Best Place in the World To Wakeboard | My Favourite Location!

- My home stomping ground in Cavan Ireland. This is where I've learnt about 80% of the tricks I can do! I started skiing here at 5 years old and then took to wakeboarding at 10 years old. Fast forward over 15 years and it's still my favourite place to ride.
The wake is small, however when the sun is out, and the water is flat, I can't think of a better place to strap on a board and go for a shred.
I try see how many tricks I can get on the small wake including a tantrum to blind, whirly, tootsie, skeezer and even a slim chance!
Thanks so much for watching.

Insane what you can do on such a small wake!!
Amazing riding David behind such small wake, you would win John’s small wake contest for sure !
What an inspiration for all of us who ride small wakes all the time.
Great to see those smiles on faces, and what a beautiful place to ride.
However do you have more boat riding videos coming up from your trip in the US ?
That lake is pristine, beautiful day out!
When it's good - it's very good! Cheers Eric
great skills!
Thank you 😁
Love your videos David, im trying to learn wake to wake jumps but just can't build the confidence to go for. If you and the lads ever come to Scotland and fancy getting out on the water give us a shout. I would be happy to accommodate you for some free pointers 😂. Keep up the good work 👏
Ahh thanks for the invite Brian - I'll let you know if we're ever over there.
For the wake to wakes, I often think 'one day I'll try this, so it might as well be now'.
Trying something new is the worst, but it's also only the first one that's so tough and as long as your basics are there, you got it!
Another tip if you haven't seen/heard of it before, is to shorten your rope by 5-10 feet. It makes the week narrower and so it's easier to cross the wakes.
@David OC thanks David, I've shortened the rope down to 65ft and can get halfway across and land it every time, so I think I just need to man up and go for it. I will be out all weekend, so fingers crossed the weather plays ball 🤞. We are on Lochearn and spend most weekends there, so if you are ever over, get in touch 👍
Ohh you can deffo go shorter. Try 55ft!! You got it!
Beautiful camera work.
Thank you but all credit given to Louis!
Hi, David! Good video. What the bord was you using? It is very short, and have interesting rokers.
Hey, it's the O'Brien Valhalla (my favourite board ever). It's a 138 (which is about right for my height 5ft10 and my weight 80kg).You would choose to ride a slightly bigger board on the boat, but not much more.
Come to Cyprus!!!!!
It's on my bucket list - it looks amazing!
how fast are you sailing? we don't know the perfect speed

Thanks Julien. Ahh it's so good to be back out.
Yes, the small boats are very relatable for so many people which is awesome, and small wakes is what I grew up riding.
I wish I had more videos from my US trip, but as I was there for the 2024 and 2025 O'Brien shoot, most of the products are under embargo so I can't show any footage
@@DavidOCaoimhWakeboarder great, I’ll go to Sidewake end of October/ November, it’d be great to see you there !
