Success!!!! I made a few missions at my local park slash soccer fields. The first mission I made the Drone went too far and the geofencing brought it back so I kind of made some small missions Within the geofencing perimeter and it worked very well I was very impressed. So now I've extended the geofencing perimeter even farther but due to the wind I will have to try it out another day keep you posted.
Scott Kyba i agree. This was the best $100.00 i spent. The drones software gives you endless possibilities. Thank you for the video's. They are very detailed. Hope to see more. Oh yea I forgot to mention the public make sure you put a microSD card in the Drone because that's where all the Mission data is stored.

Just got one of these and I'm really glad to see it can do all this stuff! I was hoping I could program it to check the fences on my 10 acre plot, and I think you just taught me how to do that, so thanks! Just gotta re-watch to get the settings set. Thanks for the thorough walkthru!
Also, I had to change the baud rate on Serial1 to 57600 before I could connect with Tower (was 1200; didn't try anything else; lower baud rate may work? Or did I goof something up? Too windy to fly today, so just playing with config for now). The video streaming port is 554 (port scanned it after connecting with Sky Viper Video app), but setting that in the Solo video section in Tower-->Settings menu doesn't appear to get it to work. It has a specific RTSP URL: rtsp://192.168.99.1/media/stream2
I apparently bricked my drone somehow; probably shouldn't mess with baud rate after all...cannot connect with any app now. SVVV just wants to update firmware, then says "The flight controller will automatically reboot. The reboot will take about 15 seconds" but nothing seems to happen...just green ring of waiting waits and waits. The local site on the drone appears to be up, but the settings and telemetry don't come thru. Only status it seems to send is uptime and RAM info. No sensor data.
Tim Bessler yikes... I wonder if there’s a way to manually factory reset... what about loading firmware to Your sd card and booting drone with firmware sd card in. If you figure it out let me know.
I hadn't tried putting an SD card in it yet (might explain why I couldn't save my missions); the battery just ran out while I was trying to troubleshoot (for awhile), and I had just switched it over to connect to my home WiFi as a client/station rather than a server, using telnet to connect to it and try messing with it from there (since the web API is only letting me talk to the video board). I'll post back to see if putting a file called FACRESET.TXT in the root folder of the SD card works like it says on one of the ArduPilot copter documentation pages. What didn't work: *Running NVRAMRESET command via Telnet (on port 2017) *Factory Reset button on the web UI *Trying to update firmware via Sky Viper Video app *Trying to update firmware via the web UI *Power cycling the drone and controller handset
The originall lots drone I tramped around in the dessert a few times, but never found it,,,,, now I'm excited to see what info I can pull out of drone#2,,,, and maybe it will give insight as the where drone#1 ended up. By the way, yes you were the "internet guy" mentioned in the video. I'm going to look at what data I can pull out of logs that were left on the drone. I see a ".bin" file on the external flash,,,, plus I see some message logs within the Tower app itself.
Bad news Scott apparently the Tower app is no longer on Google Store. I have it on my phone but I could not find it when I checked Google store to see if it would work on other phones.
Hey scott, not sure if my comments posted. Yes, Drone#1 I lost it on my 3rd flight,,, it was the first time I decided to fly "high",,,, ie 1000 meters. Previously I had only flown fairly far away but not hight, not over 200 meters. Today (with my new Drone#2) I setup an auto mission,,,,, all within a small park 100 x 100 meters,,,,,, BUT going up to alt 300 meters,,,,, with takeoff, wp2 40 meters, wp3 60 meters,,,, wp4 200 meters, wp5 300 meters,,,,, wp6 300 meters and 2 circles, wp7 300 meters, wp 8 150 meters, wp9 100 meters and wp10 return to launch. BUT i noticed that it seemed to make it to WP4,,,, and then just hang out there for 5 minutes,,,, around the 9 minute mark i heard a message on table battery low, returning home,,,, BUT it actually just came straight down at wp4. Which would be problematic if i was in the mountains again :-D. I'm suspecting that I lost drone 1 in a similar way.
Great video. Changed tower to UDI and viper to SERIAL1_PROTOCOL TO 1. But can not connect Tower app to viper. Question: cell wifi has to be connected to internet or viper signal?
Gone Droneing skyviper has to be connected to device WiFi running tower. So connect to the skyvipers WiFi on the device and Then run tower on the same device.
It works!!! To see the wi-fi signal from Viper the transmitter has to be in GPS Mode (green). Cell screen is too small. Tablet is necessary. If you ever come to Toronto we go on a mission.
Have contracted the company but know response yet about the flyway recovery.can't understand the reason it did what it did.other then that i love the sky viper 2450 gps drone.i see that there is a new version of this drone out.Mabry i will just get it.
I followed the instructions as instructed and i had no problems with the tower app connecting to the Sky viper. But due to weather i haven't been able to do any missions.
Yes it was in full gps mode.when it lost contact with the controller.then it just went on its way.i Finley got it connected back with the controller i could see through the camera that it was on the ground some were.still have not received my drone as of today.i even had my address put in the sky viper app and it still didn't come back to its home base?????.hope you can help me recover my drone

