    Aside from making instructions for just custom minifigure-scale models, I think it would be amazing if you guys made instructions for accurate set modifications. For us huge LEGO fans and collectors that don’t have all of the money to buy your in credible (but very expensive) builds, I think it would be great for us if you made more accurate modifications for sets that are already available but made them more displayable than just regular playsets, whilst still being the size of one. :)

      Designing sets like this need so much time and effort. Official razor crest is so ugly, over 100? I really don't understand why many people aren't willing to give some money to independent people like this channel but it's OK to pay thousands to Official Lego even for ugly sets with high value per piece. Everybody wants to be entrepreneur but don't support the little ones that are making best things than the big companies.

      @@alonzoharris7836 I did. Turns out LEGO isn’t a bad company, they try to reduce damage to the environment as much as possible by creating some bricks out of plastic, and in the near future they are going to use paper bags instead of plastic bags in sets, and the Minifigure Series are going to be in cardboard boxes. They treat their workers well, have decent customer service and offer good prices for quality bricks. Though some of their products’ overall appearance may be lacking (such as the Razor Crest), it doesn’t mean that the whole company is bad. They are actually one of the most environmentally friendly of all toy manufacturers. And most of that’s just general knowledge. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      i feel like there are both pros and cons with the offical ucs compared to this version. 1 pro is that jerec's has proper landing gear. But lego has a pro with more interior space, as their cockpit for the ucs, is six studs wide compared to jerrecs version, which uses the 4 studs wide version from the playset.

    • @mervatmekhael7605
      @mervatmekhael7605 2 года назад +7

      I’d have to disagree. The proportions on the UCS are better in many areas and I feel like the cockpit is small on this build. There are a lot of details present on the UCS, not to mention the interior.

    • @davidsimmons6812
      @davidsimmons6812 2 года назад +1

      Yep, I'm sold on this version as well. While it's true that the UCS version has greater and more accessible interior space, that's not nearly as important to me as the much more studless appearance, the retractable landing gear and the greatly increased structural integrity. I also LOVE that there are far fewer gaps in this version, which is damned impressive given the angles and curves. The UCS version is basically a playset, but I'm not interested in that as much as I am in a version that hews the closest to the actual model. There's the fact that you can get a custom light set!

You will likely be spending more than 600 dollars on the moc, so why not just buy the set, with the exclusive figures, and the easy to access interior? The lack of interior access is arguably the biggest flaw of the moc. And the lego set separates into sections, unlike the moc. I could keep going.

    I'm a bit more than a quarter, nearly a third of the way through building this. It's been a really fun experience so far. Some really clever build techniques. Definitely some techniques that wouldn't be approved by Lego, which is why, for those who asked, Lego would never officially release a design like this. Even in the portion that I've built so far, it is already a solid build. I can imagine that it will be every bit as solid as they mention in this review.
    I've been slowly sourcing the pieces through different vendors on Bricklink over the past year to disperse the cost. And through vendor discounts, low cost international vendors, and cannibalized pieces from my own old disassembled sets I've brought everything in just a bit more than the cost of the UCS set. However, I can see this costing considerably more if doing a one-off bulk order.
    Just a warning for anyone attempting to build this. The canopy piece is pretty pricey. You can find it relatively cheap ($15) through some international vendors. For whatever reason, it comes up pretty expensive through US vendors. Anywhere from $30-$100 for that piece alone. Might even be worth buying the official 75292 set (the play scale set/not the UCS set) to get that canopy piece, the minifigs and some pieces that actually can be used in Jerac's build. When you get his instructions, there is a parts list for pieces that can be recycled from the 75292 set if you have it. It is only a small percentage of pieces though.
    For anyone reading this and interested, I'll post a reply here to follow up on my experience when I get close and eventually complete the build. This video has been an inspiration for me to drive forward in collecting the pieces and finally building this amazing model. I've watched it so many times. It gets me excited every time.

    • @mrsjr78
      @mrsjr78 Год назад +2

      Finally finished the build! It is even more stunning in person than it already is in this video. I'm very happy with how it turned out. There were a few complicated parts of the build. Particularly the angled panels on the top of the main part of the body on either side of the cockpit and the forward angled parts of the engine "wings". In the instructions he mentions not to try to align them at the onset of placing them because when other parts of the build go in place, they'll properly align. And as you went further and further along, they started aligning properly. It was frustrating not to want to get ahead of myself, but amazingly, close to the end of the build, when the mounted guns went on, that basically tightened everything and it all pretty much lined up perfectly. The interior is very tight. Nothing like the official UCS set, but that's not what I'm really interested in. It's serviceable for what it is, and I feel that conceding some interior space for a more accurate minifig scale and overall proportions compared to the UCS set is well justified. The additional side access doors help, but on mine they are pretty tight to open and close, so I try to avoid utilizing them too much. Again, some techniques were very tricky. There were some moments where you had to loosen some already built areas a few hundred steps back to squeeze in the next module. This is something official Lego would never do, but that is how such a tight build is created. There were really no other ways to pull off some of the tight fits, otherwise. Ultimately, I marveled at how Jerac was able to pull off this incredibly intricate model. It's as much artistry as it is engineering. I had a blast building it. If you have the patience to source all the pieces and build it, it will be so worthwhile. It looks amazing next to the UCS Falcon and UCS Slave I. It's the second of Jerac's designs that I have built. The first being his V1 Red 5 X-Wing. These are all minifig scale, so along with those UCS sets, they look amazing all next to each other.

    Thanks B.V. This is my LEGO Holy Grail. Spectacular moc. Just found out Lucas films just got Razor Crest copyright back. I’m hoping season 3 some one tells Din to check out a spaceship bone yard for a surprise. # Return of the Razor Crest.🤠

      I applied a long time ago and got all the way to the final interview on site. But I was a dick to them, unknowingly. Which made me a persona non grata there, at least in the view of some important people.
      When someone tells you to try, you are not going to be any more prepared... kick him in the butt, I tried too early and ill-prepared and ruined the only shot I had in this in my life.

      As a builder of this I can tell you the most important traits are stubbornness, patience and being able to get through annoying/difficult areas. You sit every day on the Problem Of The week, sometimes stuck for days or weeks. This gets annoying pretty quickly. But the shot of pure joy you have when you finally figure it out is great!

    • @jarosawksiazczyk3082
      @jarosawksiazczyk3082 4 года назад

      It is big enough!
      I used mando's height by the doors as main reference and cockpit came out to be almost perfectly 6-wide.
      Blame minifigs' excess width for cramped interior! :D
