But what really made me think that was the white Alio randomly running off when he got you bloody and he wasn’t, and the 2 ceras that had you bone broken but chose to lay down in front of you instead of chomping on you at the same time
Solid gameplay, honestly for me Alio’s been the most fun to play. It’s like you’re big enough as an adult to not get straight bullied but the top-shelf herbivores and carnivores but it’s more fun to be the master of Guerilla tactics and being able to break and run if things get too heated.
Yes i love the ability to run away lol.
They were good fights, def PoT is way ahead of other dinosaur games in terms of things to do in-game... probably it is better for those who look for a more 'role-playing' experience (if I understand correctly).
The roleplaying thing, I've encountered it in PoT a few times but because most people who want to do it go to a very specific server and it spreads out of it very little.
I have seen more of it in the isle legacy though. But could be cus I don't do the rp servers in pot lol.
There's not really that much "more to do" in PoT. More so if you take legacy and evrima both against it. There is some more character variation due the trait system though. But there is no scent and no flying. You have skins to grind, if you like that.
For the isle player switching to pot will feel like a down grade. But after you get through the adjustment period you can appreciate it for what it is. It's little more lighter experience that is more forgiving of shenanigans. Once you are adult that is, because growth in PoT is slower than in the isle.
PoT is the only dinogame available to mac users. So some people literally have no choice in which of these games to play.

I noticed that compared to any damage output, all playables have an enormous amount of HP, which makes survival a lot easier in my opinion.
Probably the thing I like most (compared to Evrima) is a more complete user interface with a ton more infos and grindable skins (that will be in Evrima 'The Isle - soon' lol).
So, in the end, it really is 'just' more playables than Evrima - with no many more core mechanics / possible gameplays bound to them.

I feel like the trait system is definitely one of the more interesting aspects of PoT. Simple unlockables change your character so much. You can really have very different experiences as the same animal just by having different traits.
I should definitely loop back and figure out more of it. I'm not about the numbers life, I just want to actually see the differences.
Probably because I suck at math lol...
I do recommend downloading the free demo, it won't let you play all characters. But it's good way to know if one wants to play the game.
Because I can tell you how much I hate acorns, but you won't understand why before you try it. XD
@@Narsku8833 the isles is the down grade sure u level faster but perm death the graphics are better but less optimize and legacy is done never getting updated again and their updates for e is far and few 6 dinos yikes 😬 pot is an upgrade I felt instantly like I was playing the better game from the community to the devs

I'm not going to argue about personal opinions, yours are as valid as mine and I thank you for bringing them out for someone else who might end up feeling the same way as you do.
However, the community isn't any better in PoT that it is in the isle. Both of these games have absolutely wonderful people in them, but they also have the folk who were born and raised in radioactive waste.
There is more ways to abuse the system in PoT though.

Its a bad thing that they nerfed alio, alio is now one of the "worse" mid tiers now. while cera has been getting extra armor and better swimming alio keeps getting nerfed, and so does conca. Devs should at least make its stam 200 instead of 150.
Alio was a bit op before this video was made, so it has gotten a lot of nerfs lately. Conca is apparently getting some of its bleed back, but I hope it's not going to be as much as it was before. Because when I was playing amarga I died like 2-3 times to a group of 3+ concavs. They just rotate and bleed shit out.
Alio still does good amount of damage. Yes it takes a bit more care to play it nowdays but the damage output is still the same. I will have to try it again at some point to actually see how bad the nerfs have made it.
@@Narsku8833 ur right, conca and alio were unbalanced. But they messed up alios stam and concas bleed, a laten could literally take on a conca, if not with ease. They should buff the bleed but not too much, same with alio

Alio could have such good potential if they would give him a special ability, like speed call or maybe a venom or bleed attack?
Probably to similar to metri with venom and it might not make sense. Bleed maybe, speed calls sounds interesting.

Maybe it's bc i don't have the patience anymore for PvP as a 30 year old, but that bit with the little scummy Styro in the mixed herbo pack constantly picking at you was kind of annoying tbh. 😒
How are you gonna **START** a fight with a predator that wasn't even hunting you, then bitch out when your health gets low and run to the adults/intentionally die in the water to deny you your meal? The best dino wins all; that's the whole point of PvP in these games. 😂🤷🏽♀️
There was one Evirma (?) server where the rules were:
-If you start PvP, you HAVE to finish. You can touch-and-go, but you can't fully disengage.
-Winner of the duel must victory broadcast, then sit on their kill for a few IRL minutes.
-Herbos are not allowed to corpse guard. If the predator wins, move along and allow them to eat.
-Predators are not allowed to kill indiscriminately. Only hunt when you're hungry.
I love those server rules bc it allows a fair amount of PvP/RP while minimizing trolling and toxic players so that ppl actually get to GROW their dinos instead of waste time. Idk; just my 2 cents.
I found it funny that it followed me so far from his "safety net". It was kinda annoying at first, but once I realized that I can lure him out I was having a blast because I knew I'll kill him.
You can actually pick up meat from water, so as long it doesn't go too deep you can still reach it and eat it.
Btw it's a good example of "you cannot main a thing effectively if you don't play the things you intend to fight". Had he known how alio works he would have known that as long I can hover around him and not engage I'll heal quick as hell. He would have known not to follow.
I don't have trouble growing atm, I die usually about twice as my juvies while I record these videos. And I'm a juvi quite a long time since I play on officials. Playing any of the big slow herbis though is much harder. I grew my iggy mainly by just questing at the very edges and going to hotspots to only do couple quests and then leaving immediately after.
A lot of isle servers have admin abuse and favoritism so rules don't even get followed.

