Im actually looking forward to SoA. Can honestly say I took such a long hiatus from AO (because if the amount of toxic pos players and the breeding system was just a dumpster fire), that I had no idea the server was down. Went to their FB page to check out the updates, saw it hasnt been updated since June, went down a rabbit hole and ended up here.

Seems like a waste of time. I mean the idea of two projects going at the same time is only a comfort now that the exisiting server is down. I just don’t understand why they’re seemingly trying to do exactly what’s already been done. Especially starting now with such slow progress. If they were focusing on 2.0 I’d be interested. Alex has already given us back almost the full game and added new things. Just odd somebody else wants to try tackle all these things themself when it’s been already been done quite successfully. The plan for it to be moddable is the only new feature I’ve heard them want to bring to the table, and they don’t even know how to get the game up and running. Bleh.
@@Silverstreak. Yeah my concern is what is gonna be added to seperate it from AO it could be years till they get it up and running or even up and running and adding new or different things to seperate it apart. I do plan to keep an eye on it though in the event that AO goes down for good it would be nice to at least have a plan B but that's IF they get it up and working.
I also kinda see it as a preservation of sorts too, cause if AO goes down I doubt Alex would allow anyone access to the files let alone his code at that point.
"they dont know how to get the game up and running" and you do??! they are working on it, which is more than you ever did & the reason those projects will be seperated anyways is because suprise: we dont have access to alex's server and with that no access to our data. but since you are so clever you show us a way to get the game running again :)

they're actively working on the game + alex's version has made different aspects of the game different from the original korean server such as speed teams (not to mention that time attack doesn't work 90% of the time with shoes not being registered) + they do know how to get the game up and running - they're working on doing just that as of right now and since the project was started + not a waste of time if it's for preserving this game especially if AO ever goes down.

this game stops working every few years, stops opening on my computer lol i just have to wait till they get hackers off their files orwhatever idrk why it messes up

@@Majonese It is safe. It gets flagged as a false positive though because of how it gets installed I've been playing for about 9 years and have no issues. It is currently down though so you won't be able to play yet if you do download it.

6:52 well aint nobody forcing you to play the game. if alex's server come back, good for you. if not: play SoA or suck it up. you want your own horses back? then create your own modded server with the SoA tool and cheat them- like it aint that deep
