Thanks Again!!! Развлечения
I literally squealed at work when MR. Skullface said my name!!! I now have made it to the big time boys!! Yayyyyy oh and great review mr skullface
Deluxe Baldwin shut it lol
that door skit was dope :)
;)
last comment said it all.. thank u. I believe in a 80/20 or 75/25 split on bot to alt modes.
but lately eh..
sgisaza I hear you
great review Bobby as always. Im suprised at some of the limited Articulation on this piece. wish I knew what makes toy designers go a certain direction. thank you for all you do
Russ The Muss thank YOU for watching
The wolf mode looks better sitting. Almost what a black lion from Voltron should look. With a little mold modding. Fanstoys can make a very cool Voltron. I just made a yellow lion leg. And flipping the arms back and straightening it out. The arms. Make the black lion bigger and thicker. They got one. The more I play with it the more I like it.
fair enough
The feet not sitting flush are giving you a OCD attack aren't they lol.
ChestfullOsixes guilty lol
You can get the feet to sit flush. I just now figured it out. If you straighten the dog legs applying pressure at the joint near the fulcrum, it will sit flush when you fold it all the way.
everything you said seems just and spot on, especially the gripes. but man I love this figure!
cartertj04 lol he's pretty. For sure
looks good but i think ill skip thanks for the info great review
booksy1a thanks for watching
I'm reminded of Uniquetoys' Terrorcons, but I really can't figure out why.
VRHyoumaru I can see that with the three limbs (excluding blot)
Excellent review. Mine hit today.I agree with you due to the simplicity which I appreciate
( matches MakeToys aesthetics ) its a head scratcher with the ankle / shoulder articulation. For the most part it does accomplish my MP Headmaster requirement. Its like Hollywood casting...........not a Lead actor but a nice Supporting Actor LOL.....the Headmasters are like the Brad Pitt / Michael Keaton's .................I also like the amount of diecast as well.
David Lenshyn agreed
What's sad, is even with it's troubles, I have a feeling this is going to be best representation of Weird Wolf we're going to get. Indeed a weaker effort for FT, but I have to say, I'm all in. Excellent review once again Bobby!
Dolkkar Toyznstuff thanks for watching
Hey Bobby, thanks for another great Review - he does look amazing in both modes but the headmaster gimick is definitely done better by Maketoys at the moment
Ps - the wolf foot does fold flat for his robot-mode feet - there's actually another hinge joint in there for wolf mode that's a bit stiff but if you work at it it goes completely flat hiding all of the green
Drenore hmm I'll have to try that
before i even watch this you know ive got my fine toothed comb ready...
gregformercy LOL
Lupus 2.0...
one day.
didnt expect to like this as much as I do.
cant wait for sovereign!
colin james davison enjoy!
The retail version you have appeals to me more than the test shot that Ben's Collectables reviewed. It does look good, very striking, the yellow also looks better here. I still think FT bots are too expensive though, especially for the simple issues you've mentioned that they could have easily fixed. Thanks for the review!
gumperP thanks for watching. I generally think they're pieces are extremely fairly priced. But only when they work the way they're intended. Unlike this one
They probably are fairly priced, but I need the Dinobots and the prices scare me haha.
Mine arrives in the next hour and i'll be going straight to the cockpit I think. not used to that kind of mistake from FT. It does look good but there's a lot riding on whether i get in on their decepitcon headmasters or just wait on MT finishing theirs off. Paint is steller tho, and their Galvatron is looking similarly finished. Great job man.
astartespete 100% agree
Just got mine, the cockpit definitely clicks up at the very top and holds fine on my copy, takes a bit of effort to dislodge it too. Its a soft click but there. If yours isn't I'd look at exchanging it maybe.
Remember when Tesla/Perceptor came out? It just did not feel like Fans toys. I feel exactly the same about this figure. It feels like they subcontracted this figure. I got mine Saturday and comparing him to some of my other Fans toys figures. Lupus is rather lack luster.
Otto Tarnowske I prefer preceptor because at least he's efficient. This one was a real surprising disappointment
Dnt mean to bug but am I missing something with Weirdwolf's feet I cannot get the green sole if you will to be flush with the yellow boot. Is that just how it is?
David Lenshyn it was one of my complaints
I know ...... I always watch from start to finish I just wanted to confirm with you the green feet do not somehow recess further it was difficult to tell by the video........thank you fellow collector.........David Blaine it is!
David Lenshyn Na truthfully I haven't picked him back up again. Someone in the comments mentioned a tight hinge that you can manipulate to flatten it more. But truthfully I couldn't be bothered. It's too soon, me and lupus need some time apart lol
Fucken eh! I need a break from this relationship as well. I'll have a beer with Weirdwolf this evening but I'm not buying dinner LOL!
So with Fanstoys announcing the other two Headmaster bots, does that change your opinion on this piece?
why would it?
Well hasn't maketoy's announced that they're doing all the decepticon headmasters? I personally dont like breaking "sets" so I would get all 3 Maketoys or all 3 Fanstoys to keep a set. That makes sense right? I'm not totally crazy right?