I love this drone.but its not communicating with the return home function on the app.trying to get it figured out.other then that its a nice small drone.just hope my second time flying it will work out a little bit different then my first time.just didn't response to the remote like i thought it should
Great video, I watched the whole thing. Is there any way to set the camera to turn on/off at certain points in the route? Or do you just take off, turn video by clicking the ?record video" button on the controller,,,, AND then do the "mode-photo" to start the missing?

ohhh,,,, and one other question. Regarding the FS THR Enable=2 to disable the safety feature. Does this only disable the return feature during a waypoint flight... OR does it also mean if I'm just flying with manual control and I fly out of range it also won't come back to me? Should I go in and toggle that setting on and off depending on what kind of flight I'm doing,,,,, waypoint, or normal manual flying.
it only effects way point flight and furthermore If you have a solid GPS Green Light Lock before you fly your mission and if the battery gets low on a mission, even if you have FS THR Enable=2 it will abort the mission and fly home. As long as the GPS Lock is on before activating the mission. The only time it wont return to launch when the Green light is on and battery is low is when you are in a different mode like indoor or acro or sport and you press the mode button during a flight . Im not sure why and it doesn't happen all the time but i have seen the drone just land vs RTL while the green light is locked when i pressed the return button. If im flying a long mission, these are the steps I use, 1 I turn on drone and connect to Tower. 2 upload waypoints, 3 download waypoints to confirm. 4 place drone on ground. 5 turn on controller. 6 wait for green light to lock. 7 start flying manualy, 8 actvate auto. 9. wait for the drone to return. Ive never had a problem when ive followed those steps.
Thanks again for video and advice. This was pretty much my first flight. I synced the two videos to have our voices,,, AND I altered between the drone and a "post stabilized drone" track. The flight was 6 minutes. Something interesting, it appeared that the drone records in 24 fps, but saves at 30fps. My second flight was a few days later and was 9 minutes an also successful. AND for the 3rd flight I sent it straight up to 1000 meters,,,,,, and UP it went as smooth and stable as can be,,,,, AND we never saw it again
I've got settings for FENCE,,,, Avoid_enable=0, Fence_action=0, Fence_alt_max=50, Fence_enable=0, Fence_margin=2, Fence_Radius=100, Fence_total=0, Fence_type=0. RTL_climb_min=3000, FS_THR_ENABLE=2 (contine with mission in auto), FS_THR_Value=975....... and I don't think these matter, but Rally_incl_home=1(include home), Rally_limit_km=0.3, Rally_total=0
That would depend on your surroundings. In my town.... there’s no tall buildings.. when I plan a mission I scout out the area first. It’s always better to be safe and set large numbers. You can always change them and re-fly.

I really enjoyed all three videos. How long does your battery last? I have 3 batteries (650 mAh, 850 mAh, 1200 mAh) and none of them really last that long. I got mine for Christmas as well and this is my first drone. You've made a lot more progress than me. Thanks again.
Hi! Thanks for the comment! I have 2 batteries. Both 1200mah. I get about 5-6 mins outdoor in our sub 0 temps.. inside I have flown for 8 or 9 mins. I have ordered 4 more batteries from AliExpress... still waiting for them... so much fun! Stay tune for my next video..
Jim Hatcher in the warmer weather I get between 8 and 9 mins on my batteries outside. I got 5 new batteries from ali express and they work about the same as the originals.
All the connection settings start at the 17:50 minute mark. Make sure you changed SERIAL1_PROTOCOL TO 1 in the skyviper settings. There is a couple of settings that start with SERIAL... so make sure you change the correct one. If those are set right try deleting the tower app and re-install. Or try on a different device. There may be other apps on the app store that may also work. perhaps Tower doesn't like your device..
hi hru I have a question for u I have a sky Viper v2450 gps n am trying to make my my camera live feed from a 5 second delay ? ..so I can do fpv with it ? ..n I know it's wifi to 😢 but still wanted to do fpv with it?
Are you using the FPV in the sky viper app? There’s not a 5 second delay. It’s only a small delay using WiFi. it seems to work fpv just fine. not sure I’m understanding your question.
mike waterman you don’t have to change anything it use fpv. It just works.. I’ve never changed any advanced settings to use fpv. I use Corel video studio to make my videos and there are some stability filters on some of my videos. Also when I play small videos over my videos that look very sharp as well because there smaller. . In full screen the video is the same quality as yours.
so don't mess with the camera settings ..n am using a Venom thousand Mah 25c ..n from fully charged .. till I get GPS lock to fly .. I got 50% left on my battery ? 😢? .. do you have any suggestions on a better battery ?
It’s explains it in detail in the video. There’s a lot in the video. Make sure you don’t skip any parts. It’s best to watch this on from start to finish.
I watched this video 2 or 3 times and gave you a like for it. I must ask you if you really ran the missions you were showing. For the splines, the area of interest and others are not doable with the viper2450gps. You have to change the flight modes and you can do the circle, loiter and there but many of these are not listed under flight modes. I set the spline, circle and area of interest waypoints and my drone only ran 4 waypoints while skipping these. So I went to Flight modes to set these listed way points and they are not there. It may be I need to update my firmware. If so I cannot do it except by mavlink. I have tried with it without results. Skyviper video updated it when I got my drone 2 weeks ago. I tried mission planner, and Qground control to know avail. Do you have any advise? Thanks
Hi, All the videos were remote missions with the Skyviper V2450 GPS, including the point of interests and spline. The only thing did for my youtube video was re-create the small screen shots in tower real quick as I didn't save the paths. The Area of interest works and spline work perfect for me. at least two of the missions in the video fly and do multiple circles. I never had to make any changes to to arducopter settings. (all i did was assigned a auto button) I haven't ran any since the last firmware update (a week or so ago). hopefully everything still works. Once it warms up in my area i plan on making a full screen mission video. So cold in Canada! Thanks for subscribing! This is my first drone. (but i did buy another V2450 and also bought 2 more V2450's for friends.) Stay tuned. :)
Great video. Did you ever figure out how to get video in tower? Also, I'd love a way to mount my tablet to my transmitter...seen any hacks on that? Using a phone for all this is extremely inconvenient

