    I have the spin clean and was thinking of getting a Hummingbird and doing both.

      Yeah I don't have any experience with a Ultrasonic Cleaner but the humming Guru is at a price point where a lot of people are getting them. The vinyl attack did a review of the humming Guru

    Mofi has really been the only guys sticking to the 45 rpm format in the last couple of years. But for everyone else reissuing audiophile records, I think this is primarily a pressing plant capacity issue since 2020, 2x45= twice as many records to press. The backlog already means that unless they can charge double, it's not a money maker to tie up the presses doing double the slabs of vinyl. It seems clear with Tone Poets as the model for the various Acoustic Sounds Series from Universal (Verve) and Craft that selling $38 single audiophile LP's, or ultra high price UHQR and OneStep 2x45 is where the sweet spots are.

    Hi Ron, great video. I would recommend that you regularly clean the pads in the SpinClean. I use three VinylStyl units, which use brushes similar to Knosti, one tank for rinse, second tank for cleaning fluid, third tank for rinse again. I have motorized them. I am lazy and don't like turning records around and round........

      Thanks bro with the cleaning solution so cheap I dump the tank every 10 records and clean the brushes

    WSup Rockin' Ron, I recently bought a "spin cleaner" called "record friend" from Amazon! It's a cheaper version of the "spin clean" only it comes in black instead of yellow! When I clean my record's on it it's noisier with more pops with "white junk" stuck on the stylus, and like you said, after a couple plays it's quiet again (quiet as a record can be)! So I came up with a plan to where after I clean them, I play them on an older cheaper brand (not too cheap) record player twice, before I play them on my "good" TT and it's OK again! You saying if I don't use the "cleaning fluid" that came with it and just use water, they'll play fine the first time? Because I have yet to try that!

      Yes brother your soap the cleaning fluid that came with your cleaning machine, is what your hearing.
      just try water maybe you can get ilfotol don't use the soap you can't wipe it off the records some folks don't have the problem because they don't have a good turntable and can't hear the soap

    Great video Ron. Many Thanks. Would love to see how you clean your records. I'd invest the $325 but never thousands!!

      I have a couple other videos the last couple about Tergikleen clean and people were asking me about the process so I'm going to make a video for that I actually already did but the sound was messed up so I have to make another one

    Yep... I use Ilfotol in my DIY Ultrasonic RCM that I made (you really should check out my 4 part series and the pictures of my full system underneath 😊) But yes, mainly the cleaning and importantly the vacuuming is vital. I just wish I had *MORE* hair to stand up! 😲

    Ron what is the Ilford product exactly ? Thanks

    • @RocknRonni
      @RocknRonni  Год назад +1

      I think it's mainly used in the photography area for film when making prints in the final rinse so it doesn't have any water spots I guess so the water doesn't bead up and runs off and doesn't leave any spotting.

    Thanks for making this video. I think this is the same route I'm going to go down but instead of the Spin Clean I'm going with a Knosti Disco Antistat. It uses brushes instead of pads. Record Dr. isn't quite as cheap here in Canada but is still a bargain compared to automatic offerings.

    damn...i ordered the 45rpm edition of Stand Up but was persuaded that my remastered 33.3rpm was almost as good so probably not worth paying out £80 for the 45rpm. Now it seems i've made the wrong decision...again. Steely Dan are having their catalogue remastered by UHQR at 45rpm so wonder if you will be investigating these editions (the debut and Countdown To Ecstasy i believe are already available). BTW are you suggesting i should not use a scrubbing brush to clean my records Ron? 😄Thanks for the video Ron ...always entertaining and informative.
