    Greetings from the 🇬🇧- here gas (we call it petrol) is the equivalent of about $8 a gallon - yes expensive, to fill my previous car, a Mercedes C200 station wagon was about $90. This makes an EV even more economic sense. I went for a BMW i3, in Europe the i3 is about $10,000 cheaper than a M3. No plans to go back to a combustion car.

    Thanks for this "objective" review & the detailed cost analysis after 50K miles. Ca registration & tire replacement around 20K to 25K miles should be the most of the expenses, barring any other expenses. As you stated, out of warranty Tesla repairs can be very costly.

    But the super low cost to run, super low maintenance, great technology, software updates, etc. Awesome vehicle. Wish the window tint was legal here in NY. Our registration though is every two years and is like $80 though

I too had issues with my 2023 RWD Model 3 - unacceptable. People should stop putting up with the crap so Tesla can really take accountability for it and improve it. 4:30 EV's are actually about ~400% (4x) efficient over ICE's. Simple math. ~25mpg car vs ~100mpge EV. Tesla rates their mpge at ~120-140, but we will be generous, and assume you do a lot of freeway driving, and have a heavy foot.

      With environmental impact of producing the battery which is HUGE and the conventional power production used to make electricity the environmental impact of electric cars is worse then a conventional 4 cylinder car. Not as bad as a diesel of course. I own two bolts but just trying to be real.

    • @DaveDuzzit
      @DaveDuzzit 2 года назад

      @@shanewilfon6860 HUGE = 2x the carbon over ICE production?
      You'd overlook the inevitable end of oil spills, drilling, fracking, ground water contamination, air pollution, and more just because the transition to renewable isn't fully over the hump yet?
      We're all paying a cost right now to fix a legacy of of airborne carcinogens. We ran leaded fuel for 70+ years even though they knew ethanol was a solution in the early 1900's.
      It takes over 1kWh to produce 1gal of gas just at the refinery, just think about how much energy it takes from drilling, to refining, and transit to the station, just to get 1gal of gas in a car, only to waste 66% of the energy as heat.
      I know the math is complex and confusing to include all the variables in the oil/electric debate, but rest assured you're doing the environment a favor by owning two Bolts.
