English language has many strange quirks based on context that the word is used. Darkness can be also used to mean "Evil" like "A darkness of the soul".
@jpala821 I'm nitpicking, but "Slaves of Darkness" means something slightly different than "Slaves to Darkness". The first one seems to mean that they simply came from the "darkness", you know, like daemons. The second one, the official name means, more accurately, that these folks were once free but later enslaved "to darkness", see. This adds an extra layer of grimdark to the whole phrase.
Yeah contrast plus highlight is insane, for certain things. I've been doing some orks and word bearers, but the coolest thing is with the ork flesh you can super easily get another skin tone with the ork flesh, I just recomend putting it on little by little cause it gets darker when it pools, but that's also a good way to make orks have a darker skin tone if you carefully do the opposite, and then highlight with the same to you would use for waaagggh flesh normal

Never seen anyone highlight like you using different colours on different colours. Was amazing to watch and will likely change the way I paint. Thank you!!

Liked the approach to use any color. I think there is an idea that there are "correct" colors when it comes to the hobby and art in general, but this video reminds me that we can use color however we want.
I'm about to paint that very model, I know 300 Japanese words so I'm able to understand a little , I'm surprised so see Japanese ' female at that ' painting warhammer . I think it's a wonderful think , I'm going to use different colours but follow this step by step
Hi Looks really great!!! In the beginning I was not sure with the colours you used bit it al tied up nicely together. Perhalps a tip: When applying the snow (and other texture paints) the 'Texture spreader' is a great tool. It is a plastic spatula which makes adding snow to the base really easy. You user a sculpting tool but that is metal and not so flexibel.
I know very little Japanese. I forgot almost everything I learned. I do enjoy the video. Nice music with the showing how contrast paing can show up on larger minis. Watshi was diski desu, that you used differnt techniques with the contrast paint.

Beautiful results. A lot of colors it is better than the black&white schema from GW. I learned something by watching this. Tips with hoeth blue, the apothecary white and the red armor/black star both highlighted with yellow.

Ikr? I have seen a lot and they at best build the model. Most of the times they take 20-30 minutes just to open the box and show what's inside
