No need to be nervous, pre-release is a beginner friendly format and most people are happy to help newcomers and new player and players returning after a long break are expected.
Also remember no one has played with these cards before so asking to read a card or have your opponent explain what their card does is completely fine.
You’re going to have a blast! Every pre-release I’ve been to has been fun and the people there are great. My son and I always play in the 2 Headed Giant format (i know most people don’t prefer this method) so we get to play as a team. There are always friendly people who will help you if you need it. Don’t be afraid to ask! I hope you have tons of fun!

I got 1st place out of 76 players this saturday’s prerelease event in a lgs near me in Brazil.
Yours and pleasant kenobi’s videos helped me organize my thoughts and be calm in my assessment.
I may not have gotten the most expensive cards. But i got to build the most fun deck i’ve ever built in a prerelease. The wins were just the cherry on top.

Thank you for this preparation Prof! I went to my first prerelease in many years tonight and with the help of others at the event I managed to go 1-2 in the Swiss rounds and win 3 out of the last 5 games. Best result I ever had! Guess having a 20-some-odd-year break from playing did me good!

Prof thank you!!!!!!!!!! I have gone to like 3 prerelease events, hardly play standard, and I treated myself to a birthday prerelease by myself since I really wasn’t excited for my bday.
Rather than feeling nervous and anxious, I went in feeling really confident and won 2/3! I usually only win 1 and that’s due to a bad hand on my opponent’s part, but not this time! I EVEN PLAYED 4 COLORS 😁😁😁!! Thanks again for all the great tips! They were a big help and even helped make today a lot better! I’ll be sure to watch your next pre lease video!!!!! ❤❤

My friend got me into magic last summer and I am so excited to make this my first prerelease event! I fell in love with the plane while learning all of the lore and was SOOO excited to learn about this drop and even more so when I saw how much love it was getting after being scorned by Spider-Man!

So this is a bit belated, but thanks for the content you make Prof. I hadn't touched Magic in something like ten years but watching one of your Shuffle Up & Play episodes made me want to play again. You got me back into playing paper Magic again to the point I joined my colleges game club in order to do so. And I'm so excited for this set specifically because I'm going to build my very first(non pre-con) commander deck using elementals.
