  • Chinko spans through over 64,000km2, and is one of the most remote and intact wilderness areas in Africa -hosting one of the largest continuous areas of primary natural vegetation with almost no measurable impact of humans. Despite the devastating effects of decades of civil war and rampant poaching, remnant populations of key species miraculously survived. In 2014, African Parks signed an agreement with the Government of CAR to manage Chinko. Since then, conservation law enforcement is helping return Chinko to a safe haven for wildlife, returning peace to the land. Ndondondo Bienvenu was raised as an elephant hunter, but today he calls Chinko’s elephants his children and works every day to protect the few hundred that remain. Watch our film to see the vital role African Parks rangers play in protecting Chinko’s wildlife.

What a magical place! Those butterflies! And cute dung beetle! But Dear Lord! That slaughter! From thousands of elephants to a handful - 100 hundred. Can't even imagine that carnage....Luckily African Parks arrived and with it the people changed...Thank you for safeguarding this and other places...Africa is like no other continent on this spinning rock we call home..:-)))