I set the limit to 295 feet or 90 Meters. Even though this drone is less then 250 grams and the Height regulations restriction may not apply to it in Canada, i still choose to stay at or under 295 feet or 90 meters.

nice video . i have a sky viper V2450 GPS, and sometime i will figure this app out , and program some flights in it for photography, and video.

Ya, sometimes mine does weird stuff. I almost always do remote missions where i an watch what is happening.

If you can see the image, use the map on the Skyviper app. it will take you right to it.

Jamie Cramer does the return to Home on the controller work? I’m assuming you wait for a GPS lock (solid green light) before starting your flight.

ok n ty .. n on my camera settings .. I just changed the refresh frame rate and it works good now for fpv .. still Wi-Fi but it ok 😁

n the special features with the I think it's IP code .. iv looked on there didn't mess with anything fo the camera settings ?
mike waterman you don’t have to change anything it use fpv. It just works.. I’ve never changed any advanced settings to use fpv. I use Corel video studio to make my videos and there are some stability filters on some of my videos. Also when I play small videos over my videos that look very sharp as well because there smaller. . In full screen the video is the same quality as yours.
so don't mess with the camera settings ..n am using a Venom thousand Mah 25c ..n from fully charged .. till I get GPS lock to fly .. I got 50% left on my battery ? 😢? .. do you have any suggestions on a better battery ?
How do i connect to it from my drone to Tower app

I watched this video 2 or 3 times and gave you a like for it. I must ask you if you really ran the missions you were showing. For the splines, the area of interest and others are not doable with the viper2450gps. You have to change the flight modes and you can do the circle, loiter and there but many of these are not listed under flight modes. I set the spline, circle and area of interest waypoints and my drone only ran 4 waypoints while skipping these. So I went to Flight modes to set these listed way points and they are not there. It may be I need to update my firmware. If so I cannot do it except by mavlink. I have tried with it without results. Skyviper video updated it when I got my drone 2 weeks ago. I tried mission planner, and Qground control to know avail. Do you have any advise? Thanks
Hi, All the videos were remote missions with the Skyviper V2450 GPS, including the point of interests and spline. The only thing did for my youtube video was re-create the small screen shots in tower real quick as I didn't save the paths. The Area of interest works and spline work perfect for me. at least two of the missions in the video fly and do multiple circles. I never had to make any changes to to arducopter settings. (all i did was assigned a auto button) I haven't ran any since the last firmware update (a week or so ago). hopefully everything still works. Once it warms up in my area i plan on making a full screen mission video. So cold in Canada! Thanks for subscribing! This is my first drone. (but i did buy another V2450 and also bought 2 more V2450's for friends.) Stay tuned. :)

Great video. Did you ever figure out how to get video in tower? Also, I'd love a way to mount my tablet to my transmitter...seen any hacks on that? Using a phone for all this is extremely inconvenient
I haven't gotten the video to work... haven't seen any hacks....... since i have a 10" tablet I don't worry about having it connected to the transmitter. Thanks for the Review!

Cannot get the App to my position
btw how high did you set the altitude at during the first footage?
I set the limit to 295 feet or 90 Meters. Even though this drone is less then 250 grams and the Height regulations restriction may not apply to it in Canada, i still choose to stay at or under 295 feet or 90 meters.
