I was kind of half way expecting a Cross video this week, lol! I’m having a hard time getting out in this heat but probably going to go fish Red River riprap soon. I lost count of your pond fish. Never disappoints!
I have been down to Pine Island 3 times in the past month or so and it has been slow for sure. I went West of the 43 bridge about a mile and fished a pocket up that way and nothing - Good Luck
They weren't hitting in the Cypress Trees, but like the coal miners used to say, "Number 2 mine will work", and the pond came through with some biters.
Well shoot, your pond was way more productive. According to Google, Caddo Lake is less than 3 hours away. Thats definitely close enough to put on the to do list. I'll wait until the bite picks up tho or I may have to stop by your pond on the way home LOL
Yeah, Caddo is a very big lake, I am guessing that 3 hours would be the Oil City area of Caddo. Which is a long way from the river but still a great place to fish-
You get ready to meet up somewhere - hit me up- it's easy to load up that pirogue and head north - not a fan of pulling the boat down I-20 but I can hit I-49 north to caddo lake - if you watch one of my old videos at shady rest - that's in Oil City - good fishing up there too
I've had plenty of days like that where they wouldn't bite at the lake but they will bite at the pond. Good to have a pond to fall back to when you need to catch a few. I've got some questions about your boat. I can't remember what kind of tracker you have but I may have found a steal on one and I want to see what you think about it.
@@bigmouthbrice Sounds good, mine is a 22 model and I paid around that same price. Trolling motor stinks on these boats, you will want to upgrade that for sure and the storage lids leak - all of them leak, no dry storage in the boat, so if you are going to keep it uncovered make sure you have some water proof containers inside the boxes. Other than that its a decent boat,
Wow you really got a good deal on yours. I'm gonna be thinking about it I'm looking to get rid of my jon boat with that tiller motor for something with electric start to make things easier. Been having some back issues lately so trying to make things a little better for me. How does yours handle on the big water? Have you had it in decent sized waves?
@@bigmouthbrice I have been in some fairly rough water but I avoid it as much as possible. Keep in mind, these boats aren't much more that a 17' jon boat with a console and some decking. They do ok, but they are light boats and in rough water its a rough ride. I like the boat, but I don't want you to think you are getting more than what it is - if you want a boat that will handle rough water, your gonna want a bigger heavier boat.
Man I’ve had a hard time on caddo this summer; I usually don’t venture too far into the Texas side other than areas I’m familiar with like around big green break, tuckers, etc. I’ve always wondered what it’s like way up cypress bayou though
You can usually catch some nice fish in and around Pine Island, but it has been slow this summer.. To much rain followed by extreme heat has them slow on the bite- I have heard Jeems Bayou is doing ok up around Oil City.
From a slow day to a very productive session in your own backyard, hard to beat that. Stay cool and "Keep Fishing" James!
Thanks Larry - it has been slow on caddo, makes that pond fishing much more enjoyable.
Still beautiful being out there and you caught some fish! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Thanks Mark
Oh no….i have a hat coming too. When all else fails, hit the back pond 😉Looked like a productive outing. Got a decent one in the mix too!
@@bogolyskeepingitreel you may like the hat? Just not the style I wear but a decent looking hat- the pond is doing well but not much luck on the lake
Beautiful area!
Yes sir, Caddo is a great place to fish even if you don't catch any - still good to be out there
Nice video James! Keep gettin after em buddy! Hope you have a great weekend!
@@davidwilliams1805 thanks David, I will give it another shot this weekend
Great bite at the pond James!
Lively little bass wouldn't let you unhook them. 🤣
Caddo lake looks like it would be good for crappie.
I have never tried crappie out there, may give it a shot this year. Thanks for the visit
Nice👍
Thanks ✌
On them again James
Thanks
Sweeet😊
@@Lowballinoutdoorz thanks Alex - wish I had some creeks around here like the ones I see you fishing

The one I have is a Pro170, ask away. It is a decent little boat, but it has its flaws
The one I found on Facebook is a 2018 pro 170 and they want 10k. It's garage kept with low hours. That sound like a pretty good deal?

Can I fish the creek I live 10min away
Sure you can, I have fished there since i was a kid

Heck yea- they may be small but at least they bite lol
You don't need to go to the lake. That pond produces allot of action. And in that Kayak, look at all the gas your saving. (LOL)
