Wow.... was trying to decide on Garmin again or some other MDF. We loved our 8600 units. But if we can afford it the 9000's are a game changer and head and shoulders above anything else on the water. Our last system integrated so well with everything in our electronics package.

What is necessary to connect a transducer? My dealer tells me that a "blackbox" sonar is necessary? It would be very nice to get a video what is neccesary to run it with a sidevü transducer with the best possible resolution that the 9xxx series provides. What is the minimum setup to have the optimized quality of 4K and the huge computing power?

Negative sir, blunt replaces traditional rj-45 network cables. Bluenet runs top to GB speeds as traditional was 10/100. They came out with this to keep up with network demands increasing from HD cameras to 4k video being shared across the network, 100/100 just can't keep up. Hope this helps.

They are unafforable. The price point is way to high. For the average boater.

Buy what you can afford. Some can afford the very best. Luckily Garmin has us all covered. I had the 8600 series and loved it. Next, build I'd love a 9000 in the lower helm and 8600 upper. Not sure if I can afford it either.
