Thank you for your videos Martyn!!! It’s been an absolute delight to follow your spinning progress. From your audacious beginnings, bumps along the way and your wonderful final plied yarn. We have all been part of your learning journey and it’s been amazing! You are by far, my favourite you tuber! And also enabler 😂. I may have to get me one of those e spinners too 😂
Hi Martyn, Well done on your spinning progress. You've done amazing coming from head in hands, I can't do this to being consistent Aran weight. That blue from the Ella Fitzgerald dress! Great taste in music. Enjoy your weekend. xxJane 🐑🌼
Those batts and yarns are absolutely gorgeous! I hope that in the future you’ll keep regaling us with spinning content whenever you can. And not to mention knitting content featuring that handspun yarn
I've loved watching you learning to spin and when you had your ah ha moment it was brilliant. Brought it back to me when i got my ah ha moment when I was learning. Kind of makes me wish I had filmed my progress.
I have loved watching this Spinuary series and you have done so brilliantly! I made a blanket with my first efforts as I think it’s really important to keep the early stuff to look back on! I love that fibre and I have joined yarntings fibre club ♥️
Thank you for showing us your spinning progress, the yarn tings batts are beautiful, and it's so inspiring to see your enthusiasm and spinning wins 👍😊❤️
I'm loving your spinning journey Martyn thank you for sharing it with us . Songs in the Key of Live by Stevie Wonder was released in 1976 or thereabouts ..I'm a massive fan of his and that batt was spot on for the album cover!
What beautiful spinning! You should be so delighted with what you've accomplished. I'm loving this series/topic. I wish there were more spinning content on podcasts in general.
Martyn, thank you for sharing your beautiful fibre batts and your spinning progress, for the ends of my skeins if they don't meet up I just do a double half hitch around the skein, for twisting your skeins I have seen someone using a dough hook on her mixer flexed up in the air instead of in the bowl (if memory serves me correctly it was Ellie from Elderflower Stitches in one of her latest vlogs) and with all your mini skeins you may be able to make yourself and Mark a Watchcap by Purl Soho or another hat pattern you have or Mark likes👍
Hi, I was told that you need to keep your early efforts as you’ll never be able to replicate their texture as it gets thinner as you put the time in. I listened and crocheted them into a flat panel which I covered a plastic container with which I use to hold knitting needles in. It looks great. Jen x
You have totally inspired me Martin! ❤ I’ve just fished out the drop spindle I bought last year, have signed up to craftsy (thanks for the offer link), and am getting ready to attempt some spinning! I’m totally expecting to have bought myself an e-spinner before the weekend is out 😂😂
This episode Martin was superb. I agree the color matches to all of the songs was spot on! You have got to listen to the Stevie Wonder album. It’s not a new one very old, but the songs are wonderful.
Maybe not your taste but if your minis are Aran weight you could use them in an Icelandic colourwork sweater designed for Lopi yarns, like the Riddari. Wonderdul progress!
While I can certainly appreciate your desire to share the wealth, sort of speak, by telling folks about Craftsy I hope this won’t be a continued theme. I really enjoy watching your channel because it has no sponsorship and is entirely what you make it. I’ve watched several other people’s knitting videos go right down the toilet because they decided to use sponsorship with every video and people quit watching and the videos have ceased to exist. You have such a great following without “ads” I hope you’ll at least consider continuing without consistent sponsorship. Your spinning is for sure getting better. What I’m wondering is how you are spinning so much wool in such a short period of time. I started my spinning journey roughly the same time you did and got my e spinner about 4 months before you and it took me the entire month of January to spin one braid of wool. I worked at it literally every day for 1-4 hours each day and it took me 28 days to complete it. I finished plying a fingering to sport weight 2 ply yarn. I guess I must just be much slower than you although I realize it’s not a competition. Your art bats of wool are lovely. Keep up the good work. Believe it or not it is nice to know I’m not the only one struggling with wanting more crafting time vs necessary work time. I think there are lots of us in the same situation but it’s nice to be reassured we aren’t alone.😜👍🧶
Hey! Rest assured the ethos of the channel won’t change, this was a great opportunity to be able to share an offer with you all for something I’d personally benefitted from on my spinning journey. It’s absolutely not going to be a regular feature it’s important to me to only share products or services that I love/found useful. As to time for spinning, I did most of that video Friday and Sunday and it took about an hour to spin 30g of fibre, then 30 minutes to ply. Rough maths but we had a very lazy Sunday! Thanks so much for commenting :)

Wow...these are so beautiful 😍 The dyer really matched the inspiration pictures, and the yarns you have created are lovely.
22:08 Oh my goodness, what a progress.
You have made tremendous progress.
Congratulations

Well done, so much improvement just in a month!❤

Wow ! You improved so much ! I wonder if you will now prefer spinning over crochet and knitting. Mark must think he will never get his sweater ...
Lol😅😂😂😊😊😊
How fun! They all look gorgeous!
Called it in week 2, you’re totally going to get there for an MKAL. Oct is SO far away 😂 Even if it’s not the whole thing could be a featured section.
