. This was probably the better option too since I think more players would be willing to give it a try and purchase it if it's already inside New Horizons.
I want something like amiibo Festival, but good. An Animal Crossing Mario Party clone could work, but it needs actual mini games and depth. Oh yeah, and not locking everything behind a figure. Never do that again. Plus, desert island escape was fun, so they know how to make mini games. Just get some people that actually make the Mario Party games to help with board design and gameplay features.
Caves, dungeons and combat would immediately put me off a new entry, that's not what I play Animal Crossing for. Though when I say caves, I mean caves that are dungeons. Caves in the side of the hill in the village that aren't too big, maybe have some resources, that would be neat. Add a "descend into the depths" of any kind and I'm out.
Hopefully they either release a new game soon or at least some type of spin off like you said Kora. In the mean time I’m gonna try and find more animal crossing collectibles 😂🥓 great video as always

Would the Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons technically count as a spin-off? I mean, it's pretty much a sequel to Happy Home Designer if you think about it. But if we were to get another spin-off for Animal Crossing, then hopefully it won't be another Amiibo Festival situation.
the Nintendo switch 2 is estimated to come out September 28th of this year and its pricing is not that bad at $399-$450 the new animal crossing looks to be coming out with the new switch - hope this helped

xD I recently found a new method for getting the most nook miles renovating my villager homes You can get 10,000 nook miles in about 20 minutes or less, I made a video if anyone wants to see a run unedited (sorry for plugging here, but its more about letting people who want to hunt for nook miles know)
nintendo seems pretty defensive of their IPs and for a good reason, the mario brothers movie and the american pc zelda game were awful and they must just have trust issues now, rockstar the company that made GTA was going to make a kirby game
I have an idea animal crossing could do for the next animal crossing and add solar eclipse and lunar eclipse to the game since there won’t be another one in the US until 2044 it would add more real world aspects tonit we have meteors so why not eclipse I know Celeste would like this suggestion.
I feel like Nintendo will do something with Animal Crossing this year, if I had to guess they would bring the OG Animal Forest from N64, port the GameCube translation to it and release it on Switch Online. Or a full-on port. I think an Amiibo Festival remaster could work well on Switch, considering every 1st party controller HAS an amiibo reader. But the more sensible option would be to rebrand it as "Animal Crossing Festival" and have the Amiibo stuff as a side mode. And then of course add minigames and more layouts to make it more interesting. But I am expecting something this year, not a full-game, but something new.
I think that they should introduce light, LIGHT survival elements like hunger into the game. You wouldn't starve or take damage or anything, but maybe you could have some kind of buffs from different foods you make. That way there's a reason to farm, and eat, and it will serve to keep you busy while playing.
So, your mention of a dungeon crawler got me thinking back to Miitopia. Maybe a mash with that could be fun? There's a slice of life flavour to that one, I can see slotting villagers into that working out better than Miis
I don’t care how long it takes till the next successor of ACNH. All I care about is a full game at time of release, I don’t want a bare bones games where we are slow dripped with small updates. Then abandon us just as the game felt fuller…. We need mini games, we need villagers with actual personalities and better dialogue… ACNH could’ve been the best AC game ever but they chose to move on
I can only speak for myself, but I don’t want any crappy spin offs. HHP is plenty. They should be putting resources towards developing the next installment to surpass NH, not wasting it on spin offs
I really hope that they add mini games to the next Animal Crossing game! I feel like multiplayer would have been so much more fun if there were at least some mini games to do. For example it could be cool if you could actually play chess on the chess board or something. Anyway great video!

The longer we go without a new AC game of some sort, the more time people have to overanalyze and pick apart New Horizons.
To be fair, a lot of new horizons should be picked apart to make the next game better
Pokemon games come out every year but that doesn't stop people from nitpicking the hell out of them
