Once they had control, Activision could have strategically planned to release the H2M mod under their own branding, possibly as Modern Warfare 4, promoting it as the biggest Call of Duty release ever. Imagine launching a game with over 50 multiplayer maps already crafted by the H2M team. They could have taken it a step further by involving all their studios-Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Raven, etc.-to work on the game together, polishing it to a pristine level and adding even more content, like new maps, modes, and more. To cater to different player preferences, they could have created two distinct playlists: one featuring the classic MW2 movement and another with the modern Call of Duty mechanics. This would have appealed to both nostalgic fans and those who enjoy the latest gameplay styles. Additionally, Activision could have introduced unique camos, skins, and other cosmetic items to monetize the game even further, creating a massive revenue stream. Releasing classic OG Modern Warfare 3 maps as DLC throughout the year would have kept the player base engaged and excited. By shutting down the H2M mod, Activision missed a chance to turn a community-driven project into a blockbuster title under their own control. It’s frustrating to see them pass up on such a massive opportunity to create something truly epic with the combined efforts of all their studios, the ability to cater to different movement preferences, and extensive monetization potential.

It's legit my guy, it's just an exe they've created as a simple IP scraper to automatically update your favorites.json located in your players2 folder so the master server works now. The files have all been leaked, did you not watch the video? All these people are doing is fixing it up a little. Best to use your own judgement but personally, I got no MS Defender notifications and all servers are basically full it's hard to even get in one but it doesn't take long just have to keep trying, lots of people playing rn
Once more ppl host servers it will get better tho. But they do even say that their .exe they made isn't technically essential to run the H2mod.exe, since it's only meant to replace your favorites.json, you could alternatively just ask someone for their favorites.json file if you really are that suspicious of the .exe. All this file is, is a lost of servers, so when u go into your server list you press f2 to filter your favorites and then all the server pop up. Basically it's a temporary workaround they're using to fix the regular server list at the moment.
