VIETNAM MUSIC VIDEO welcome home to all Vietnam vets thanks all gave some some gave all filmed around Vietnam . The United States entered the war to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam as part of their wider strategy of containment. Military advisors arrived beginning in 1950. U.S. involvement escalated in the early 1960s and combat units were deployed beginning in 1965. Involvement peaked in 1968 at the time of the Tet Offensive. Despite Paris Peace Accords, a peace treaty signed by all parties in January 1973 and Case-Church Amendment, a legislation passed by the U.S. Congress in June 1973 prohibiting further direct U.S. military intervention without Congressional authorization, the U.S. was still heavily invested in the war until 1975. The capture of Saigon by North Vietnamese army, in April 1975, marked the end of Vietnam War. North and South Vietnam were reunified the following year. The war was fought between the communist North Vietnam, supported by its communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other member nations of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO). a Vietnam pilots war footage of choppers and fire birds AHC Between June 1964 and December 1972 around 3500 New Zealand military personnel served in South Vietnam. In contrast to the First and Second World Wars, this country's contribution was modest. At its peak in 1968 the New Zealand force only numbered 543. Thirty-seven died while on active service and 187 were wounded. The Vietnam War − sometimes referred to as the Second Indochina War − lasted from 1959 to 1975. In Vietnam it is often referred to as the American War. It was fought between the communist Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) and its allies, and the US-backed Republic of Vietnam in the south. It ended with the defeat of South Vietnam in April 1975. I had a neighbor growing up. Dude was a Green Beret in Vietnam. He had the coolest house on the block. After a lot of us joined the military, he started sharing his experiences and gave us a lot of tips on war and survival. Pretty awesome guy.

I was a shotgun rider on a Huey in Vietnam. The man in the doorway. Me, my crew chief & the peter pilot used to sing “Fortunate Son” by CCR while we were loading our weapons before lifting off on a mission. You’re alert all the time, if you’re not alert, you’re going to die. Sometimes the deck was slick with blood or worse, we would land in a shallow river to wash it out, It really freaked out the FNG/Cherries we were transporting to their LZ. My crew chief said he saw one cherry pissing his new crisp starched fatigues. HA! I know all soldier’s start out as Cherries, but it’s fun when you’re not one anymore.

I proudly severed in the US ARMY 7 years on active duty I love my country 🇺🇸🇵🇷✌🏼
The picture at the very end of this video is genius. I Rembrandt seeing a painting of it in the late 80’s and I never forgot it. A older veteran back in civilian life touching the wall with images of his comrades that were so young and didn’t make it. What a powerful picture.
Maaan reading all the comments from the Vets is just unbeliveable...much respect for You all from Poland. my family has also airborne traditions but i myself never served.for me all of You are more than modern superheroes. BTW...this clip is just superb
Absolutely agree.

No one ever protected the usa during the Vietnam war lol. In fact, the usa is the aggressor here. Murdering and fighting a war which was none of their business!
I turned 21 in vietnam on a george patton M-48 tank . Each platoon had a ARVIN soldier who had CHEW-Hoid or had been a VC and went to the South side with americans and were called KIT-Carson scouts. Good to see ARVN (South Vietnamese Army) actually depicted--a rarity. Us media always discounted, reticuled--but mostly ignored their contributions.
Forgotten..and aftreworths decimated
A little history here. This was Operation Lam Son 719, the invasion of Laos by the ARVN. The only Americans allowed to participate in this operation was the air crews flying the ARVN to Laos.

🙋🏻♂️ hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
this is a song which captures the gung-ho "spirit of war" but carefully omits to show the horrific "results of war", what the bombs do to
the people on the ground. What is war, if not "death and destruction", for soldierly and civilian victims alike! Thus, war
only as a LAST RESORT! When your country and your people are facing AGGRESSION by a FOE.
Very good my lovely friends.
