- We're sitting two days away from the NFL Draft, and Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have had no movement on extending his contract past the final year of his current deal. It's pretty obvious the Cowboys are moving on from Dak Picksixcott. I wish him well. I hope we are embarking on a major reset.

What is obvious is Dallas is not going to finalize his deal until A: The Draft is over, and B: They have pulled in some free agents. At that time they know what their money is and then they will work the deal with Dak.

The salary does go up but so does all 53 players salary. Pretty sure their contract is designed to start low and go up each year because the cap goes up so you really don't gain any cap space.

@@terrenceliburd8655 many consider Burrow the 2nd best QB in the NFL. He lead the lowly Bengals to a Super Bowl. Him and Herbert are on their 2nd contract while Dak is trying to get his 3rd contract.
Only concern would be extending him, change sooner the better

@chuck7072: Tony Romo had Julius Jones, Marion Barber, Felix Jones, Tashard Choice, Demarco Murray. Demarco Murray being the most sucessful of the RB's. Defensively Romo didnt have the studs needed to win.

Well Dak, you never played to your paper on your current contract. I can’t imagine that you are going to get better with more money. I am, however, absolutely certain that the more money they give you, the less they have to spend improving the rest of the team.
@scottym.9077: Ok Cowboy fans have been killing Jerry and Stephen about not signing FA. Because of Daks contract taking up to 16% of the salary cap. That's relatively mid. How does the salary cap work? And after hearing these gentleman arguments I don't understand why they won't improve the team thru free agency.

Does anyone believe that in a world where Dak plays out his deal & there’s no question in Dallas’ mind that they want him back, that they’ll put up the best offer for him? He’d have to REALLY not want to be there to go elsewhere. If he even goes to an NFC Championship it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t want to come back to that TEAM.