Sucks that you had a bum cockpit... i just got mine tonight. Cockpit is tight, but doesn't click. the biggest bummer for me is the wolf head not sitting flush in the back. and you were right with the feet, can't get them to fit flush. so odd.
good one glad to hear you got a better cockpit
Great review and I do really like the look of this figure. Here's the million dollar question. Of you could only have one third party Weird Wolf which one would you get and why?
Toy Man 1976 well this is the only 3p mp one so this one wins for me. But only by default.
You don't have the cockpit all the way up. It locks fine. You just have to click it up farther.
incorrect
Okay. On the video it looked very clear to me that there was a gap/space for you to move it up farther.
With mine it stays up nicely if I'm sure to put it up all the way.
It does have what feels like a natural stopping point which is just shy of its actual limit, and leaves the exact amount of space I saw on your video. I have to give it a firm extra extra push past "natural" stopping point and then the gap is filled and it doesn't drop down as easily as yours.
But maybe I'm not seeing what I think I'm seeing in your video, and maybe I got lucky with the tightness on mine.
Keep up the good videos. I especially like the discussions and sit down Saturdays.
Okay. I re-watched the video. You do get it all the way up in some moments and not others.
My mistake.
Guess I got lucky with mine.
This seems a very half arsed effort from fans toys. It's simplicity, you would think would lend itself to action figure level of articulation! But If anything it's more limited than your average transformers articulation.
I'm not too fused on headmaster in general really, the only headmaster I have any attachment to is mindwipe.
Do we have a full fans toys week ahead of us my good man?
Cliff Jacker no sir. But lots of interesting stuff
I got the Hasbro Titans Return Weirdwolf/Wolfwire figure, & looking at this, looks like something that is worth getting (at some point). Pretty cool in the books.
G1 Smokescreen thanks for watching
No problem.
G1 Smokescreen lol whewww wht a relief. for a second I thought you were gonna talk about how you got the Hasbro wolfwire and how it was better than this, and how it'd be your stand in weirdwolf until Takara eventually(NEVER) makes one. I hate "fans" who do tht lol
rant over.
Yeah, I wasn't going on about the Hasbro one, never did in my comment, was just going on about Lupus, apparently, that is IF FansToys fixes the problems before the REAL official release. Lol
Weirdwolf....Strange Coyote....we see what you did there....
;)
This feels like a rushed effort to me, lacks the polish Fans Toys are known for. I saw a lot of test shot reviews and expected all those issues to be fixed before the release, instead none of them are, which makes me wonder why they bothered with sending out test shots at all. The saddest part is ALL of those things are simple simple fixes, a small detent and grove to lock the cockpit in place at the top would be SO easy to have done. Add a little extension to the waist pieces that don't tab in in wolf mode. Add a small pie shaped piece to the shoulders to ge them to 90 degrees straight out! A LOT of figures have that. Add a hinge to the ball joints in the feet for that rocker. These are small changes I would have gladly waited another month or whatever for, to have a fully finished figure.
Travis Sallenbach agreed
A couple of issues relating the articulation that with such a simple transformation could be easily solved, the wolf head should be better hidden and the cockpit not locking is very bad. Sculpt and paint wise is very good both in bot and wolf mode so I like it. Thanks for the review Bobby.
looks great but unfortunately I'll wait for Maketoys to release their Weirdwolf later on. Great review as always, 💀 Face. Thanks.
botG1head thanks for watching
Is this a test shot or not really?
Intimidator nope. Final retail
I ordered my copy from the Chosen Prime and requested that someone would check the stability of the cockpit before shipping. I hope that happens, but I won't be mad if they don't.
Jason Reyes good luck
FT managed to hide Stomp's dino head, but couldn't hide this wolf head?
eyescovered that's what I said :)
Lupus has me feeling all fickity
oneeyexl hahahahaha
Got mine from Hung this weekend, and my slider is really good. Frustrating to see that yours doesn't work right. You are on the money about the shoulders - and funny enough the headmaster, Monzo's shoulders have funky articulation as well. And I got a tell ya for a robot that is supposed to be a sword weirder, I really want more articulation in the wrist so I can angle the sword towards an opponent. Missed opportunity.
Thirty agreed. I got mine from hung as well
How hung is he ? Lulz ;)
Cockpit controls looks like a NES controller.
eyescovered lol
No deal breaker on the feet for me but it's certainly not exciting either. I like he wolf mode and hope my sliding bits aren't shit lol. Hopefully the next headmasters improve
Krommdor fingers crossed
Im really bothered by that sliding piece. Hopefully there will be a fix from them in the future. Like they did with the Snarl hole. The other thing im a bit bothered is the size of these things. I kinda think they should be A tad smaller. Or is this just me.
THEWATCHERISLOOKING they're sunbow accurate but I don't think many of us ever saw them as being that big
+Bobby “Skullface” Skullface L True that. How the heck did these 2 get by Fanstoys and still no Grinder. There still a hole in shelf that needs to be filled. Im eagerly waiting for your take on this.
Bummer your cockpit doesn't click into place and hold as it should. Someone is getting a lashing in the QC dept. at FT as we speak...unacceptable!
