Rode with him for the summer while I was on summer break,had a blast. He would stop by our house at 4AM to pick me up , believe me I was out there waiting for him every morning with my metal lunch box, his name was Stanley Dysen. He's been gone for heck like 24 yrs.

The problem with remaking Convoy is there would probably be Volvos in it. 😉 I agree on Bradly Cooper but Hollywood would go with The Rock or Tom Cruise and it would be doomed from the start. When ever I needed a loader or excavator while working at Newport I went next door and talked to Ron . He also has some very old classic Corvettes and many old tractors at his house that I had the privilege to see. Even a few classic vehicles that he bought from Barrett - Jackson. Another memory road video for me.

He only drove around in a short bed single cab 4x4 pickup, nothing fancy at all. Yeah Macks are most common on the East coast, nice to see older iron fixed up. I've been told the Mack 12spd automatics are nice, I'm with you on the Allison automatics slamming in and out of gear. The worst is oh we are going down a hill lets shift up to the highest gear and you have the oh sh*t moments when the truck takes off 🤬

Having contractors plow the highways and streets isn’t a bad idea, I wish we had contractors plow the back highways, county roads and streets because the state, city and county won’t plow those very often or until the main artery highways and streets are plowed.
Great trucks Automatics have Torque Converters Automated Manuals have a clutch with an air shifter I drove a Pete with a 16 speed Eaton which was great in traffic and climbed the western hills well or Jacobs Ladder in your neck of the woods
The old macks and old cats will be still running when this new junk is in the bone yard. Ik a guy still running 40 year old macks every day while the other guy is in the shop every other week for emission issues
