Copper is a preferred wiring for the our home over aluminium because it is of use and ability to effectively conduct electricity it is more stable durable performs better than aluminium wires . Cooper wire has low level of resensitivity and also good conductor of electricity.
Aluminium has 61% of copper conductivity . The cross section area of an element in conductor should be 56% largest then copper to carry the same cutting the need of to increase the thickness of aluminium wire restrics it used in many appliance such as small motors and automobiles. It is also cheaper than copper.

Tensile strength of copper is twice that of aluminum, which makes it ideal for electrical conductivity at home. On the other side, it is not a good choice for high voltage lines. This is because high voltage line transmissions involve lots of bending of the cable when doing installation.

Though silver is a very good conductor of electricity but still that is not used in electric wiring primarily due to its cost. It's very expensive compared to the widely used wiring material copper. Another reason for not using silver is that , it oxidizes easily and tarnishes when it comes in contact with air.

Q.1 07:13 Ans. Copper is the preferred wiring for our home over aluminum because of its ease of use and ability to effectively conduct electricity. Remember that aluminium conducts less well when we compare it with copper but copper is comparatively heavier The density of aluminium is only one third of the density of copper so the light weight of aluminium is the main reason for using aluminium instead of copper in overhead connections.

Also copper wire is used in house as it is affordable n conduct better electricity than aluminum..

Copper wire are not used insted Overhead alumiNium wire becasu its melting point is low so it can melt or if we use aluminium wire then our applinces does not get sufficient electricity as it has high resistance

We use aluminium as the overhead power cable instead of copper because
    Aluminium is
    -Light weight
    -cheaper
And the silver is not used as a electrical wire as it's very expensive !! And copper in compare is cheaper !!

copper wire contracts less when heated than aluminium wire. Due to this, it expands less than aluminium wiring does when heated. Wires in an electrical circuit get hotter due to the flow of electricity. Aluminium wiring expands more than copper wiring when heated.

Sir because of the aluminum , its wires tend to overheat because of its disposition . When there's continuous contraction and expansion , the wire connections would loosen and cause the wire to creep out under the screws causing circuits to arc .