Frank Harvey I didn't notice a sticker on mine either. Coincidence? Hmmmm lol
I only skimmed the comments, but I didn't see this mentioned in them (again sorry if I missed it). The wolf head has two rotation points so that you can get the neck to look in any direction. Down like you had it in the video, up like it's howling, side-to-side, or even at an angle in between, like looking down at the headmaster off to the side slightly. That is one of the things I particularly like about wolf mode.
Cameron Moriarty thanks for the info
This seems a little sloppy from FansToys :( I like the general look of the figure and think it's really close. Do you think they may of rushed this to get it out before Sovereign and Grinder to get some money in before the other two figures?
Sam Thompson no clue man
Would you be interested in reviewing the Titans Return Weirdwolf? Surprisingly enough, that figure has better ankle rockers and a cleaner back than FT's.
ReynAnimations if somebody brought it by I would
I can get one shipped to you if anything.
If you turn the shoulders to how they would be in robot mode it makes sliding the cockpit up far easier when transforming :)
Chris Keeney cool. Any tricks to keep the canopy up?
Mine actually has the opposite problem and its really stiff to slide and is hard to move once in place. But I imagine a little Future shine polish on the sliding mechanism may help it hold into place if you don't plan to keep transforming him multiple times
No confused puppy dog articulation?????????????????
dezefticon lol
So it's not worth $450!?
I wish that more companies would use a locking mechanism similar to MP10's legs for sliding pieces
burmatrash I hear you there
Good stuff, thanks for the review. It's a shame to fall short on so many aspects for a company that has been pumping out pretty great figures...oh well easy pass.
Tygr Trax exactly
it's unfortunate they didn't make the cockpit tighter (so to speak). Some of the other retail version notes in the forums say theirs aren't too bad, so maybe individual results will vary. However, disappointing from FT of all people, seems like their first figure to be a surprise announcement and quick release is also the least developed :/
Chris Hughes exactly
Dare I say maybe FT rushed this? The non locking cockpit and making no effort to hide the face on the HM isn't what I'd normally expect from them.
Mr Nobody if they did rush I have no idea why they'd feel compelled to do so
The feet not sitting flush bothers me a little but I can deal. If that damn cockpit can't stay up , that will drive me crazy. This is the first I heard of it so hopefully its not wide spread.
Justin Linett I'm a bad luck kinda guy so that would make sense lol
Hopefully you can get it replaced
Meh. Maketoys lets see what you got.
John Lant yep
Seems like the development might have been rushed. As bad as the articulation is, I can live with it bc I think both bot & wolf modes look exceptional. Unfinished or poorly engineered bits like the sliding chest mechanism & the flaps that should have, but can't, peg into the wolfs waist give FT a black eye. FT has some exciting stuff coming down the pike & I hope the lapses with this guy aren't a sign of things to come. Here's to hoping for some replacement bits in future releases to address these issues.
Chad Webb totally agree
Someone needs to use the engineering of Wolf Wire, obviously with that Masterpiece touch.
Bobby, was this a Pre-Production/Test Sample or a Final Version in a box?
Nathan Simmons final retail version.
Bobby Skullface L that's crazy that your retail copy cockpit area collapses like that. Mine stays just fine. I would ask for another copy if possible
Man that sliding mechanism is a massive bummer. I've been on the fence with this guy because I don't have a real attachment to the character. He looks amazing in both modes and all but one of his issues don't bug me, but that sliding mechanism is a huge fault. I'd want him in wolf mode a lot because it looks so good, and that collapsing thing is just awful.
Eyedyeoff10 definitely a bummer
Eh... this figure reminds me of how basic Fans Toys can be.
Grrr, sliding mechanisms. Disappointing. Good review.
MultiJamesman many thanks
Kinda feel like they took a step backward with this. Confucius would be sad.....
PowerJuiceIam agreed this doesn't seem up to standards previously established
I think this things main problem is that its not a good toy, or a bad toy. Its just overwhelmingly average. And to put it simply, that's not how Fanstoys rolls. They're the ones that go the extra mile to produce a top notch product, this guy feels like they rushed it to compete with a potential Maketoys version, and unless Maketoys botches their version completely, I'm pretty sure this version is going to get forgotten. Hugely disappointing from Fanstoys.
Coboxite extremely well put
Lot of strange and outright poor design choices on this one, looks like they rushed it to compete with the Maketoys headmasters.
draconious380 agreed. Except that maketoys still seems like they're a bit away from getting to the cons. I think ft had the time and should have taken it.
Yeah I think they jumped on the cons specifically because Maketoys is focusing on the Autobots. That way they can cut into the headmaster market without doing direct competition with Maketoys
This guy feels unfnished for me. Material wise he is heftg and good though...but surely the least impressive of all FT releases.
agreed
Gotta be honest, this does not look good at all with the other figures you show it with. Sure it is the same size but the terrible square boringness of this thing just screams at you so loud there. This is a disappointing boring figure all around.
Spencer Wilson I actually like the way he presents but he has to just stand there and look pretty because the shoulders and ankles prevent him from doing much f anything else