I wanted to post a new comment after having a ton of playtime on Alioramus. If you haven’t tried if already. Try Counter Balance and Dense Feathers combo. Oh is it so good and it’s a slept on combo. You use Dense Feathers for increased defense and Run Counter Balance to completely Negate the speed loss from Dense Feathers and Dense Feathers counters the turning debuff from Counter Balance. Very slept on combo

@@Narsku8833 You gain more defense and keep your speed but lose a tail attack worth the trade off since your tankier and hit harder with tyrants roar.
What base build did you choose?
I just run defense species with balance tail and skip thick hide. You lose some turn radius, but you are faster overall.
@@MegaAppleshitefense subspecies is not bad but it’s no where near as good Counter Balance and Dense Feathers that combo keeps you at 1220 movement while making you tankier and faster then defense subspecies. Because you lose 40 speed with subspecies only to increase your armor to 1.1 and dense will boost you 1.4. Counter balance cancels the speed lose from dense feathers.

The tyrants roar I activate is in response to his tyrants. It only buffs members of your group. But yea both of us had it active.

It applies to all tyrannosaurids. So alio, rex and daspleto.

Do you recommend speed subspecie+ def skin or balanced with other skin?

Usually speed + balanced is what I play with. This is because usually running double speed means you have horrible turn radius. If you run speed + balanced you are faster than most of your kin and those that are faster than you have so much worse turn radius that you can easily pick them off.
Take note of how close those ceras get to me. Building a slower alio means other midtiers like metri, cera, conca and allo have a chance of catching you.

Officials mostly. Majority of my older videos is recorded on officials, as is this alioramus as well. However on my new ones you will see a border around the thumbnails. That border tells you immediately if it is on officials or not. If you see pink it's on officials.

Hello mate, at 26:35 how it is possible those Ceratos was able to catch a speed alio? Alio is 1220 balanced and Cerato speed is 1100
It was foggy and I ran in to a poor position, which I tried to recorrect and ended up too close to them. A lucky shot.
It's also possible one of them were double speed. Double speed cera is pretty quick.
What build would you recommend for current alio(cuz its like nerfed rlly bad) and how should I hunt and play with current alio rn (srry for so many questions)
I have not tested out post nerf alio too much yet. But if it's similar to deinon I feel like it shouldn't be too bad. What was the nerf exactly targeting? Wasn't it stam and tail?
I would still build a speed alio. If you are building speed creatures without building them for speed...why bother lol? Though probably still would opt out of speed hide, as speed without agility is useless.

@@Dinosauria167 Alio is probably one of the best riders due its generally good damage, tyrants roar and fast heal. I'd use it to ride, disengage, heal up, ride again and disengage till the prey is dead. You just gotta know that you heal faster than them and do enough damage for it to be worth it.
Due the stamina nerf I recommend walking a lot and running only when you need to.
For best heal speed remember to keep your food and water relatively high. If you are hunting large prey with half a stomach you won't make it. If you are hunting small prey, do crouch bites, not just crouching, you gotta crouch, bite and get immediately back up. It's a bit tricky tho.

How does tyrants roar work
Once you activate it it will boost the damage dealt by all tyrannosaurids in the group, as long they are close enough to you, for the time shown on the timer.
So for that time your attacks do more damage than usually.

I heard it increases dmg by 1.11x, but if stacks four times does it stack to 1.44x or 4.44x

Damn that must have been hilarious. I think he might have ran out of stam, as I feel like that would be the only reason for it.
It does seem like a lot of people think alio is perfect for KoSing. So a lof of people over estimate their capabilities.
And like I said in this video too, running out of stam is death. And that's simply because alio's are incredibly weak. If you manage to eat away his stamina as a megalania, you will kill him, because the stam regen is much faster on mega and your venom will not let him even start regaining anything. ( though it seems that the red eye icon stops you from healing now too, so say you have a juvi, make it go bite it every 30 seconds or so and the alio won't heal at all. And keep yourself away from the teeth untill you healed enough. Which btw also means that if this is a thing now you must get rid of anything that makes you unable to heal during a fight. Regardless of damage they cause it's still 30 whole seconds of not healing.)

Is full balanced build better or your build? For alio ofc.
I wouldn't know tbh. I feel like these things depends heavily on the person and their play style.
My logic however is that with speed base I will be faster than most things and with defense hide I'll be able to out turn things faster than me. Say you are chased by full speed alio, he'll catch up but you'll catch him in a turn and easily outmaneuver him. So you have very few things that are faster than you and those that are in fact faster have lower health pools and are relatively easy to take down. Or scare off at least.
I feel like standard alio might be very similar to speed + def alio. Idk. But if it is, note that growing the speed alio will be faster, as the hide options are locked till enough growth is gained.
@@Narsku8833 but a balanced alio is faster than a speed+defense hide, and defense hide doenst give turn the speed subspecies gives turn. The only defense hide that gives turn is thick scales. Ill try your build ty : >.
@@zearosss759 Idk lol, I almost never see balanced alios? I seen defense, I assume, the melanistic alio I fought in this video but not balanced ones.
Doesn't matter with the speed though as long you can cut off their path and keep up with it.
Kinda like if you are full def alio against a speed alio, just in this case you probably have less health than your opponent so it's a tad more tricky.

Edit: I checked up on what defense alio looks like and the one i fought in this video is not that. So I'd assume the mela alio I fought is balanced then.

When did they nerf alio
I'm not sure when it happened. But I know there were two. First nerf alio got was for its tail, it used to be able to spam the tail attack. The seconds nerf was for its stamina, and this was a more recent nerf.

All carnivorous dinosaurs should get bleed just for it's jaws and teeth, they would do a lot more bleed that a dinosaur's claws.
Yeah it would make more sense. But there are people who don't want anything to have bleed lol.
